"Prosseda shapes the music in long, elegant phrases that soar and compel utterly... This is the finest set
of Mendelssohn's Songs Without Words now available."
Classic FM magazine, 5* CD review, Jan '09.
Roberto Prosseda’s sensational discovery of new Mendelssohn works made headlines in Europe and
lead to seven Decca releases, including Mendelssohn’s Piano Concerto No. 3 with the Gewandhaus
Orchestra and Riccardo Chailly. His albums have won much acclaim in the press, including the CHOC
from Le Monde de la Musique Classique, the Diapason d’Or and Chamber Music CD of the Month in
the UK’s Classic FM magazine. In 2010, Deutsche Grammophon selected twelve recordings by
Prosseda to add to the box set, “Classic Gold”, released in May 2010.
Roberto Prosseda has performed regularly with some of the world’s most important orchestras, such as
the London Philharmonic Orchestra, New Japan Philharmonic, Moscow State Philharmonic, Bruxelles
Philharmonic, Calgary Philharmonic and the Leipzig Gewandhaus.
In 2011/2012 season Roberto Prosseda made his debut at the Concertgebouw (Mendelssohn Piano
Concerto No. 1), and reappeared in venues like the Berlin Philharmonie (Gounod Concerto for pianopédalier) and the Gewandhaus (Memdelssohn recital).
In September 2011, Prosseda gave his debut on the pedal piano, performing the Concerto for Pedal
Piano by Gounod in the world premiere version for modern instrument. He recorded Gounod’s
Concerto and Suite Concertante for Pedal Piano and orchestra with Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana
and Howard Shelley (Hyperion, release in fall 2013).
Roberto Prosseda with Moscow State Phihlarmonic and Tugan Sokhiev performing Schumann Piano
Concerto op. 54 di Schumann, recorded live at Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow by Russia TV.

Roberto Prosseda resurrects the Pedal-Piano!
The Italian pianist Roberto Prosseda has made history by performing on an
instrument which hasn't been heard for a hundred years - the pedal-piano. Prosseda
made his stunning performance debut on the long-lost instrument in September in the
Cathedral of Forlì.
Classic FM, October 2011

Philharmonie with Berliner Symphoniker, May 6, 2012.
Roberto Prosseda is currently the only pianist who plays the Pedal Piano in concert, also with
orchestra. He disovered four original works by Gounod for Pedal Piano and orchestra, which
he recorded for Hyperion label last October 2012 with Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana
dconducted by Howard Shelley. Prosseda plays his own pedalboard, “Pinchi Pedalpiano
System”,which can be connected to any grand piano. This allows to hos Pedal Piano concerts
in any venue in the world with limited shipping costs.

Family Concert: Robot – Pianist Teo Tronico with orchestra
Teo Tronico at Berlin Philharmonie with Berliner Symphoniker and Michelangelo Galeati, 26/8/2012
In March 2012 Roberto Prosseda launched a new project of concerts and lectures with
TeoTronico, a new robot built by Matteo Suzzi in Imola (Italy). Teo Tronico has 53 fingers
and so can play any work from the piano repertoire, on any normal piano. The robot has
dynamics and is controlled via Midi, so can repeat in real time the playing of a human
pianist connected from a digital piano. In this way the Robot can play Chopin's Andante
Spianato op. 22 for piano and orchestra, as it did in the Berlin Philharmonie on 26th August
2012: Roberto Prosseda was the "ghost-pianist" and only the robot will be onstage, playing
exactly what the real pianist plays backstage.
The robot speaks any language (he reads Word files or can be dubbed in real time) and has
funny facial expressions.
Teo Tronico can play any Mozart Concerto live with orchestra. Roberto Prosseda would be
the ghost pianist (the robot mirrors in real time what Roberto Prosseda plays on a digital
piano in the backstage)
