Since 1977, the name DGS has become synonymous with
service and value. Formed in the very early days of double
glazing technology, our focus on technical expertise and
customer satisfaction has lead to the development of
today’s highly successful multi-million pound business.
There are 11 strategically placed branches, including over
120,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space
at our head office in Derbyshire and across the country.
We have our own fleet of 40 vehicles out daily delivering
throughout the UK and Ireland.
As environmental and security matters have become
increasingly pressing and are enforced by legislation, a
prime focus of DGS is to carefully monitor legislative and
technical trends in the industry. We constantly work with
innovative suppliers throughout the UK, Europe and beyond
enabling us to offer the latest technological solutions. Our
up-to-date knowledge makes it possible for us to offer
products which will enable you to comply with current and
known future specifications.

windows with Eurogroove
(9.3mm + 0.7/-0.2mm).
Security Cams
Adjustable mushroom cams are an integral
part of Elite Open Out Hardware. They
provide extra security and allow for easy
adjustment of compression to achieve
perfect weather seal.
Universal Routing
For ease of fabrication there is one
UNIVERSAL ROUTING detail across all Elite
casement products.
Surface Protection
Elite hardware delivers the very best
corrosion resistance in the market,
exceeding Grade 5 of BS EN1670, which is
minimum 480 hours exposure to salt spray.
Manufacture

- DGS quality and reliability is recognised everywhere;
DGS friction stays are designed and manufactured under the
ISO 9001:2000 quality standard and are Secured by Design
registered. In house testing is routinely carried out on all
ranges up to 20,000 cycles (equivalent to 100 years use) and
performance is further endorsed by the BSI.
DGS is a supplier of friction stays to and is specified by many
local authorities. All DGS friction hinges are made to be fitted
with the minimum of effort and slotted fixing holes allow for
maximum adjustment. Window security, fire or emergency exit,
safety restriction, easy cleaning and anti-corrosion: all come
within the scope of DGS friction stays

Integrated Restrictor
Trade Friction Stay - Integrated Restrictor
Opening windows carry the risk that a person might
fall out of them. A safety restrictor makes this much
more unlikely by initially restricting the opening to a
fixed position. Opening beyond this initial position
is achieved by operating the safety restrictor release
mechanism. It is strongly recommended that safety
restrictors are used in pairs.

Supplied as a complete package, the internal mechanism has a number of control options

user. The external canopy is supplied with an integral flyscreen and provides excellent weather
protection.
Aesthetically pleasing and manufactured from rigid PVCu, the S Vent is simply screw fixed to the
window frame and is supplied with push fit screw covers to conceal fixing points. The S Vent is
available in a range of colours and can be supplied with differing internal and external colours.

Front Operation
A front mounted shutter option is available on all S Vent
models and that providing easy controllable ventilation.
Bottom Operation
A central bottom mounted shutter is available on 3000 and
4000 models only and reduces the possibility of damage to the
vent during transit. The internal shutters can also be removed
to provide permanent trickle ventilation.

Greenwood L Vent provides an unobtrusive ventilation
solution in line with current Building Regulations and has been designed for use on low profile
window frames with limited slot heights.
The internal mechanism is controlled via a bottom-mounted lever and the external canopy is
supplied with an integral flyscreen. The hooded exterior cover prevents weather ingress. The L
Vent is manufactured from rigid PVCu and is available in 2000 and 4000 models providing 1600
and 3200 equivalent area respectively and a choice of colours. The 2000L also offers a noise
reduction of 37dB when in the open position thereby providing a high level of sound reduction.
Supplied as a complete unit, the L Vent can be simply screw fixed to the window and end caps
are provided to snap into place to conceal fixing points.

The GB Vent has been designed to meet the Building
Regulations requirements for the permanent supply of
combustion air and complies to BS 5440 Part 2: 2000.
Available in a 5000mm2 model, the inner vent is inverted to deflect the supply of air upwards and
the external unit is hooded to prevent weather ingress. The GB Vent can be used as a throughframe, glazed-in or over-frame ventilator. Supplied as a complete package and manufactured
from PVCu, the vent is designed for screw fixing and is available in white.

Product Performance
A non-adjustable ventilator designed to allow the passage of air at all times. The ventilator must
be fitted with apertures that prevent the entry of a 10mm diameter ball, but allow the entry
of a 5mm diameter ball. No gauze or screen should be incorporated or fitted. Greenwood’s GB
ventilator has been tested and conforms to BS 5440 Part 2: 2000 and requirements laid down in
current Building Regulations.

that differ in application and adjusting capabilities.
Coating Specification
RotoSil surface protection procedure has been developed by Roto for the hardware product
range, based upon galvanising, chromating and an additional sealing. RotoSil enables the
hardware components to appear in a smooth silver tone. The quality requirements of RAL-RG
607/3 are exceeded, also the protection effect against acids has been decisively improved. The
surface protection regulations of the RAL quality assurance association in Velbert, Germany are
more than fulfilled. Surface protection with RotoSil exceeds the requirements of the following
standards:
55 RAL 607/3 (72 hours protection from white rust and 240 hours protection against red rust.
Inclusive of cycle testing to 60,000 cycles).
55 BS 6375 pt. 2 “Performance of Windows.”
55 BS EN 1670:2007 part 5.6, grade 5 (480 hours building hardware corrosion resistance).
