Monte-Carlo, capital of elegance, well-being and contemporary glamour, needed a
Buddha-Bar. And, hey presto, it now has one! Groupe Monte-Carlo SBM, at the
request of CEO Bernard Lambert, chose the Buddha-Bar brand to set up an Asian
eatery and meeting place in Monaco.
Already successful in the worldÊs top hot spots including Paris, London, Beirut,
Dubai, Sao Paulo and Kiev to name but a few, Buddha-Bar is further confirming its
commitment to the world of all things refined with this new address which hopes to
become the Asian cuisine venue par excellence in the Principality.
Much more than just a concept, Buddha-Bar is a way of life, timeless yet in tune with
the times. A fusion of East-meets-West, Buddha-Bar breathes new life on to the
Place du Casino. A chic yet relaxed festive spirit shared with Monte-Carlo SBM
which has been involved in Riviera nightlife for almost 150 years.
Monte-Carlo SBM and Raymond Visan, creator of Buddha-Bar, are combining
their skills to offer Monte-Carlo a new venue which will complete the resortÊs
restaurants. It is in the very heart of the „Golden Circle‰ that Buddha-Bar MonteCarlo is welcoming fans of Pacific Rim cooking and lounge music.

BUDDHA-BAR MONTE-CARLO
With the opening of Buddha-Bar Monte-Carlo, Monte-Carlo SBM is adding another
quality restaurant to its collection. It is offering, more than ever before, a formidable
choice of ambiances, trends and culinary cultures, ready to satisfy the craziest or most
simple whims night and day.
Tucked away in an old concert hall built at the start of the 20th century, the unique
setting oozes character. It combines architectural heritage and Asian-style decoration,
a delicate balance of materials, colours and objets dÊart. The works revealed unexpected
splendours which have been restored and incorporated into the new design. Thus, behind
the old wall coverings, natural oak wall panels decorated with sculpted musical
instruments dating from 1910 were discovered. The imposing original stucco work on the
ceiling has simply been regilded. An original and charming elevator provides direct
access to the Casino gamblers.
The impressive height of the room · 7 metres (23 ft) · has been used to create a
mezzanine on which the restaurant dining room has been installed. This looks over the
lounge and bar under the watchful eye of the statue of Buddha, made especially in Asia.
Enormous chandeliers covered in passementerie, diffuse amber-coloured light and give
the deep red, black and gold decor an aura of serenity⁄ totally Zen totally BuddhaBar!
Focused on pleasure, Buddha-Bar Monte-Carlo covers more than 1000m2
(1196 square yards)² and boasts a 150-cover restaurant serving top-quality
Asian-inspired cuisine on the mezzanine, as well as a private room which can
cater for up to 20 guests.
On the ground floor, the lounge-bar seats around 100 of which 30 are on the two
open-air terraces built around the entrance to the venue. The ideal place to
spend balmy summer evenings, sipping cocktails and indulging in sushi, sashimi
and Buddha rolls.

At Buddha-Bar, the chef invents and innovates with the Pacific Rim
menu, a perfect combination of Asian culinary delights and French-style
excellence.
Amongst the famous signature dishes: Crispy chicken Chinese salad,
Fillet of beef Teppan Yaki, Five spice grilled chicken, Peking-style duck
with fruit compote⁄ or guests can enjoy other divine food such as
sashimi, rolls and other unique creations.

for itself around the world. A delicate mix of Lounge and World music, with electro
and tribal beats, the Buddha-Bar selection is subtly distilled by the resident DJ.
