part or faulty workmanship by the manufacturer. Primary and Secure coverage options do not
include wear and tear. Certain conditions and components are excluded, such as inadequate
maintenance of the vehicle, corrosion, and parts designed for limited life such as bulbs, filters,

Claim Procedures
When a MasterTech service contract holder reports a mechanical problem that may be covered by the
vehicle service contract, follow these procedures:

Secure a copy of the customer’s MasterTech Vehicle
Service Contract, the contract number, the Vehicle
Identification Number, or the customer’s complete name
and address, and the name of the selling dealer.

Verify the service contract time and mileage limits to
ensure the vehicle service contract is still in force, and
that the vehicle in for repairs is the covered vehicle. If
the contract has expired, please advise the customer
accordingly.

Review the maintenance records and receipts provided
by the customer to confirm that the required vehicle
maintenance has been performed.

To facilitate prompt claim handling, we require repair
costs to be itemized including part numbers and labor
times, separated between covered and non-covered
repairs. Please include the authorization number and the
customer’s signature when faxing the claim for payment.

Review the deductible with the customer. Deductibles will
vary depending on the coverage selected.
Rental reimbursement is authorized according to the
terms of the stated rental benefit and will not exceed the
rental limits of the contract. See the contract for additional
details.

Sublet repairs pay an additional 10% of the repair bill to
cover your cost of handling the additional paperwork and
shall not exceed $35.00.
All claims require pre-approval. Contact the administrator
prior to initiating any teardown or repairs.
The contract does not cover a mechanical breakdown
or failure due to abuse or neglect. The service contract
does not cover any failure while under the manufacturer’s
warranty or recall, whether the manufacturer honors
such warranty or not. Modified or converted vans, and/
or modifications to any other types of vehicles are not
covered under this VSC, unless such modifications
or conversions are performed at the factory by the
vehicle’s manufacturer or by an authorized conversion
company and the appropriate surcharge has been
paid. See the contract for additional details.
Obtain the customer’s authorization for any
teardown and/or diagnosis. The customer will be
responsible for teardown or diagnostic charges
for non-covered repairs.
1. Submit the following items to American Financial Warranty
Corporation within 2 business days of the service contract
purchase date:
• The original Administrator and Lienholder copy of the
MasterTech Vehicle Service Contract showing
Service Payment Plan (SPP) as the lienholder
• The original executed copy of the MasterTech Payment
Plan Retail Installment Contract
• The customer’s voided check, if applicable
• A MasterTech Payment Plan remittance register
The 12- or 18-month interest free installment plan is perfect for
customers who would like to purchase their vehicle with cash or
already have pre-arranged financing. Customers visiting the service
drive who wish to purchase a MasterTech Vehicle Protection Plan after
they have purchased their vehicle can benefit from this option also.
Selling a Contract
Customers who purchase an eligible MasterTech Vehicle Protection Plan
may use the MasterTech Payment Plan option by:
1. Signing the MasterTech Payment Plan Retail Installment Contract.
2. Paying a minimum down payment of 10% of the service contract
purchase price.
3. Paying the remaining customer purchase price in 12 or 18 equal
monthly installments made by:
• Direct debit from a customer’s checking account or
• Monthly charge to the customer’s MasterCard, Visa, or Discover
credit/debit card

SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE PROGRAM
Claim Procedures

Secure a copy of the customer’s MasterTech Scheduled
Maintenance contract, the contract number, the Vehicle
Identification Number (VIN), or the customer’s complete
name and address, along with the name of the selling dealer.

Verify the scheduled maintenance contract time limits to
ensure that the MasterTech Scheduled Maintenance contract
is still in force, and that the vehicle in for maintenance is the
covered vehicle. If the contract has expired, please advise
the customer accordingly.

To verify customer’s maintenance coverage you can either
access the customer’s scheduled maintenance contract via
MasterTech Online or contact the administrator by calling
800.964.4811.
