IS GOD TAKING BACK HOLLYWOOD?
By
Brad Wilson
Recently someone said to me “God is taking back Hollywood.” I’m
not sure God ever had control of Hollywood! HOWEVER I believe with all
of my heart that God is using Hollywood more and more to expose the world
to his love and grace. Each day I am amazed at how regular lay people like me
are being called into the business of making movies or TV shows for the
Kingdom.
Years ago I was blessed to meet Warren Litzman. Brother Litzman has
devoted the past 40 years of his life studying and teaching on Paul’s Epistles.
When I was a young boy of 16 years old Brother Litzman would tell us young
folks how in the end the last person on this earth will come to know the name
Jesus. I thought “well that’s interesting” and went along with my business.
Now as I go into my 30th year of making films and being involved with the
production of some 37 films to date I get it! Of course! It’s through the media
and films that the good news of Jesus will reach the last person on earth by the
end. It all makes sense! I’ve seen the photos of the tents in some far away
country with TV antennas. Those antennas will receive the movies or TV
shows and even the music that will tell them of our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ.
What an overwhelming honor and responsibility to be placed into a position to make films that will
influence and effect people around the world. People will see my films and others in countries half way around
the world that I will never meet in this lifetime. Do I feel a responsibility? You bet I do! I want to be responsible
for what God has entrusted me to do. What I don’t necessarily want to do is “preach to the choir.” I believe that
fellow believers will see films that they know are faith based. Not necessarily so for the non-believers. So I have
to think and pray about what I do and ask for guidance in how I present the films that I do. To make a good film
with a great story is the key AND then bring in a great faith based, positive message to people that would not
necessarily get the message. It’s a delicate walk but one that if done right will have a profound outcome. People
are skeptical of “religion” and many don’t want any part of it. But if I and others can present a film that entertains
and does not hit them over the head with “religion” then I believe success in exposing people to faith and the grace
of God will be found. At least I pray so.
Is God taking Hollywood back? Well one might think in this direction when they see big studios trying
to jump on the faith bandwagon. That all really started after Mel Gibson’s “THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST.”
The truth is everyone in Hollywood turned that movie down. Then Mr. Gibson reached in his own pocket and
financed it. Then when the film started making the big bucks Hollywood took notice and decided to put their foot
in the water. It was not because of the right reasons, however they did it and at the end of the day anyway God
can get the message out is good. That’s what we have to remember.
To date I’ve produced many faith based films…more than some. Some of my films have hit the audience
over the head but as I move forward I realize that these films must be opened up to the non-believer in order to
do what we have been chosen to do.
I like www.christiancinema.com as a place to shop and find good faith base and, family films. I know the
people there and they have a good heart. AND of course I appreciate them carrying some of my films. They are
very fair and I know that would be safe ground for you to shop.

Happy New Year!
from Western New York
or should I say Buffalo?
I guess you have heard about the lake effect snow
storm we had here in November. Can you believe
opening your front door and have a seven foot
wall of snow. Where I live we only had three
inches but go south about 5 miles and you could
find snow, snow and more snow.
The picture above is me doing my show, Sunday Singalong from the WDCX Radio studio. If you get a chance
to tune us in just go to www.wdcxradio.com and click on listen live. We are there every Sunday afternoon three
to five Eastern time. Since moving to Buffalo I have had the chance to introduce Southern Gospel, Christian
Gospel and Bluegrass Gospel to the greater Buffalo area.
Now across the border into Canada it’s a whole different story. The Canadians are big lovers of Southern Gospel
music. Due to WDCX Radio 110,000 watts which reaches around seven million people, Country Gospel is really
taken off.
I have a good friend who is a pastor in St. Catarines Ontario Canada. He has a Gospel singing starting in June
every Sunday night at his Church and runs through September. For 2015 he is looking to include several Country
artists in his line up. Who knows, some of the artists I have been playing on Sunday Singalong may be in Canada
this year.
That’s all for now and keep in touch and I’ll do the same. So until next month remember GOD loves you and so
do we. Be a witness! let others see JESUS in you!

A Man Of Integrity
Allen Frizzell
We all want a good legacy. It would be sad to finish out one’s
life with no favorable memory. Being a member of the Frizzell
family, who is “Country Music Royalty”, does not guarantee
your mark. Allen has had great success in the country music
business. He has toured with the big names, written songs for
many major recording artist and signed a record deal with Sony.
Allen is a man of integrity and loyalty. He has a beautiful family
that is a part of the ministry that he does. When he felt the call
to go out into the world and sing songs about Jesus, he did not
hesitate nor ask for a fleece. He left a very busy recording studio
and publishing company and said “here I am Lord, send me”.
He and his beautiful wife Gayle began to travel the country.
Always eager to go any place that requested their ministry. In
the early part of their travel, the whole family went and took part
in the music.
A rear-end accident in 2011 left Allen with a severe back injury.
He was unable to travel and minister for about 18 months. This
was a trying test of his faith. I never heard him say quit or pity,
pity me. He would say “ it has been really tough, but we are
going to make it”.
Visit Allen on the web at:
www.allenfrizzell.com
Very much a perfectionist, the quality and quantity of his
program is the same for 30 or 300 people. Whether in
preforming, song writing, or recording, he feels that whatever
you have to offer should be your very best. Awards and
accolades do not drive Allen. The most exciting thing for him is
a report that a lost soul came home after listening to one of his
many recorded Christian songs on the radio, or at one of his
Christian music concerts. Listen to Allen’s CD’s on Allen
Frizzell.com. Better Yet bless your church by inviting Allen to
minister in your Home Town. Contact Allen at 615-477-6825 or
email him at:

What a privilage it is to call him my friend.

THE PRINCIPLE OF PREPARING TO CROSS JORDAN
By Pastor Dr. Doug DeRamus
I encourage you to read both chapter 3 and chapter 4 of the book of Joshua. The rending of the river Jordan corresponds
to the rending of the veil at the death of Jesus on the cross.
1 Cor 10:1-2 (1) Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the
cloud, and all passed through the sea; (2) And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; (KJV)
This Nation had been BAPTIZED INTO MOSES in the RED SEA (Baptism in water) and in the CLOUD (Holy Ghost
Baptism). Now they were to move out of the FEAST OF PENTECOST and into the FEAST OF TABERNACLES. Israel was
now prepared to experience a THIRD BAPTISM.
We have 3 main feast: (1) PASSOVER - experienced in EGYPT, and it is a type of salvation. (2) PENTECOST - experienced
in the WILDERNESS, and it is a type of anointing of the Spirit. (3) TABERNACLES - experienced in the PROMISED LAND,
and it is a type of adoption, fullness of the Spirit and inheritance.
Hebrews 6: 1-2 ... doctrine of baptisms...
They were baptized into Moses in the Red Sea, now - they were going to be baptized into Joshua in Jordan. This THIRD
BAPTISM is a baptism of FIRE that brings God's people into a new dimension of spiritual WARFARE. It is a kind of warfare
in which you learn to REST in HIM while He fights your battles THROUGH YOUR OBEDIENCE. This THIRD BAPTISM also
brings you into a new dimension of the OVERCOMING LIFE. Moses the Shepherd gives way to Joshua the Soldier.
We see both the qualities of ORGANIZATION and the ability to HEAR THE VOICE OF GOD in Joshua. Josh. 3:1 - Joshua
rose early in the morning (new day). They moved from the comfortable land of PENTECOST and came to Jordan (the Veil
and full identification with His death).
Josh 3:1-2 (1) And Joshua rose early in the morning; and they removed from Shittim, and came to Jordan, he and
all the children of Israel, and lodged there before they passed over. (2) And it came to pass after three days, that
the officers went through the host; (KJV)
God gives this new generation ample time to contemplate the impossible. (1) Jordan is overflowing its banks. (2) Jericho is
next and it is walled and shut up. God let them look at the impossible for three days. SOMETIMES God will let you stare at
the IMPOSSIBLE for a while--- until you realize you can't do it and you see your helplessness. You learn in this -- to turn to
HIM.
Jordan has been estimated at the flood stage to be as wide as a football field, up to a mile wide with the waters rushing
down at 10 miles per hour.
In Joshua 3:3 here we have the CENTRAL FIGURE of this drama. The ARK. It is mentioned 10 times in Joshua chapter 3
and 7 times in Joshua chapter 4. It represents Jesus Christ in His Lordship. Our risen, exalted, overcoming Head. The ARK
denoted, His Government, Power, Glory, Presence, and Throne. When you see GOD-ORDAINED ministry carrying the
ARK toward the impossible --- "Get up and follow". ...remove from your place and go after it.
Josh 3:3 - And they commanded the people, saying, When ye see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God,
and the priests the Levites bearing it, then ye shall remove from your place, and go after it. (KJV)
Josh 3:4 - Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure: come not near
unto it, that ye may know the way by which ye must go: for ye have not passed this way heretofore. (KJV)
The space of 2000 cubits represents 2000 years ago Jesus, the ARK conquered death and now it is time to follow. ---Jos.1:5 "sanctify yourselves". The Amplified version says, "separate yourselves for special Holy purpose". (1) It's not time
for our MINDS TO WONDER. (2) It's not time to focus on your FUTURE IN THE WILDERNESS. (3) It's time to be sober,
be vigilant. (4) It's time to have great expectations because the Lord is going to do wonders.
Josh 3:6 - And Joshua spake unto the priests, saying, Take up the ark of the covenant, and pass over before the
people. And they took up the ark of the covenant, and went before the people. (KJV) The people were commanded
by Joshua (Jesus) to FOLLOW the Priest as far as they carried the ARK -- but-- no -- farther. The principle: We follow the
Ministry only as they uphold and exemplify, illustrate the ARK.

From acclaimed director Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Prometheus) comes the epic adventure
EXODUS: GODS AND KINGS,
the story of one man’s daring courage to take on the might of an empire. Using state of the art visual
effects and 3D immersion, Scott brings new life to the story of the defiant leader Moses (Christian

Ray Price
Lone Star Legend’s Faithful Finale
“I believe above the storm, the smallest prayer can
still be heard,” sings the iconic Ray Price on his
adaptation of I Believe from AmeriMonte Records
release Beauty Is…the final sessions. When he
decided to record this final project, this Country Music
Hall of Fame member would be tackling the strongest
storm he would ever face, pancreatic cancer.
Through the emotional distress, debilitating treatments and the inescapable outcome, he had the
unwavering support of his wife of 43 years, Mrs. Janie
Price.
One would expect that when presented with that life
altering news that you would want to spend your final
days at home with your family. However, due to the
power of prayer from his passionate fan base and his
own faith in the Lord, he made a unique and PRICEless choice.
“’I want to cut another album,” recalls Janie from a
conversation with Ray. “It was his love of music that
carried him back into the studio and brought him out
of this sadness that we’d fallen into.”
When it came time to choose songs with renown
producer Fred Foster (Larry Gatlin, Dolly Parton, Roy
Orbison, Kris Kristofferson), Ray himself said he
wanted to do a version of the Ervin Drake, Irvin
Graham, Jimmy Shirl and Al Stillman classic I Believe.
“Ray knew the power of prayer and I could see his
faith in his eyes every day,” recalls his wife Janie
Price. “I would sit at his hospital bed and read the
prayers that fans were leaving on his Facebook page
and you could see not only a spiritual, but even a
physical change in him. Those prayers and his faith
are what got him through this final record.”
It would take five recording sessions for Ray to put the
final vocal touches on this album. Janie, a spouse that
preferred to stay out of the spotlight, almost never had
a deciding vote on his song choice. Consequently, to
inspire an entire album was never anything that she
would have expect to unfold. Janie remembers a
special drive home from a therapy session.
“I think it’s one of the greatest things I’ve ever recorded. The whole CD is twelve fantastic, great
songs. When it starts, everyone claims you can’t stop
listening to it. Everyone goes back and starts it over.
And that’s a good sign." -RAY PRICE
“Fred called and was speaking with Ray. Then he
asked to speak with me and said ‘We’ve got it all
done, but I have one question. How does it feel to be
the most loved woman in the world?’ I said ‘What do
you mean?’ Then Fred said, ‘Ray told me that he was
dedicating this album to you.’”
Janie was so overwhelmed that she had to pull over
into a Wal-Green parking lot. Ray turned to his wife
and said “I’ve done this for you. I want you to have it
to listen to when I’m not here, to hear me telling you
how much I love you.”
Ray Price fans are eternally grateful that she chose
to share this personal project with the world. The
conviction and caress of Ray’s delivery on Beauty
Is...the final sessions proves that with faith and
family support he could find the light even in the
darkest storm.

Mike & Doris Merritt
Detours
The Cowboy Way of Life has always been a strong magnet for Mike and Doris Merritt.
Sure, there’s the romantic view of the West as seen in Hollywood movies, but for the
Merritts it’s more than just riding horses across the wide open country under a great, big
sky.
“There’s a certain code of ethics
and values that remain out here,”
says Mike, who grew up in Texas.
“Not that everyone here is perfect,
but the underlying, unspoken rule
of thumb is that the Western way
of life is more about how you live,
not where you live.”
Now based in Oklahoma, the
Merritts bring a fresh, positive
message to their first ever duo
album, Detours, and it’s a theme
that mirrors the cowboy ministry
the two have built over the past
several years.
“We live in a ‘cowboy’ environment by
choice,” Mike explains. “There’s something
very special about the values shared in this
community, and
you can see it every day in the way people treat
one another. You see it in their work ethic, and
love of their country. The highest badge of honor
you can wear is being known as someone who is
honest, a man of his word. These are very godly
characteristics, and we love being a part of it.”
“We tried to put together a collection of songs
that reflect the things we love about this life,”
Doris, a native of Nashville, adds. “This album
is exciting because we feel it will give us the
chance to expand what this ministry has
become. We are hoping it opens doors.”
Growing up in Texas, Mike learned the life of a
cowboy working on ranches, riding bulls and rodeoing, honing his skills as a musician playing
with an award-winning Texas band. Today, he is
the preacher at the Cowboy Crossing Church in
Hugo, Oklahoma. The church music director,
Doris is likewise no stranger to the music
business, having been part of the popular 80s
Country group, Girls Next Door, enjoying charttopping success with such songs as “Slow Boat To
China” and “Love Will Get You Through Times of
No Money.” “That song was requested on
Christian radio as well as Country radio,” Doris
recalls. “That was confirmation that we were
where God wanted us to be and He had his hand
on us even back then.”
Produced by acclaimed Christian musician Ron Hemby (The
Imperials), the Merritts recruited
steel / dobro legend Al Perkins
(The Flying Burrito Brothers),
multi-instrumentalist
Andy
Leftwich (Ricky Skaggs), fiddler
Gail
Johnson,
multiinstrumentalists Bruce Watkins
(Dolly Parton), pianist Dirk
Johnson (Gene Watson), guitarist
Tom Hemby (Amy Grant) and
drummer Bobby Blazier (Michael
Martin Murphey).
“I was amazed at how many talented writers let
us record their music,” Doris says. “Michael
Martin Murphey spent so much time with us
after surprising us in the studio to sing on his
song ‘The Kill Pen.’ That was wonderful.”
Among the other writers represented on Detours are Paul Overstreet and Don Schlitz (“I
Won’t Take Less Than Your Love”), Bill Mack
(“Cling To A Saving Hand”), Roy Robinson
(“The Cowboy Song”), Eric Horner (“Watch
Over Those Who Are Watching Over Me”) and
Dan Roberts (“Horses In Heaven”). The title
track was a hit for Spade Cooley in 1946,
spending 11 weeks on the country charts, while
“May The Good Lord Take A Likin’ To Ya’” was
written by none other than Roy Rogers and Dale
Evans. “’The Place Where I Worship’ (Fay
Foster, Al Goodhart, Florence Tarr) is perfect
for us,” Doris says. “The lyric sure fits the
‘cowboy lifestyle.’”
A highlight of the album is the reunion of the
Girls Next Door (Cindy Nixon Psanos, Tammy
Stephens Smith, Diane Williams Austin) on the
Ira Stanphill classic “I Know Who Holds
Tomorrow,” and the Overstreet, Fred Carpenter
and BIlly Prince gem “Till The Answer Comes
(Gotta Keep Praying).” It’s also a treat to hear
them reprise their hit, “Love Will Get You
Through Times Of No Money.”
“This is an extraordinary time for us,” says
Mike. “God is positive, and that’s what we are
trying to show. That’s what we find in this way of
life, and we want everybody to know about it.”

New Year's Prayer
by Charlotte Anselmo
Thank you Lord for giving me the brand new year ahead.
Help me live the way I should as each new day I tread.
Give me gentle wisdom that I might help a friend.
Give me strength and courage so a shoulder I might lend.
The year ahead is empty. Help me fill it with good things.
Each new day filled with joy and the happiness it brings.
Please give the leaders of our world a courage born of peace
that they might lead us gently and all the fighting cease.
Please give to all upon this earth a heart that's filled with love,
a gentle happy way to live with Your blessings from above.
In Jesus’ name we pray,
Amen
One of the most important electronic gadgets to be invented in the last 100 years
is radio. More than two million people listen to radio each week. It's an amazing thought
that with just a flip of a switch in a car, home or office that people from all walks of life can
be reached at any moment.
My fascination with radio broadcasting began as a young boy when I would sit in
a studio and watch my Dad do his radio shows. He would call me "his little engineer" as I
would wear headphones that were bigger than my head. At age 15 I began my professional
radio broadcasting career and I have been blessed to have been on the air in Gospel radio
for over 35 continuous years.
Some of you reading this article may know me not from radio but as a recording
artist. I've been blessed to be on both sides. So it's from that perspective that I share my
thoughts in this series.
Jesus said in Matthew 10:27 to proclaim his message from the "housetops" of course I'm biased and I think Jesus is
talking about broadcasting. When I think of that moment when a DJ hits the play button on a song, they could be turning a light
on in someone's dark world. Depending on the power of the song, but that 3-4 mins of time could be eternally remembered and
life changing.
Reaching the most people to tell the greatest story should be the ultimate goal for any Gospel singing artist. A radio single
should be prayerfully and carefully selected by an artist or record company. It should be evaluated on the basis of; "if I could reach
the whole world what would I want to tell them?" The message really does matter from heavens point of view. Then there is the
quality of the voice and overall production. The musical presentation should draw awareness to the message but a poor vocal or
production can be a distraction.
Until we meet in the air or On The Air.

God’s Will For Us
by Jimmy R. Price
Many times I have experienced people who don’t seem to
have a clue about what God’s will is for their lives. I believe
that the Lord has a very specific calling on many people’s lives,
such as a preaching, teaching, singing or evangelistic ministry.
I also believe that God has a general will for every believer, some things that each of us must do to be in His will.
The Apostle Paul explains it this way in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18; he says, “Rejoice evermore. Pray without
ceasing. In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
Rejoice Evermore. To rejoice means to outwardly express the inward joy that you have. Joy only comes from
a personal walk with Jesus! Happiness comes about when you are experiencing something good or fun happening
to you. God’s will is not necessarily for us to be happy, but to be joyful. Joy is a “fruit of the Spirit.” We must
express our joy always, in every situation!
Pray without Ceasing. Prayer is the most powerful tool that believers have. However, many times we only
use it in an emergency situation, like God is our 9-1-1 hotline. Certainly God wants us to call on Him in our time
of need, but prayer should be much more than that. Prayer is communicating with God, an on-going conversation
with Him, not just telling Him what He needs to do for us. A conversation includes talking and listening. Our
prayer life should be constant (without ceasing).
In Everything Give Thanks: It is easy to give thanks to God for all His blessings that He so freely gives to us.
It is more difficult though, to thank Him when things are not going so well. Paul tells us however, that we must
be thankful for everything.
Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who
are the called according to his purpose.”
God will make everything work for our good when we love Him. Especially in the bad times we must thank
Him for what He is going to do to make it good. This is God’s will.
Rejoice – Pray – Give Thanks – Always!
We are so thankful for all the blessings the Lord Jesus
has given to us this past 2014. He has not only blessed
us with several Top 10 charting songs, but also has
blessed us with many new friends that share the love of
Christ in their ministry as we do.
As a pastor, songwriter, and Christian recording artist
my family and I know the sacrifices that all of you must
make to bring the good news message to the world that
JESUS loves you. Our family prays that your ministries
and ours will be abundantly blessed in this new year of
2015. More important, that through our efforts, all will
come to know Christ.

Christian Servant Magazine - January, 2015 - 15
Throughout the year in each issue we will spotlight different women of Country Gospel Music,
such as Joy Roberts, Beverly Mosley-Crocker, Melanie Walker, Tammy Bogel, Kristi Miller,
Gena Roberts Hamilton, Ava L. Kassich, Mary Fay Jackson, and many, many, more . Stories
of the many blessings, strifes, joys, sorrows, and general ups and downs of female artists in
our industry. Being a woman of Christ includes being a wife, mother, business woman, choir
leader, nurse to children and husbands alike. A Godly woman has to wear many hats a day,
even so, they find time to use their anointed gifts of talent to glorify Christ. These special
ladies, God has allowed to touch our hearts, and deliver a message of his love, hope and
grace through Country Gospel Music. Between all of the above mentioned, they find time for
booking Churches, special events, and traveling from one place to the next, keeping a Christ
like attitude at all times. To say the least it is all very rewarding, and tasking all at once. So
please follow along as we take our journey through the lives of some very special women of
Christ. This month I want us to ponder on what is God’s plan for each and every one of us.
Which brings me to a woman beautiful from the inside out shining bright for Christ, through the
good and not so good times.
Angela Rowe
Beverly Mosley Crocker
Beverly Mosley-Crocker, grew up on a small ranch, with music
being a big part of her life. Her grandfather, Red Copeland, played fiddle
with Bob Wills, along with many other family members who played
various instruments. Bev would sing and dance for family gatherings,
reunions, and the such. Beverly knew at a young age she would be called
to be a servant of God through music.
A true servant of Christ, Bev has been married to Kenneth Crocker
for 24 years, is mother to Ken Allen Crocker Jr. & Cynthia Jean (who
resides with Jesus now). She’s a teacher, Christian mentor and counselor
to the homeless, abused, lonely and rejected just to name a few. Her
favorite ministry outside of music is praying with and for people. Bev’s
primary goal is to bring souls to Christ.
Now for Beverly’s ministry life, her desire is that her ministry is
all about, for, and exemplifies Jesus. She has been blessed beyond measure
through the last 15 years. Her professional music career began with taking
voice lessons in 1996, singing with the group "Walking By Faith " at
various venues and churches in Central Texas.
In 2008 doctors diagnosed her with TB/ Cancer. This changed Bev’s life forever. She remembers finding herself on I-35
a feeder road in Ross, Texas on her way to voice lessons. She remembers asking God why He would do this? She remembers
crying and praying to God. While praying God began writing the song “I’m Not Alone”. The song wasn’t finished until 2009.
Walking by Faith was nominated as music group of the year with The Music Artist Association of Central Texas. Walking by
Faith disassembled due to health and relocation. In May 2012, Beverly began her solo career and signed with Tate Music Group.
Her debut album released on May 28, 2013. Since the release, her song “I’m Not Alone” was picked up by Canyon Creek
Records and released to radio stations across the United States. It reached #14 in Cashbox Magazine, #14 on The Christian
Servant " Country For The Good Life " Top 100 and charted very high in the Christian Voice Magazine. God has used the song
to reach many hearts and souls. Right now "I’m Not Alone" is being tagged to a video to help young ladies realize that through
CHRIST there is life abundantly.
Her greatest joy, was when she was given the Servant Award at Agapefest 2014. “What a blessing it was to be considered
a servant by many of my friends in the Country Gospel music industry”. Beverly, says she is inspired by all of the ladies( her
sisters) in Country Gospel Music. “It is hard to pick one because each have been more than kind and helpful.” As for the Country
Gospel Brothers, each one means the world to her. She feels blessed to be a part of the Country Gospel Music field.
Last but not least, this is my favorite quote from her. “I want to get to Heaven and hear my Father say, ‘Well done good
and faithful servant’.” We who know Beverly Mosley-Crocker know that God will open those gates for her one day and she will
sing with the angels. For now we are honored to know a woman who loves the Lord, and loves seeing souls brought to Christ,
because of that special gift that He gave her, the voice of a angel.

Christ Has Another Warrior
by Tommy Smith
I first met Jamie Lynn about three years ago at a benefit concert we both performed at. She was singing praise
songs with sound tracks she had purchased from Christian bookstores. She had a beautiful voice and her tone
quality and range caught my ear. Being a record producer, I am always listening to other artists not with a critical
heart, but what could be done to help them to achieve their goals and become the best they can be with their
anointed talent. While listening to Jamie I heard her perform those praise songs, with a twinge of a little Country
and Bluegrass quality in her voice. After the concert I asked her if she ever heard of Sonya Isaac. She said I love
that kind of music. She is one of my favorites. She went on to tell me that she was from Louisiana and she was
raised on Country and Bluegrass music. This caught me a little off guard because Jamie was 30 yrs. of age at that
time, and it has been my experience that so many young artists have shied away from Country music, especially
County Gospel. Churches all across America have replaced Gospel music with today’s Christian Rock, Rap, or
Christian Praise. So many of the young Christian artists have bought in to that scene and will not try anything
else. That, to me, is sad. I have been in the music industry for over fifty years and I can tell you I love all styles
of music as long as it is good. Jamie conveyed to me she felt the same way.
This past year I got a call from a friend that said, “Tommy, the Lord gave me a song. Do you remember Jamie
Lynn Flanakin?” I said that I did. You just don’t forget talent that is that good. He said, “I asked Jamie to cut this
song. Would you listen to it and tell me if you could promote her on Canyon Creek Records.?” He sent me the
track and I fell in love with the song and the way Jamie performed the song. Earlier in this article I said I listen
without a critical heart, but if the quality isn’t there and the arrangement isn’t right, I will express my opinion.
Most of the time even after someone says, “I want your honest opinion”, they don’t, and will get upset. I
explained to the producer and songwriter, Richard Mabry that I thought the studio cut was not strong enough and
did not have the quality to get radio to play it. I told him of a studio with a reasonable budget that he could use
and he went after it. The song came back strong as garlic. God had his hand all over this project. We released
“When My Room Is Ready” by Jamie Lynn Flanakin to radio the later part of 2014 and it has climbed all the way
up to song #10 in the Christian Servant Magazine, “Country For The Good Life Top 100” for January 2015. I
look for this girl to become one of the Top female vocalists in the Christian music field.
I took this info from Jamie’s Bio on her website and would like to share it with you. “At the age of three I began
singing ‘He’s Still Working On Me’ which is now an anthem to my life. Thank goodness the Lord placed a desire
in my heart at the age of nine to sing professionally. I was saved at an early time in my life, but strayed very far
away from the Lord. I never thought He would take me back. I’m so thankful that He showed me mercy. Romans
5:20 - But where sin abounded grace did much more abound. Wow Christ is so good. It is an honor and privilege
to serve Him in all that I do. It is my hearts desire to lift others up to Christ in their tough times of life. Jesus
saves and will never leave you alone in any situation”.

Cassidy Taylor
by Tommy Smith
It brings joy to my heart to see so many young artists use
their talents to serve Christ. Not only do they use their
musical talent, but they also bring the word of God without
fear to a world that needs to hear it more now than ever.
These young people are willing to carry the Cross, whatever
the cost may be. Such is the case of nineteen year old
Cassidy Taylor.
Cassidy is new to the Christian music industry. Her first
release to radio “You Are Love” will not only be a chart
topper, but I believe will minister to millions, she is just that
anointed. She was introduced to me by her producer and my
long time friend, Jimmy Jack Whitaker. He also wrote the
song, “You Are Love”.
Both are from the great state of Oklahoma and both are proud to be called “Sooners”. Cassidy will tell you right
quick, she was born a Sooner and will die a Sooner. Speaking of Sooners, Cassidy is attending the University of
Oklahoma and is majoring in Public Relations.
Her Mom and Dad, Todd and Deatra Huckabay, are very proud that Cassidy knows what she wants out of life and
is willing to work for it. Cassidy has been singing since the age of seven and she soon found herself singing at her
church and special events. She told me that she loves to sing and write, but never thought of herself having a
music career filled with stardom and wealth. On the other hand her older brother Eric would tell her, “With your
talent you're going to be a star one day.”
With a special sound of love in her voice she said “My brother was in a fatal car wreck and went home to be with
the Lord at the very young age of nineteen. That's the same age I am now. We were very close,” she said.
“Though I miss him I feel his spirit is always with me. I know that he is proud that I chose to use my talent to sing
for Christ.”
Cassidy’s new project titled “Cassidy Taylor” is a winner. Her style is country mixed with praise and is definitely
a CD that whether you’re young or old is going to touch your heart. Being in the music industry over fifty years,
I know when God has called someone. Having talked with Cassidy and listening to her project, it is evident she
has been called. To contact Cassidy, you may email her at: [email protected]

Kevin Rowe and
Prodigal Sons
by Tommy Smith
Something I have noticed about talented people,
whether they are musicians, writers, or actors,
the great ones so many times share the same
personality traits and lifestyle background. I
remember an interview Ralph Emory did with
the country singer Roy Clark many years ago.
He asked Roy if he was a good student in
school? Roy answered, “I was not. I was a rebel
at heart and I knew at a very early age I was
going to have a career ‘picking and grinning’.”
So many times great artists do look at the world in a different way. They are not satisfied with the way
things are and they are determined to be a part of making the world a more joyful and better place for all. When
I interviewed Kevin Rowe I asked him if he was a good student in school? He answered, “No. I was a real rebel.”
He said, “Don’t get me wrong, I have always loved people and my parents Lola and Jessie made sure I attended
church every week. I can’t tell you why I had a rebel’s heart but I just always felt that what others felt was the
normal life did not seem normal to me.” He said that he had been playing the guitar and singing since he was in
grade school. He started his first band at the age of fourteen and has been a working musician ever since. Kevin,
like so many young musicians, chased after that neon rainbow for many years. He, like so many young artists
started living in the fast lane and took on some very bad habits. What he thought would be a life filled with highs
soon became a life filled with lows.
Kevin was more fortunate then many in his situation because as I said earlier his mother and dad made
sure that Kevin made it to church each week. He was introduced to a very powerful friend at an early age.
Someone you could count on through the good times as well as the bad. His name was Jesus. Kevin remembers
pulling off to the side of the road when he was at his lowest peak and asked his old friend to help him. He said I
told Jesus if you would deliver me from my alcohol and drug problems I will take the gift of music you gave me
and use it to serve you. God answered that prayer. God loves a rebel because he knows a rebel will work hard to
change this world. You see even Christ sees the world as a place we should not be happy with. He said we live
in this world but the believer is not part of this world. We are to be different than the world.
God answered Kevin’s prayer and Kevin kept his end of the bargain. He started writing and singing
Christian songs. He started a Christian band called Prodigal Sons and Christ went even further with the
agreement and gave Kevin a mate that shared his vision, Angela. The two and the band Prodigal Sons are leading
hundreds to Christ and planting seeds everyday to thousands.
God has blessed them with a new CD and their new single “I’m Gonna Have A Little Talk” is being
played on radio stations all over the world. It has charted at number seventeen for January 2015 in Cashbox
Magazine “Country Christian Top 100” and seventeen in the Christian Servant Magazine “Country For The Good
Life Top 100”. I love a story with a happy ending. If you want you’re story to have a happy ending. Give your
life to CHRIST.

A Maturing Believer
(Hebrews 5:12-14)
We believers, we followers of Jesus Christ must mature! We must
grow in Christ, so that we can be of use to our Heavenly Father. We
should not be dull of hearing the words of God. Being dull of
hearing is not a problem of the heart. It’s a spiritual problem. We
need growth in our spiritual life. As a child grows to become a
perfect adult, so we must grow to the full stature of Christ’s
perfection. Thru perseverance, patience, humility and faithfulness
we must strive to train ourselves to distinguish good from evil, right
from wrong and then proceed to do right and good! A life of doing
right is the wisest thing there is. (Proverbs 4:11) The ability to
discern is a critical measure of spiritual maturity. Only then can we
become a true witness and teacher of the oracles of God. *Only
then can we disciple others. Mature believers need to be about
helping and loving Gods children. You can’t say you love God and
not love his children. Our love for God is shown thru our capacity
to love and disciple others. We show our love for God when we
obey his word and heed to his calling on our lives.
The questions that every believer must ask himself is “ Can I be used for God? Am I a mature Believer?” There is much work to
be done, lets you and I make a commitment today to be a mature Christian and be about Gods business.
10 Marks of a maturing Believer
▪ Maturing Believers confess their sins regularly.
▪ Maturing Believers long to live as Jesus did.
▪ Maturing Believers hate the world and love their God.
▪ Maturing Believers sin less and less and live righteously more and more.
▪ Maturing Believers love others increasingly.
▪ Maturing Believers grow in their ability to refuse to compromise with the word.
▪ Maturing Believers grow in their knowledge of God’s word.
▪ Maturing Believers learn to discern right from wrong and do right.
▪ Maturing Believers learn to discern good from evil and avoids evil.
▪ Maturing Believers serve.
Jeremiah 9:23-24
This is what the Lord says. Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength or the rich man
boast of his riches, but let him who boasts, boast about this: That he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord, who
exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for these I delight, declares the Lord.

We give thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ for
using our ministry this past 2014 in such an
awesome way. He allowed us to plant seeds,
and made it possible through the Holy Spirit to
lead hundreds to CHRIST. We thank and
praise HIM for letting our first release to radio,
“I’m Going To Have A Little Talk” receive the
great response that it has from DJ’s and
listeners across America. Charting at number
17 in January’s edition of Christian Servant
Magazine’s “Country For The Good Life Top
100”, we believe with all our heart and soul
that Christ is going to bless our ministry in a
more powerful way than He ever has for this
new year of 2015. We would also like for all,
who are ministering either through music or
the written Word to know that we are praying
that mighty and great works for the Lord Jesus
will manifest because of your perseverance
and dedication to present His name to a lost
and dying world.
