Park 2 President, John Albers Cell:321-624-5608
First, let me thank you for electing me President of Park Two. I assure you, I will do my best for all the
Residents of Gulfstream Harbor. Since the reorganization of the new Board, Rich, the Chairman, has
assigned each board member a different area of responsibility. I am happy to have assumed the responsibility for Park Complaints.
I am also very happy to say every complaint that’s been presented to Brenda, has been addressed within 48 hours with very positive results. I look forward to maintaining the great relationship we’ve established between the Board, Brenda, and Sun Property.
For your general information,m I have also been elected the President of the Federation of Manufactured Home Owners for Gulfstream Harbor and look forward to serving you in this position also. Please
feel free to call me with any of your concerns and I will attempt to assist you.
FRIDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY
IMPORTANT NUMBERS
Who is JESUS? A question each of us may ask ourselves from time to time.
How does scripture answer this question? The Friday
morning Bible Study is a basic study group for those
who want to learn or review scripture in an understanding way with our neighbors.
We learn as we seek answers through sharing and discussing the Word.
Join us as we meet in the Sun Room at 10:00 a.m. on
Friday mornings. Shirley Lehr will be leading.
Come be a part of us as we seek truth.

Hug Your Neighbor (HYN) and its community volunteers are here to help!
Are you looking for assistance with a household repair, need a ride to an appointment or can’t get that pesky lawn edging
done? If you are temporarily without the funds and/or the physical ability to tend to thee or similar jobs, we may be able to
help. Maybe you would just like someone to sit and have a cup of coffee with, play a game of cards or just share the news of
the day. We can help with that, too!
Leave a request card in our drop box in the GHCC lobby and someone from HYN will contact your or your neighbor within
the week.
Hug Your Neighbor/Resale Depot will soon have information sheets available in English and in Spanish. Talent Bank Forms
and Request Forms are also available. Watch for our upcoming raffles of some beautiful items.
Thanks to the Resale Depot and their hardworking volunteers, HYN is able to help fund community projects.
We will be sponsoring Koffee Klatch on March 31st. Hope to see you there!!!
Don’t forget….don’t throw it away...donate it to the Resale Depot!!!!

RELIGIOUS STUDIES
Do you long for an old-fashioned church where the Word of
God is preached and the old hymns are sung and the people
pray for and love each other? Sundays at 11a, try South Conway Road Baptist Church, 6099 S. Conway Rd. There is a
new pastor and new people are coming, and there is a feeling
of joyous excitement. For more information, and if you need
a ride, call 407-382-6792 and talk to Linda Lenhardt.
“If you get to thinkin’ you’re a person of some influence, try
ordering somebody else's dog around.”
“Before loaning money to a friend, decide which you need
most.”
“Admit your errors before someone else exaggerates them.””
“I don’t get the fuss about President’s day. I spend my whole
life not living up to promises and nobody’s giving me a
holiday.”

RELIGIOUS STUDIES
In the past several years, Religious Studies had investigated
various world religions from little known branches of Christianity to Taoism. Lately the studies have branched out to include what nourishes the mind, body, and soul. As we have
evolved, so has the name: Spiritual Growth and Knowledge.
We have just completed a month long study of the Native
American Medicine Wheel. Upcoming topics will include
Energy Healing, Creative Visualization, Overcoming Addiction, and the Bahia Religion. Anyone interested in participating is welcome to join in at 7p on Wednesdays at CH 3 card
room. Anyone interested in teaching/sharing a topic with us,
or wanting more information, please reach out to

Friends of Veterans
David Shorb, 407-926-8212
Friends of the Veterans News article for the March 2016 Gazette by Dave Shorb
In February we helped our 172nd Veteran. Thank you for your awesome support over the years.
It is the mission of Friends of Veterans to help those Veterans that need short term emergency
financial help as determined by the Vet. Center, part of the Veterans Administration. We help all Veterans, those
that live in the park and those that don’t. However, all Veterans requesting help, in the park or out of the park,
must be vetted by the Vet. Center to insure there is a real need. We raise money through donations and projects.
We had two projects during January and February. First, the two sets of hand carved wooden Scandinavian
Spoons donated by Lilian Richards and a beautiful hand made afghan donated by Julie Golay. The drawing was
held after our Love Your Vet Hot Dog Event. The winners were: Garnett Shorb, she chose one set of spoons, Carol Johnson, she chose the afghan, and Carl Foehr, he r eceived the second set of spoons. Congr atulations to
all three winners. The drawing brought in over $275.00. The Hot Dog Event was a tremendous success. Thank you
Linda Owens and her wonder ful team. They did an outstanding job. The event took in over $450.00. Because all items for the event were donated, every penny will go to help Veterans. Listed below are residents that
live right here in our community, that donate part or all of their profits to Friends of Veterans. We encourage you
to support them as you do the Friends of Veterans.
Welcome new Vets: Tom Clay, Army, and Arthur Marcus, Army
Nancy Booker - Dish Cloths/Rice Heating packs
Daniel Dupuis - Pain Patches
Linda Owns - Knitted Items
Martin Hollinger - Planters
Bob Riley - Licensed Plumber
Leon Klinger - Master Electrician
Lou Tjernagel - Woodwork
Also remember, the helmet of GI Joe is out on Vet. Day in the Park during Koffee Klatch, the second Thursday of
the month. In March, that is March 10th. Nancy Booker always does Blood Pressure checks during Vet. Day in the
Park. If you are interested in helping, with any type of project, and giving the proceeds to the Friends of Veterans,
please contact me first so it can be coordinated with other projects going on or being planned. The next general
meeting is Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. Our only reason to exist is to help Veterans at that point in
time when they need it most. We welcome the following Veterans to our community: Tom Clay, Army, and ArVETERANS!
Consider signing up for an HONOR FLIGHT. This will be the day of a lifetime! It’s a one day excursion to
Washington, DC. to see the WW11, Korea, and Vietnam memorials, and more. For more information and
application contact Sue Delong, Veteran Outreach Coordinator @ 407-222-7313
or email: [email protected]
