sun being strong as shit
this time of year with the
Midsommar Celebration.
On Friday, June 17, there
will be a catered Swedish
dinner at 5:30PM, followed
at 7PM by the premier of
the verse play Cow Calls
in Dalarna by local author
Bart Sutter. The musically
enthused performance recalls the herdswoman and
their pastures in the Swedish province of Dalarna.
On Saturday, June 18 at
10AM–5PM local artist Alison Aune and Ross Sutter
as well as the Swedish Cultural Society will lead kids
and adults in traditional
solstice activities and as
maypole dancing. In the
afternoon, Ross and Bart
Sutter will perform with
prose and music Greet the
Folks at Home, an exploration of immigrant experience. Tickets $5–10, call
