SVMIT is a premier institute providing higher
education in the field of engineering and technology since 1996. The institute is in close
proximity of a formidable industrial base of
industrial estates, Special Economical Zones
(SEZ) and Petroleum, Chemicals and Petrochemicals Investment Region (PCPIR) which
provides a unique backdrop for strong corporate
contacts and diligent academic pursuit. Several
private business conglomerates have their presence in Bharuch.
Looking to the development of big industrial
house in and around Bharuch and their increasing needs of technical personals, a premier college of Bharuch SVMIT has taken a new initiative to start a Post Graduate (PG) programs in
the academic year 2010-11. Until 2010 we have
been involved only in Undergraduate (UG)
education in the six different disciplines of engineering and technology. But today we are the
distinct member in technical education with
seven different UG courses and PG in Mechanical with four specialization namely (a) CAD/
CAM (b) Thermal Engineering (c) IC Engines
and Automobiles and (d) Advanced Manufacturing systems. Our laboratories are equipped
with software like PRO-E, ANSYS, HyperWorks and AutoCad and also with latest CNC
machines.
The “success story” has been presented in the
first issue of “SPECTRUM” on 15th August
2012. It is our pleasure to showcase first batch
result of ME program in this issue.

."I am grateful for the privilege to serve as
the principal of this premier Engineering
institute SVMIT, and very much look forward to work with the highly talented
SVMIT faculty, staff and students to take
the College to new heights."
I am very pleased to have this opportunity
to communicate with you through this enewsletter.
Gujarat entered in to a self finance engineering education in 1995 with couple of
institution to start with. But over the past
one and half decade this higher education
system has now become an enterprise having much of business orientation with all
its exposure to fierce competition at different levels of stakeholders. In this scenario
the fittest will prevail for a long years to
come. It is my endeavor to see that SVMIT
remains fit and healthy by adapting a technological change in educational system. It
is important for us to re-evaluate our priorities and expectations. I wish that favorable governance, adequate resources and
academic value and integrity of SVMIT
will induce concentration of talented students, faculty and researchers from all over
the region. I wish together we can reach to
number one institute in the region.
“ Unity is strength... when
there is teamwork and
collaboration,
wonderful
things can be achieved.”

with two specialization subjects last year and first batch
is out with flying colors. This
year we have started two
more courses in Mechanical
Engineering for
P.G. We
have also started expanding
horizontally in terms of
physical infrastructure .
Soon we would like to offer
PG courses in EC and Electrical also. At this moment I
would like to congratulate
Mechanical Engineering
Department in general for
coming up to expectation
and delivering the goods. I
wish them all the success for
new courses of Advance

behind Maktampur-DGVCL/GETCO office of Bharuch city. It is connected to Haldarwa substation and Ankleshwar substation
through 132KV transmission lines. It feeds supply to 132KV Bharuch railway substion. It also supplies electricity to the whole
Bharuch(East) through 22KV feeders. It is having state of the art equipments related to switchgear and protection for example,
SF6 and Vacuume Circuit Breakers, CTs, PTs, 120MVA large power transformers, numerical relays for distance, over current
earthfault and differential protection etc.It is most suitable to learn about switchgear and protection. More than fifty five students
of final year Electrical class along with subject teachers Shri P.R. Mankad and Shri. A. P. Mehta visited the substation. After
reaching there, staff members of substation showed single line diagram, relays, panels, battery room and explained its working.
Students were divided in three batches and visited switch yard. In switch yard they were explained about various components like
