Fall Picnic
Well after great debate over the weather forecast, we finally just said “the show
must go on”, and so it did. The road clean up was a bit wet with the misty rain
at times, but none the less, the job got done. Big thanks go out to the following
for helping with this club project:
Dave and Robin Douglas
Carter Shelton and Amanda
Rick Slavik
Geoff Yates
Theresa, Quentin, and Paige Bradford
Steve Piraino
Karen Keys
Bill and Janet Berkhahn
It turned into a perfect fall day and could not have been better for our picnic.
Jerry Gillette was such a gracious host allowing us to once again take advantage
of his beautiful estate. The kids had a great time touring the grounds on the
golf carts and everyone enjoyed the ambiance of fall.
Craig Keys showed off his cooking talents by perfectly smoking the meats. We
dined on pulled pork, beef brisket, and BBQ chicken. Homemade sauces
complimented the feast. And, we can’t forget to mention all the other fixin’s
from the participants. We ate in style, wrapping up the event just before
midnight!!!! Enjoy the photos to the left and more at the end of the newsletter..
Snow Show This Weekend………………
Don’t forget to slide on out to State Fair Park this weekend and attend the
Snow Show. Always a great time to find those new gadgets/gear and pick
up on show specials…
If you are interested in working the County Ticket Booth, check with Tom
Rowinski for any updates on times available.
***Annual Dues are NOW Due. Please submit
your $30.00 membership fee for 2013/2014.***

REPEATED INFO: Annual Club Trip
By Karen Keys
Caption describing picture or graphic.
Our new Trail Master “Tom Rowinske” will be hard at work getting
plans together for our riding season. Now is the time if you have
any suggestions on where to go. A decision will need to be made
soon, to allow for reservations. A block of rooms is usually made
and/or cabins are held. Anyone who has experienced a snowmobile
trip and found that gem of a place, please share your experience
or make suggestions on where we can go. So many options…. But,
at times, good Ol’ Mother Nature will dictate where the snow will
fall. So, we have become creatures of following the path of least
resistance and gravitating to trails without moguls and have big
groomers!!! Man we love those guys…
It’s always fun to experience new places, but sometimes the tried
and true is the winning ticket…. So, let’s hear your thoughts….
Snooze you lose….. A location will need to be chosen soon.

Kettle Moraine Riders Meeting Minutes: 9/3/13
KMR October 1, 2013 monthly meeting called to order at 7:35.
There were 9 people in attendance
Minutes were read from the September meeting by Karen Keys in absence of the Secretary. There are no
additions or corrections to the September minutes. Motion by Joe Schiller and seconded by Will Keys.
Approved.
There is no treasurer’s report. Steve is absent and has not coordinated with the new treasurer (Karen Keys)
yet to have access to accounts.
Trail Report given by Tom Bradford in absence of Tom Rowinski. Tom B added he received the returned
check from a landowner. This landowner was given a $500.00 check to cover possible damage done to his
field from careless use prior to our request to run our trail through his field. His crops came in fine and he
returned the earnest money. This will be added back into the checking account.
Trail set up will be on 11/10/13 at 0800 am. Everyone can meet at Bradfords. There has been no
communication or further info on the making of the concrete buckets to be used for downed signs during
the winter.
Tom B also commented he was approached by Eagle Aire landscapers who are correcting damage done to
the landscape wiring at the intersection off Sprague Road. They wanted to share to the KMR group that
when marking trail signs, to be cautious not to pound into the live wirings below ground.
No discussion around trail brushing with the DNR has taken place. An assessment of what areas need to be
done must be completed first. Tom B or Tom R will contact Don at the DNR and follow up with report.
Snow Show: With Tom R. absent, there is no report on sign up for the snow show.

Website: Dave Douglas is absent; there is no report on the website.
Groomer Corp Stocks: this information will be tabled until the November meeting due to such low
attendance at this meeting.
DNR Appreciation Picnic: there will be an appreciation picnic hosted by the DNR for any volunteer groups
who helped out this past year. This event will be held on 10/26/13 at the DJ Mackie picnic area off Hwy ZZ.
It will be between 12:00 and 3:00 pm.
Fall Picnic: There are only 9 RSVP’s to the fall picnic. The recommendation has been made to cancel if we
do not have enough participants. The road clean-up will continue regardless of the picnic status. Karen will
send out a final reminder. It was discovered that not all members are receiving the updates and newsletters
via email.
Snowmobile Safety Class: Craig suggested we host a snowmobile safety class. A date will need to be made.
It was recommended that an early December one would work nicely as there are no other courses going on
at that time, plus it is just before the sledding season. Members present felt this was a good thing and
wanted to pursue a class. Craig and Tom B will coordinate to organize this event.. Many suggestions were
made as to a location, but the favored spot was Mukwonago High School. It will be looked into.
Club Trip: Anyone having any ideas on a location for the club trip, please forward your thoughts onto Tom
Rowinske.
Letters to source donators for our raffles. Draft examples of letters were distributed amongst the members
present for feedback on these letters. It is important to get these completed and out as soon as possible as
we are once again running out of time. The members present liked the letters presented. Craig will try to
arrange a special board meeting to inform the absent board members of the updates on this. There are
substantial lists of potential vendors to source. Tom B recommended the letters should be followed up with
phone calls. He volunteered to reach out to these vendors.
Cap/Step info was sent out to all membership via email.
Snowgoer discount also sent out via email.
Annual dues are due, please pay ASAP
National parks are closed due to the government shut down.
Meeting adjourned at 8:38 pm, motion made by Joe Schiller and seconded by Dan Rydeski
Respectfully submitted by Karen Keys, in absence of Secretary Carter Shelton
