While today sees voting open for the AIM’s ‘Golden Welly’ Independent Music Festival Award, AIM
also announces initial details of the 2014 Labelled With Love festival, a series of label curated gigs
showcasing the phenomenal and diverse talents of the independent sector, supported by Arts
Council England.
Promoted by indie stalwarts Club Fandango and in partnership with XFM, DIY Music and 7digital,
AIM's Labelled With Love festival will take place through September following the AIM Awards on
the 2nd. The programme of gigs showcases the wide range of exciting music put out by the UK's
independent labels, with nights hosted by Bella Union, Fire Records, Ground Level and many other
great labels.

VOTING OPEN FOR BEST INDEPENDENT FESTIVAL AWARD
Voting opens today for the Golden Welly Award for Best Independent Festival at the AIM
Independent Music Awards, in association with AIF. Music fans can vote for the Best Independent
Festival from a list of 14 festivals, and one lucky voter will be selected at random to win guest
tickets to the winning festival in 2015.
The Golden Welly Award category is supported by music magazine and website DIY, and music
fans can vote for their favourite independent festival until Thursday 24th July 2014 via their
website: DIYMAG.com/aimawards
The independent festivals battling it out for the Golden Welly Award are:
ArcTanGent, Barn on the Farm, Bestival, Brownstock, Greenbelt, Kendal Calling, LeeFest,
Meltdown Festival, Nozstock: The Hidden Valley, Secret Garden Party, Stockton Weekender, The
Fling Festival, Truck Festival, Y Not Festival
Voting is weighted according to each festival’s capacity, giving festivals of any size equal chance to
clinch the prize. Previous winners were In The Woods (2013), LeeFest (2012) and Bearded
Theory (2011).
AIM Awards organiser, Lara Baker commented: “The UK’s festival scene is the most exciting in the
World, and the 14 independent festivals up for nomination this year are a great example of that.
They include festivals from all over the UK, large and small, and all different types of music and
entertainment.”
Voting closes on Thursday 24th July, with final nominees announced shortly afterwards. Winners
will be revealed at the AIM Awards ceremony in London on 2nd September 2014.
