Sr. Edith Mary Hart, RSM, DO is a member of the Religious Sisters of Mercy.
She is board-certified in Family Medicine and Geriatrics and currently practices
outpatient medicine in Jackson, Minnesota, at Sacred Heart Mercy Health Care
Center, where she is the Director of the Emergency Department and Trauma Services.
She is also the Director of Sanford Hospice and Good Samaritan Nursing Home. She
serves on several Catholic Medical Association committees advising on end of life
issues and spirituality.
Msgr. Roger Scheckel, a priest of the Diocese of La Crosse, was ordained to
the priesthood in 1984. He presently serves as pastor of The Assumption of the
Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Richland Center, and as dean of the Richland Center
Deanery. He is the Spiritual Advisor of the Marian Catechist Apostolate, and
recently completed his thirteen-year tenure as Director of the Mission Office for
the Diocese of La Crosse.
Valentyna Pavsyukova was born in 1983 in then-communist Ukraine and
raised without the benefit of religion. She emigrated to the United States at the age
of eighteen, coming to Medford, Wisconsin. Homesick and struggling, Valentyna
underwent a profound conversion and became Catholic in 2007. On fire with the
Faith, Valentyna discerned a missionary calling to her homeland. She founded
Chalice of Mercy, a medical mission that has helped to update antiquated healthcare
facilities and – most importantly – has led more than seven hundred Ukrainian
physicians on spiritual pilgrimages, powerfully affecting their lives and practices.
