4mm (UK 8/US 6) set of 5 double-pointed needles.
Bodkin for sewing up.
Tension
On 4mm needles, 22 sts and 30 rows to 10cm (stocking st), or
size needed to obtain correct tension.
Caution It is important to check your tension before starting
your garment and we cannot accept liability for the finished
product if any yarn other than the specified yarn is used. If
there are too many stitches to 10cm, your tension is tight and
you should change to a larger size needle. If there are too few,
your tension is loose and you should change to a smaller size
needle.

INSTRUCTIONS
Instructions are given for the first size, with larger size(s) given
in square brackets [ ]. Where only one figure is given this applies to all sizes.
Before starting to knit, read the instructions carefully and circle
all figures relating to your size with a coloured pencil.
Note: Work in rounds, keeping right side of work facing
throughout.
With 4mm double-pointed needles, cast on 76 [84 , 88] sts,
distributing sts evenly over 4 needles (19 [21 , 22] sts per
needle) and bring ends together to join in a round, ensuring
there are no twists, placing a marker between first and last
sts to mark beginning and end of round.
Tip
Work a further 10cm on these sts. Break yarn, thread through
rem sts and draw up tightly. Fasten off.
MAKE UP
Tie a knot in the Tip. Do not dry handknits in harsh sunlight as
facing or yellowing may occur. Dry flat.

Next round – * K2, P2; rep from * all round. Rep this row for
2cm.
Next round – K, inc 2 [0 , 2] sts evenly (78 [84 , 90] sts).
Cont in stocking st (K every round) until work meas 7.5cm.
Place markers on each 13th [14th , 15th]st (6 markers).
Dec round – K to within 2 sts of first marker, (K2tog, K to within
2 sts of next marker) 5 times, K2tog, K1 (72 [78 , 84]
sts). Work 3 rounds. Dec before each marker as before on
next and every foll 4th round until 42[48 , 54] sts rem, then on
every foll alt round 2 [3 , 4] times more, then on every round 4
times (6 sts).
