Hardware Package: Package: YOU WILL ONLY NEED 1 NUT OR BOLT 4 BOLTS (MOSTLY CURVED SHAFTS) ADAPTER CUP (SPEED SPOOLS - METHOD 2) 11 NUTS (MOSTLY STRAIGHT SHAFTS) WASHER (ALWAYS USE ABOVE TRITON HEAD) HEX ADAPTER (METHOD 3) PLASTIC SPACER (Some Curved and Straight Shaft models) The charts below are meant to be a general guide for installation methods. Follow the manufacturer’s safety and operating instructions. Unauthorised modifications to your trimmer may result in the failure of your trimmer or trimmer head and cause serious personal injury. Method 1: Most Straight Shafts & Spindle Driven Curved Shafts ( Honda & Echo) Use when when removing removing whole housing and there is no removable shaft extension (Do not use for Ryobi, Homelite, Toro or Stihl Curved Shaft models) 1.) 2.) 3.) 4.) 5.) Consult owners manual to determine method to lock shaft rotation. (Could be a key hole or require a wrench) Unscrew ENTIRE trimmer head spool assembly to expose threaded shaft. Identify which nut from the package threads easily onto the shaft. (Use ¼” plastic spacer for Stihl & Husvarna models) Place the identified nut into the recessed hex cavity of the Triton Trimmer Head Hold nut in place with your finger, and securely tighten the Triton Trimmer Head onto the shaft by turning the head with the shaft rotation locked. No need to overtighten. Method 2: SPEED SPOOL TRIMMERS (USUALLY A YELLOW TRIMMER HEAD) Also use on other Curved Shaft models when the spool housing is not removable 1.) Unscrew knob & remove ONLY the knob, spool and spring. (Leave spool housing on trimmer) 2.) Identify which nut OR bolt easily threads onto your trimmer. 3.) Insert the plastic ADAPTER CUP into the original spool housing, cover with metal washer. 4.) Insert identified nut or bolt into the recessed cavity of the Triton Trimmer Head. 5.) Hold nut or bolt in place with finger and turn Triton Trimmer Head to snug entire assembly. Do not overtighten! Method 3: *** MOST Popular Curved Shaft Trimmers*** (Ryobi, GMC, Homelite, Talon) Also use on other Curved Shaft models when the spool housing is removable 1.) Unscrew and remove the bump knob, spool and spool housing. 2.) Identify which bolt easily threads onto your trimmer spindle. PLEASE NOTE: Some Talon, McCulloch and Stihl FS45 curved shaft models may need additional hardware depending on model type. Email [email protected] for help. Allow 1-2 days for reply. Photos maybe needed to assist with fitting enquiry. 3.) Place large STEEL WASHER down over spindle resting against hex. 4.) Depending on the length of your spindle, you may now place large black spacer down over spindle resting against washer. This will stop any movement when fitting. Eg: Earlier Homelite models. 5.) Insert correct bolt into the plastic HEX ADAPTOR - then place inside Triton Trimmer Head. 6.) Turn Trimmer Head to tighten the assembly. Hold the spindle hex with shifter and securely tighten. ¼ to ½ turn depending on your model line trimmer. ***Do not overtighten*** Method 4: Some Straight Shaft Trimmers with SHAFT EXTENTIONS 1.) 2.) 3.) 4.) 5.) Unscrew knob and remove entire trimmer head assembly. Unscrew SHAFT EXTENSION to expose primary shaft. Identify which nut from the package threads easily onto the shaft. Place identified nut into recessed hex cavity of the Triton Trimmer Head. Hold nut in place and securely tighten the Triton Trimmer Head onto the shaft by turning the head. • To maximize the Triton Trimmer Head’s performance follow these tips: • Run your trimmer at ½ - ¾ Throttle Speed • Do your concrete edging last and use good quality trimmer line!
