Collapse Rescue With Paratech
Collapse rescue is easily one of the most
difficult challenges faced by fire brigades
and rescue teams. Structural collapse
emergencies occur almost daily somewhere
in the world. “Workmen Trapped During
Building Demolition”, “Natural Gas
Explosions”, “Terrorist Bomb”, “Earthquake
Rocks Residential Area”, “Burning Building
Collapses – Traps Fire Fighters”. We have all
seen these or similar news headlines and
now we can be better equipped to face these
collapse rescue challenges.
A Comprehensive System
The system includes strut extensions and
special baseplates designed to support a
wide variety of contact points. Truly a system
that will not stop growing, RescueStruts can
be used in excavation collapse (trenches,
mines), stabilizing crashed vehicles and
reinforcing structures weakened by fire,
earthquake or an explosion. With a wide
variety of Strut accessories, including our
Danish Multi Brace, rescue teams can use
RescueStrut components to build tripod
cranes, and vertical wall bracing.
The Go Anywhere System
Paratech RescueStruts are truly a “go
anywhere” system. Fire departments and civil
defense agencies can move this equipment to
a collapse site with relative ease. The
operation is simple and safe. All pneumatic
fittings are adaptable to your lifting bag
systems and training is available from the

ACME THREAD STRUT
ACME THREAD STRUT
The Acme Thread Strut consists of five sizes of extendible
struts. Each strut consists of a 7.5 cm|3 in aluminum alloy
tube with a solid 6.35 cm|2-1/2 in aluminum alloy moveable
Acme threaded shaft. The four largest sizes can be extended
manually or activated by air, carbon dioxide or nitrogen. The
Acme Thread Strut allows soft placement at collapse
incidents and can be safely secured under the area to be
supported with a minimum of shock to the load.

LOCKSTROKE STRUT
The LockStroke Rescue Strut consists of four sizes of
extendible struts. Each strut consists of a 7.5 cm|3 in
aluminum alloy tube with a solid 6.35 cm|2-1/2 in aluminum
alloy moveable grooved shaft, and can be extended manually
or activated by air, carbon dioxide, or nitrogen. The
LockStroke RescueStrut locks automatically in an extended
position and does not require hand inserted locking pins. This
LockStroke RescueStrut can be extended and locked from a
remote location without endangering rescue personnel.

TRIPOD CONVERSION KIT
Extension

rigid struts
Consists of four specific lengths (15.2 cm|6 in, 30.5 cm|12 in,
61.0 cm|24 in, & 91.4 cm|36 in) of 7.6 cm|3 in aluminum alloy
tubing of the same type used in manufacturing the RescueStruts.
Each extension is equipped with a spring loaded locking pin to
permit connection to an extendible RescueStrut.
LOW CLEARANCE SUPPORTS
Low clearance supports is a series of rigid RescueStruts
constructed of aluminum. These rigid struts are available in
baseplug, 2.5 cm|1 in, 7.6 cm|3 in, 12.7 cm|5 in, 17.8 cm|7 in
lengths. This system is designed for low clearance use in
conjunction with a variety of base and end plates.

Designed to complement the RescueStrut line. The Tripod
Conversion Kit is manufactured from aluminum alloy for
light weight and strength. This kit is designed for use with
your RescueStruts already used in trench rescue, building
collapse and vehicle stabilization.
Attach the Tripod head to an Acme or LockStroke
RescueStrut and/or extension to create a strong, stable
support for tripod use as a jackstand and/or high support.
A durable carrying case makes transport easy.
CONTROLS AND ACCESSORIES
Pressure Regulator
The pressure regulator is a self-contained,
direct-acting, pressure-reducing type
designed primarily for use with a SCBA (selfcontained breathing apparatus) air cylinder.
Inlet pressures up to 413.7 Bar|6,000 PSI
are adjustable to constant working pressures
up to 20.7 Bar|300 PSI. The pressure
regulator is designed to mate with a
CGA-346/347 adapter fitting.
Dual Deadman Controller
Single input/dual output controller
incorporating quick disconnect hose
fittings and dual push-button controls to
apply and release air pressure to either
one or two RescueStruts. Two gauges are
provided to monitor the air pressure applied to
either one or two strut(s) and a 20.7 Bar|300 PSI
relief valve is incorporated to limit the applied air
pressure. An adjustable carrying strap is provided.
Air Supply Hose
Paratech’s custom 9.5 mm|3/8 in inside
diameter supply hose comes in three lengths, a
variety of colors and equipped with quick
disconnect hose fittings. The hose is designed for
a working pressure of 20.7 Bar|300 PSI and a
temperature of -4.4C°|-40°F to 65.5C° |+150°F.
DANISH MULTI-BRACE
ELEVATOR SUPPORT UNIT ADAPTER KIT

National Rescue Service the Danish Multi-Brace (DMB)
provides portable, quick shoring frame, trench support, and
wall support anywhere.
Utilizing RescueStruts and a combination of hinged and VBases, the DMB offers unparalleled versatility and strength.
Paratech's Elevator Support Unit
(ESU) safely stabilizes an elevator
and prevents it from moving. When
deployed, the ESU causes zero to
minimal damage to elevator cars
and affords rescue teams precious
time to extricate passengers and
save lives. Two unique RescueStrut
base and end plates form the core
components of this system. An
Angled Rubber Base attaches to
either RescueStrut and grips the
floor, while the Elevator Support
Arm attaches to the top of the
RescueStrut and hooks under the
elevator car.

LONG SHORE AND EXTENSIONS
The Acme Thread Long Shore System consists of
five sizes of extendable Long Shores ranging from
90.2 cm|35.5 in to 503 cm|198 in. Each Long Shore
consists of a 8.9 cm| 3-1/2 in aluminum alloy tube
with a 7.6 cm|3 in aluminum alloy threaded shaft that
can be extended manually or activated by air, carbon
dioxide or nitrogen. The Acme Thread Long Shore
allows soft placement at collapse incidents and can be
safely secured with a minimum of shock to the load.
All aluminum alloy components of the Long Shore
System are hard anodized to reduce electrical
conductivity and increase strength and wearability.

X bracing.
䡵 Use 1.83-3.05 m|6-10 ft or 2.44-3.66 m|8-12 ft Struts With or Without
one .61 m|2 ft, 1.22 m|4 ft or 1.83 m|6ft extension per strut
䡵 Raker Systems should be configured with the angle between the
Raker and the Ground being between 40 and 60 degrees.
