Esterline Defense Group is dedicated to serving the
combustible ordnance needs of its customers worldwide. As a
division of Esterline Technologies, Esterline Defense Group
has available resources to support every contractual
obligation. Esterline Defense Group is proud of its role in
contributing to the preparedness of the United States and
allied armed forces.
In addition to Armtec® combustible ordnance products
manufactured in our California facility, Esterline Defense
Group is the world’s foremost developer and supplier of
expendable countermeasures used to protect aircraft from
missile threats. At our Arkansas, Tennessee and United
Kingdom facilities we have Research and Development and
Manufacturing operations for infrared (IR) decoy flares, used
to protect aircraft from heat-seeking missiles. Our North
Carolina facility is the only fully integrated chaff
manufacturing facility in the world. Our chaff products
provide superior protection from radar guided missile threats.

People are our most important asset. We have assembled the
largest and most experienced team of scientists, engineers,
and operators in the combustible ordnance industry. Peter
DeLuca, our founder, developed and patented the basic
molding process for combustible ordnance used throughout
the world today.

Esterline Defense Group’s corporate facilities are located near
Palm Springs, California. We have over 100,000 square feet of
under-roof facilities which include:

ARMTEC COMBUSTIBLE ORDNANCE:
THE PREFERRED SOLUTION
®
Our Armtec® combustible ordnance products are used in a
wide variety of military applications and offer significant
advantages over technologies such as metal cases for
tank ammunition, bag charges for artillery and celluloid
containers or bag charges for mortar applications.
Our combustible ordnance advantages include:

The 155mm Modular Artillery Charge System (MACS) uses the
Armtec® three-piece combustible case set for each module.
The MACS is in production and is the U.S. Standard for
155mm Cannons, meeting the needs of both the heavy forces
and the rapidly deployable Stryker Brigade Combat Teams.
The Modular Artillery Charge System and maximum range
unitary charges, such as the M203A1, offer the superior
performance demanded from today’s artillery systems.
These charges offer:
