About Mardi Gras in the Gaslamp
Gaslamp Quarter, San Diego, CA – San Diego’s nationally recognized
Mardi Gras celebration will be bringing glitz, glam, floats, beads and
vivacious energy to over 10 blocks in the Gaslamp Quarter! We will be
taking over Fifth Avenue in Downtown San Diego on Saturday,
February 6th, 2016 from 4:00 PM to midnight with roaring music,
bright lights, and excitement. Celebrate with over 40,000 revelers at
one of the biggest music and parade festival the West Coast has ever
seen! Gaslamp Quarter Mardi Gras promises an epic transformation of
over 10 blocks in the historic Gaslamp Quarter from Broadway to
Market Street into a world of sensory overload and celebration.
The 2016 Mardi Gras Parade & Celebration will be one for the books
with nationally recognized DJ’s and entertainment, as well as a live
music stage with incredible Jazz performances throughout the night.
The streets will erupt with music and cheering crowds calling for beads
as the parade kicks-off featuring awesome floats, stilt walkers,
unbelievable cars, street performers, samba dancers and ending with a
HUGE surprise!! With multiple stages throughout the venue, you will
definitely be dancing all night long. Last year’s entertainment line-up
included Snoop Dogg; this year’s lineup is set to be BIGGER THAN
EVER!

Entertainment Galore!
The best San Diego, Regional and National EDM DJ’s and Bands! As
always, Mardi Gras will feature some of the best regional and National
DJ talent and bands. Visit our website, www.sdmardigras.com, for an
up to date line-up and special announcements. In 2015 our headliner
was the only and only Snoop Dogg!!
Mardi Gras roving entertainers will be decked out to go along with the
theme for specific areas of the event and will be enchanting the crowd
throughout the parade route.
Roving entertainers will be themed to the various areas as well as
strolling entertainment. Performing insane stunts and unbelievable
bends these acrobatic performers will rival the performers of Cirque du
Soleil and will represent the dramatic show scenes.
A dynamic acrobat performance will meld with the beat and interact
with the LED lighting effects to create a spectacle of movement and
energy.
San Diego Mardi Gras will bring Carnival to life with giant stilt walkers
and larger- than-life puppets unlike you have ever seen before!
The rhythm will pump through your heart as the Super Sonic Samba
School dons elaborate costumes and wows you with the energetic
Samba moves.
BIG Easy Parade
At 9 PM the Big Easy Parade will once again take over the Gaslamp
Quarter and travel down Fifth Avenue to the explosion of confetti
canons and a gigantic assortment of incredible bright and inspired
