1.Judging will start at 12:00 on Saturday, September 5.
2.Judging will be done on a category basis in the following order:
Chicken Noon, Pork Ribs 12:30pm, Pork 1:00pm, Beef Brisket
1:30pm.
3.Kids Q judging will be held at 11:00am. Meat is sausage and
must be supplied by team.
4.Safety of this event is paramount! Any unsafe acts or safety
issues identified by Jellystone Warrens Staff will be immediately corrected. Failure to follow the directions of the staff may
result in removal from Jellystone Warrens.
The Contest
1.The Smokin’ in the Bogs BBQ competition will be held Friday,
September 4, 2015 and Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Jellystone Warrens in Warrens, WI.
2.The competition is a sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque
Society.
3.The competition is open to everyone; professionals and amateurs. There is limit of six cooks on each team.

Acceptance
1.The DEADLINE to enter is August 28, 2015 or until available
contestant spaces are filled. No refunds will be made after
August 28, 2015.
2.Acceptance and detailed information will be emailed prior to
the week of the contest.

Hold Harmless Clause
Jellystone Warrens shall not be responsible or liable in any way
for any losses, cost, damages, liabilities, debts or expenses incurred by participants of the Smokin’ in the Bogs BBQ competition, its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, successors or assignees
as result of any acts, omissions or negligence of any person,
firm, partnership or corporations attending or participating in the
Smokin’ in the Bogs BBQ competition. As chief cook, you are
signing for your entire team.
Contestant Responsibilities
1.Registration and set-up will begin on Friday, September 4,
2015 at noon. ALL CONTESTANTS MUST BE REGISTERED
AND IN THEIR ASSIGNED PLACE BY 5PM ON FRIDAY,
SEPTEMBER 4, 2015.
2.Electricity and water are available at all assigned sites.

KCBS Sanctioned -- The Smokin’ in the Bogs competition is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society.
Sanctioning insures that a high standard of judging criteria will be used to determine our winners.
The Smokin’ in the Bogs competition uses Kansas City Barbeque Society rules. All scoring tabulation will be handled by
KCBS officials.
Categories -- Put your skills to the test! Contestants may
enter one or all categories listed below. Only the first four
categories are recognized by KCBS; however, all five
categories will be judged using KCBS criteria.

2. Pork Ribs (loin or spare)
3. Pork (shoulder/butt)
4. Brisket (beef)
5. Dessert
Kids Q category will be sausage. Sausage must be
supplied by each team.

All The Festivities
friday, september 4
Meat Inspection -- Upon check-in Friday you will need to
request your meat inspection. All meat must be raw and
non-marinated.
Cook’s Meeting -- We will hold a cook’s meeting Friday at
5:00pm in The Pic-a-Nic Basket. All rules and regulations
will be reviewed; all questions and concerns will also be
addressed.
THIS MEETING IS MANDATORY
Activities -- Yogi BearTM Water Zone and our famous 400’
Blazin’ Big Blue Waterslide will be ready for you to enjoy.
This evening you’ll be able to enjoy a ride on the Jellystone
Express around the park and get a first-hand look at all the
BBQ`ers as they begin their prep for the contest.

Entertainment -- Great entertainment is planned for
Friday night and then again on Saturday afternoon. Come
out and enjoy their music and all the excitement. Show
begins at Friday night at 7:30pm.

Breakfast -- 7:00 to 10:00 am. Enjoy hot breakfast
Saturday morning at the The Pic-a-Nic Basket. We know
how busy you are that morning, so you can get it go.
Activities -- Our outstanding Activity Staff have planned
activities for the kids. Yogi BearTM Water Zone, the Swim-nPlay Beach and much more for family enjoyment. Perhaps
your family would enjoy our arts and crafts.
At Jellystone Theater you’ll be able to enjoy a family
movie.
BBQ Competition -- 11:00am to 2:00pm
We will follow the rules and regulations of the KCBS.
