Dear Friends,
Have you ever read a heartfelt book and wondered what the author must have envisioned when he or she sat
down to a blank page? Do you ever wonder if the finished piece truly captured what the author saw in their
mind? Imagine what a small group of friends and professionals envisioned when they embarked on creating
a community where individuals and families impacted by cancer could come to receive support. It’s daunting
and humbling. Yet, here we are today, 25 years later. Wellness House stands as proof that a group of caring
individuals can turn their hopes, dreams, and vision into something amazing and life-changing. We are a place
that has served more than 32,000 people affected by cancer since the doors first opened.
In 2015, we celebrated our 25th anniversary. And while we’re excited about the future, we’re always very mindful
about our past, our history, and our roots. The pages of our book have been deeply enriched by words of
passion, friendships, generosity, courage, laughter, and yes, some tears. Our story is filled with lots of
memories of those we’ve accompanied on their cancer journey, those who are no longer with us, those who
are new to this journey and those who continue to show their support for our mission, time after time.
Wellness House is a place many people have come to know, appreciate, and love for different reasons.
For many, it’s a place to turn after a cancer diagnosis. It’s a trusted community for education, information, and
support. For others, it’s a place to give of our gifts, skills, and resources. It truly is a welcoming community that
has not only provided support and empowerment for thousands but also fostered life-changing connections.
Regardless of one’s place in the cancer journey, as mother, father, son, daughter, friend, caregiver, or supporter,
we are all drawn together by our shared goal, shared vision, and shared hope.
We’ve grown so much over the years, and everywhere we look, we see changes. But along with all the changes,
we’re also reminded about the way in which things stay the same. We continue to serve and empower those
impacted by cancer so they will improve both their physical and emotional well-being. As the next chapter of our
Wellness House story unfolds, we will continue to grow and take our programs beyond our walls to serve more
people affected by cancer.

to raise $10.65 million over the next three years.
This bold initiative will:
• Preserve and protect our home in Hinsdale
• Enhance our use of technology to better serve our participants
• Strengthen and grow our existing programs and extend our reach into more homes and
communities where the need for our programs remains unmet
