Freight Policy
Our policy is to manufacture most furniture locally in Christchurch.
However, some products are sourced from the North Island and a
minimum freight charge may apply. Freight is charged at cost and
covers packaging, delivery and insurance. Where practical, CES will
supply product ‘knocked-down’ (C.K.D.) to save on delivery costs.
Delivery Times
Many items are ex-stock. However, standard delivery timeframe
is four weeks except Sebel products, where a 6-8 week timeframe
applies.
Warranty
All products carry a ten year warranty against faulty workmanship
and materials.

Melteca / Melamine
Melteca is a tough melamine surface laminated to superfine particle board of medium density
fibre board (M.D.F). The resin on the top surface of the overlay cures, forming a tough, stainresistant finish. Available in an excellent range of colours, patterns and finishes.
Formica
Formica is a high pressure laminate made from layer of resin-impregnated paper covered with a
translucent overlay containing melamine. The layers are bonded under head and high pressure.
Formica is an extra-tough and extremely durable laminate for use in situations requiring surfaces
that are resistant to scratching and staining, totally hygienic, and virtually indestructible.
Available in a palette of over 230 colours and patterns in standard and decorative finishes.

Edge Finishing
Edges of laminate can be finished using coloured edge tapes, ridge PVC, T-edges, solid timber
clashing strips or direct platforming. Where the edges or corners are expected to take knocks, rigid
PVC edges are recommended. The colour laminate you select will determine the edge colour.
Other combination are available by request as a non-standard order. Please contact CES for
additional costs and lead time.

Some Recommendations...
TABLE HEIGHTS/PRODUCT ADVICE
Consideration should be given to the choice of laminate for horizontal surfaces. CES offers two
options: low-pressure laminate (Melteca and Melamine), or high-pressure laminate (Formica and
Wilson Art). Low-pressure laminates are adequate for general, low-impact use. However, if desks
or tables are to be situated in pre-schools, in areas where food and liquids are p[repared and/or
consumed, or where cutters or sharp instruments may be used we recommend the choice of
high-pressure laminates for tops of tables and desks.
CES does not recommend dark colours or gloss finishes for high wear applications. Dark colours or
gloss finishes require more care and maintenance than lighter coloured or lower gloss surfaces.
