the Camp ready for
summer!
This year at Camp Meeting, our theme
was “Reflect.” How many times a day do you
look into a mirror? Probably at least ten
times per day, and that is before you go to
work. Then you check yourself in the car
mirror, and then the restroom mirror at work
or the gym, etc. What do you see when you
look in the mirror?
I see my dad when I look at my
reflection. Physically, my dad and I have a
lot of the same characteristics. There is a
family resemblance, but there is also a
reflection of my dad in my character and the
way I live my life.
The question that I want us to wrestle
through is this: “Who/What do people see
when they look into me?” Christ followers
are called to be a mirror.

I believe that when people look at us,
they should see Christ. Our lives should
reflect Christ in all that we do and say. Our
attitudes, actions and reactions should
reflect the character of Christ to those
around us. Living as a reflection of Christ
should be a natural outflow of who we are.
Remember, Christ should be changing you
into his image. If we allow that, we WILL
reflect him. We should reflect Christ and
Christ-like character into our world.
Jesus told the disciples that they were to
be the light of the world. That does not
mean that they were “THE” light. They were
not being told to be the origin of the light, but
to reflect the light. Just like the moon gives
off light from the sun.
Men: Who do your wife and kids see
when they look at your life? Do they see a
reflection of Christ? Do they see a man
giving himself for his wife/family?
Ladies: Does your family see a humble
person when they look into your life? Christ
humbled himself and submitted to God’s will
out of love.
Students: What do your friends see
when they look into your life? Can they
identify any light being reflected?
Do our lives reflect Christ? We are a
mirror and we are reflecting something.
In Psalm 119:5, David said that he
wanted his actions to consistently reflect
God’s desires. In John 1, we read that there
was a man sent from God – he came to
testify/reflect/bear witness of the light. He
was not the light.
WHY WAS HE TO REFLECT THE
LIGHT? Verse 7 tells us that it is so ALL
might believe. The love of Christ is for all.
There is no one who cannot have a

relationship with Christ. God does not pick
and choose. BUT if we do not reflect the
light into people’s lives, they will not be able
to believe in Him.
IF we are going to reflect Christ into our
world, we MUST be turned toward the light
ourselves. So, the question for us to wrestle
with is this: Who/What are we reflecting?
I am not asking you to join a program.
DOING a reflecting activity is not what it is
about. Clothing drives, gamer nights and
other programs are good, but I don’t believe
that doing is what we are to be about.
I am challenging us to a life of BEING—
Being Christ’s reflection. This would
revolutionize your church, your community,
your family, and your world. The way you
interact with others will be different if you are
reflecting Christ’s love. The way people see
us at work, at play and at home would be
different if we were being instead of doing.
Can you say to people, “Follow me as I
follow Christ” and then have those people
get closer to Christ through them following
you? Will they better understand His love
and character by following you?
I challenge you, every time you look into
a mirror, to ask yourself this question:
“Who/What am I reflecting into my world?”
We all will have a different way of
reflecting Christ, but we all can BE his
reflection.
Your community will be changed if you
will accept this challenge to be an accurate
reflection of Christ.

Roving Volunteers In Christ’s Service
“RVICS is a non-denominational Christian
organization for couples with a heart to serve the
Lord during their retirement years.Teams of up to 6
couples provide a wide variety of maintenance,
service, and construction assistance to needy
non-profit Christian children's homes, schools,
colleges, camps, conference centers, and churches.
Each work project is 3-1/2 to 4 weeks long,
scheduled in warmer climates during the winter
months, and cooler locations the remainder of the
year. Members are encouraged to serve a minimum
of 3 projects, or up to 8 or 9 projects a year, January
through November, with a 3-to-4-week Christmas
furlough. Summer projects are scheduled for those
who can serve at that time.” (From www.rvics.com)
Roxbury Camp has been privileged to have an
RVICS team serve for the past month. What a
blessing it has been to have these volunteers help
with various projects around the camp.

Thank
The Berean Bridge Rebuild
Camp Meeting
began assisting with several projects around the
camp. Four other couples joined them at the
beginning of September, and they have all been
diligently working on a project at the Byers
Conference Center (see pictures below).
The volunteers not only worked hard, but did so
with smiles on their faces. Their love of serving the
Lord, and others, was thoroughly evident.
The Roxbury Camp Staff would like to thank:
Glenn & Joyce Ginder, Stan & Cynde Bialorucki, Ray
& Nettie Dunmyer, LeRoy & Arlene Martin and Ray &
Nonie Moody for all of their hard work. It has been
such a pleasure getting to know you all. May the Lord
bless you as you continue to do His good work.
