CLEAN TECHNOLOGIES AND
RENEWABLE ENERGY CENTER (CTREC)
MISSION
CTREC’s mission is to coordinate and expand DRI’s collective
capabilities and expertise in the areas of Renewable Energy research,
development, demonstration, and deployment (RDD&D). CTREC is a
credible, independent authority regarding the benefits and limitations
of renewable energy systems and their impacts upon the environment.
APPROACH
• Serve as the point of contact to DRI’s clean technology and
renewable energy research and services
• Provide a forum for information-sharing and opportunity-identification
in areas of Renewable Energy RDD&D
• Facilitate formation of interdisciplinary research teams across DRI’s
Science Divisions by promoting internal and external collaborations
• Promote DRI’s Renewable Energy interests and capabilities to
potential sponsors, businesses, and academic groups
RESEARCH THEMES
• Assessment of Renewable Energy resources
• Renewable/clean fuels
• Water/energy nexus
• Assessment of Renewable Energy systems
