This book is dedicated to the hundreds of wonderful young women
I have met in my classroom for over forty years, women whose stories,
joys and sorrows, insights and questions have been the inspiration
for this book. I will always remember the gift of their presence
in my life and wish for them and all women the enduring knowledge
and experience of the love of Christ who took women seriously.
