A MESSAGE FROM OUR PASTOR
Dear Holy Apostles Parish Family,
HAPPY EASTER! It is good to see you all here
today!
This weekend we have just under 30 people
receiving the Sacraments at the Easter Vigil.
Last Saturday night we had dinner and then
time to share with our English-speaking candidates. It was quite inspiring to hear them share
why they want to be Catholic.
Many of our candidates said that since they
started RCIA, they are better people, spouses,
parents and employees. Many have gotten feedback from their kids, spouses, and fellow employees telling them they are different in good
ways. They feel closer to God and more at ease.
Some people said they wondered why it is important to go to Mass each week and now they
know why. They feel like they miss something
and miss seeing people they go to church with
and feel less connected. They feel at home and
part of this community. These connections are
important to them when they face the challenges of life and grieve losses.
I'm glad you are with us today. I invite you to
keep joining us and choose to serve in some
capacity, so that you feel closer to God and
not alone in facing the challenges of life in a
world where it can be very difficult to not be
swallowed up in anger when we do not understand how God is working in our lives.
We are very blessed to have you and share your
gifts with the rest of us.
Have a Blessed Easter!
Father Paul
Christ is risen, alleluia, alleluia! Let us give
thanks to God for bringing light into the darkness and victory over sin and death. We realize
today that what we experience and achieve in
our earthly lives is not the end. We have a greater purpose yet to be revealed. Because of the
gift of Christ's resurrection, we can clearly see
that our lives do not end in death, they are just
beginning.
WE OFFER OUR PRAYERS FOR:
All the homeless, the unemployed, the military, the addicted, the
grieving, the imprisoned, and the physically and emotionally ill.

Receive Extraordinary Graces of Divine Mercy Tamale Sale Fundraiser Next Sunday
What are the Extraordinary Graces of Divine Mercy Sunday?
Within the Diary of St. Faustina, Jesus mentions over and
over, the great importance of The Feast of Mercy and the
extraordinary graces He will grant:
My daughter, tell the whole world about My inconceivable mercy. I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and
shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. The
soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion will obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment (699).
I want to grant a complete pardon to the souls that will go to
Confession and receive Holy
Communion on the Feast of My
mercy (1109).
Whoever approaches the Fountain of Life on this day will be
granted complete forgiveness of
sins and punishment (300).
Not only are we completely forgiven by God, but we receive
many additional extraordinary
graces. I pour out a whole ocean
of graces upon those souls who
approach the fount of My mercy.
This is a day of miracles. Ask and
you shall receive. Knock and the
door will be open to you. The Lord always gives in
abundance.
How to Observe the Feast of Mercy:
1. Celebrate the Feast on the Sunday after Easter. (April 3,
2016).
2. Sincerely repent of all our sins by going to Confession,
preferably beforehand.
3. Place our complete trust in Jesus.
4. Receive Holy Communion on the day of the Feast.
5. Venerate the Image of The Divine Mercy.
6. Be merciful to others, through our actions, words, and
prayers on their behalf.
Hold off eating breakfast—save
your appetite for after Mass next
Sunday, April 3. The Spanish
Women’s Emmaus team will be
offering fresh homemade tamales
for sale in Sherry Center, from
8 AM to 2 PM. All proceeds from
the sale will benefit the Emmaus Retreat.
SVdPS Helps with Basic Needs
This week, a young mother called the St. Vincent de
Paul Society for assistance. Her two elementary-aged
boys had grown quite a bit over the past few months,
out-growing most of their clothes. Do you remember
those days with your own children or perhaps nieces or
nephews? Those growth spurts and the need for clothes
that fit can tax any budget! St. Vincent de Paul was able
to provide a voucher to Salvation Army that this mom
put to good use in purchasing
gently used clothing for her boys.
Several bags of food helped ensure that these growing boys had
enough to eat that week. Thank
you for your donations that make
it possible to help our neighbors in need. Please drop
your donations in the Poor Box in the Church vestibule,
use your SVdPS envelope and drop in the collection basket, or arrange for an electronic donation using GiveCentral. "All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do."
Galatians 2:10
