STUBBEN Biomex* SADDLES
Stübben has partnered with Biomex* Technology Center, the leading hospital for
orthopedics and sports medicine in Switzerland, to create an innovative seat design that
greatly reduces a rider’s back pain. Introducing the Stübben Biomex*... it will revolutionize
your idea of a comfortable saddle.
Many riders (studies say over half) suffer from back pain, especially after they ride. When
riding on a horse, the force exerted on the spine flows mainly through the seat bones.
Pressure on these seat bones and the extremely sensitive soft tissues around them can
cause pain. The Stübben Biomex*
cushions the seat bones with two
kidney-shaped pads, which absorb
impact and relieve spinal stress. In
addition, the depression between the
kidney-shaped pads also plays a crucial
role, as it substantially lessens any
possible pressure on the soft tissues
surrounding the seat bones (see the oval
areas on the diagrams at the right). In
scientific comparisons with conventional
saddles, seat pressure measurements
at various gaits show that the Stübben
Biomex* provides much greater relief in

Reliability, strength, and impulse define this jumping saddle that features doubled,
textured, ultra-soft leather in the flaps, seat and jockey skirts. The Portos Deluxe has
a newly designed seat based on our state of the art saddle tree technology and is
equipped with “snug” panels, and comes in two seat sizes, four colors, seven tree

The ultimate jumping saddle, the Roxane S is a deep seat, square cantle saddle
that features matching panels and large blocks in both the front and rear. It offers
great security while using softer leather on the layered fronts to provide for a very

rider.

The NT features the same improvements as the CS model, but is built on an advanced
new technology (NT) tree design. This allows for shorter tree points, a wider seat area,
and closer contact panels. Like the Edelweiss CS, the NT comes in Ebony or Havana.
Genesis S Deluxe (Featured in Tobac)
The Genesis S Deluxe is built on the same frame as the Edelweiss CS, but features
extremely soft supple doubled leather that combines both smoothness and grip on its

The Siegfried CS is made of cowhide and comes with a very small block located on
the upper part of the sweat flap to accommodate the riders who place their legs far
forward and ride short in their leathers.

Genesis D (Featured in Black)
Our newest dressage model features an extra deep seat, unique detailing to the back
of the seat, and hinged knee rolls that lay flat against the horse’s side when the saddle
is girthed.
Genesis D Deluxe (Featured in Black)
The Deluxe model of tour new dressage saddle comes with all the same fine detailing
and features of the model above, but with soft, supple, doubled leather for comfort and
additional grip.
Maestoso (Featured in Black)
The Maestoso marks a new breakthrough in the world of dressage. Stübben has
combined four important features: looks, depth, comfort and close contact. This model
is not a traditional Stübben dressage saddle. It is built on an ultra-deep seat and has a
thin long knee roll. While the tree is still flexible and absorbs part of the rider’s weight,
it allows the rider to sit very deep and provides a more secure seat.

Maestoso Deluxe (Featured in Black)
This model is a variation of the regular Maestoso. It is built on the same tree and offers
an identical flap design. The difference lies in the leather and the block. The Maestoso
Deluxe comes with soft supple doubled leather, which is very smooth and offers
excellent grip. It also features a slightly bigger block for additional support.
Roxane Dressage (Featured in Black)
The Roxane is built on a regular deep seat, but has a narrower twist. It comes with
a pencil knee roll and layered padding on the fronts. It offers a unique flap design...
instead of coming straight down, the sweat flap is angled back, holding the rider’s legs
back without the need for a big block. The rider feels greater freedom of movement
and is not as restricted as with a big block.
This model is also available in a Deluxe version, with doubled, textured, ultra-soft
leather.
Tristan (Featured in Black)
Our first and most beloved dressage saddle is still available in an assortment of knee
rolls and colors. The one shown here is the regular pencil knee roll in black.

Siegfried VSS Deluxe (Featured in Ebony)
Take the foundation of one of our most popular saddles, add a generous dose of
comfort and elegance, and you have the Deluxe Siegfried. Detailed with two layers of
soft, supple leather in the flaps and jockey skirt, this feature will surprise you with how
much comfort it provides.
Siegfried VSS (Featured in Ebony)
The Siegfried VSS, Stübben’s best known model, remains the ultimate all purpose
saddle. The flap is wide and goes far forward, and allows the rider to adjust their
stirrups for a broad range of uses. This model is made of cowhide and comes with
a deep seat, which provides for added security. It also features soft padded fronts,
a pencil knee roll (long and thin), and rear calf rolls, which offer support for the rider
when in a jumping position.
Siegfried VSSG
(Featured in Havana)
Same as the Siegfried VSS, but comes with an extra forward and longer flap for the
longer legged rider.

Roxane VSS (Featured in Havana)
The Roxane VSS is made of cowhide, built on a deep seat tree, and is similar to the
Siegfried but with slight variations in the design. While going forward, the flap offers a
straight cut and is slightly shorter than its Siegfried counterpart. The padded fronts are
layered to better mold around the leg. The panel leather matches the saddle color. It
features pencil knee rolls as well as rear calf rolls.
Genesis VSD Deluxe
(Featured in Ebony) with the Biomex* Seat
An all purpose saddle with extra comfort built into every component . Doubled leather
in the flaps and jockey skirts, this saddle is the ultimate on the trail, and at home
working on the “flat”. With its unique finish on the cantle and D/L type block for security,
this saddle is one to remember - and enjoy.
Siegfried VSD
(Featured in Ebony)
The VSD, like the VSS, is an all purpose saddle but with a different emphasis. The VSD
flap is much straighter and does not extend far forward. It is designed for the rider who
mostly rides long in the stirrups. The VSD offers great applications for trail riding, flat
work, and dressage, while suiting the jumpers who prefer to ride with long stirrups.

Siegfried VSD Deluxe (Featured in Havana)
Same as the Siegfried VSD, but with a bigger knee roll for the rider who is looking for
additional support. The two-section padded knee flaps cushion the rider’s leg and mold
over the blocks.
Scout (Featured in Black)
With its very soft deep seat and 11 D rings, the Scout is designed for the long haul.
Special attention to details, like a specially designed panel and the stainless cantle
plate, make this saddle stand out in a crowd. It is the perfect combination of beautiful
looks and modern technology.

Siegfried MF Special (Featured in Havana)
The Siegfried MF Special is a deep seat saddle with large blocks front and rear. The
flaps are cut forward for riding shorter in the stirrup leathers, whitle the deep seat and
blocks provide for a secure, safe ride.

YOUTH SADDLES
Juventus S (Featured in Tobac)
The Juventus S is designed for the young eventer/jumper. The flap has been sized
accordingly and a big emphasis has been put on safety - the seat is very deep and
very slanted on the back in order to help the rider stay secure in the seat. The sweat
flaps come with both big front and rear blocks to provide all the necessary support for
the legs.
Available in a 17” seat. Also available in Black with Havana trim and Honey.
Juventus D (Featured in Black with Havana trim on the front)
The Juventus D is designed for the young dressage rider. It comes with a deep seat
and a large knee roll to provide a high level of support.
Available in a 17” seat.
Edelweiss Jr. (Featured in Mahogany)
The Edelweiss Jr. is a soft seat close-contact saddle for the younger rider. It is built on
a half deep seat and comes with a small, high placed block.
Available in 15” and 16” seats.

This version of our Edelweiss Jr. comes with suede in the fronts and in the seat. The
placement of the suede in these areas provide the young rider with a secure seat.

This model is built on the same frame as the regular Edelweiss Jr., but features
extremely soft, supple, doubled leather that combines both smoothness and grip.
Laurus S (Featured in Ebony)
The Laurus S combines the looks of a close contact saddle with the safety required
by the discipline of jumping. It offers a square cantle, matching panels, but it is built
on a deep seat and comes with faux-suede on the fronts and part of the jockey skirt.
This new material, while being easy to clean and maintain, will provide increased grip.
Additional support is provided as well by a small knee roll located high on the sweat
flap. Available in a 16” seat.

Laurus D (Featured in Black)
The Laurus D has been sized slightly smaller than the Juventus D. It comes with an
even shorter flap. The seat is deep and the faux suede located on the fronts and part
of the jockey skirt ensures a high level of grip. This model comes with a mid size block
to provide for additional support without being obtrusive.
Available in a 16” seat.

Gaited Show Saddle (Featured in Black)
With a wide flap, flat seat, and cut back pommel, this traditional show saddle is only
traditional in its looks, not in the way that it’s made. The model features the finest
vegetable tanned, full grain leather (the seat is available either in suede or smooth
leather) as well as wool flocked panels. It is uniquely balanced to maximize the horse’s
show gait, regardless of the breed of the gaited horse.
Gaited Show Saddle (Featured in Ebony)

Gaited Pleasure Saddle (Featured in Black and Ebony)
This saddle was designed to accommodate the needs of the gaited rider and to put
him/her in synch with the motion of the horse (Tennessee Walkers, Missouri Fox
Trotters, Paso Finos, etc.). While it features all the usual Stübben trademarks (spring
and absorbtion, full grain leather, wool flocked panels, etc.), its tree has been modified
to help the rider sit further back and its flaps have been widened to provide sufficient
space for the rider’s legs when at a diagonal.
The Gaited Pleasure Saddle can fill various functions, ranging from the ring to the trail.
Keeping in mind the needs of the leisure rider, Stübben has created a saddle with a
strong emphasis on comfort. Padded flaps, long and wide seat, combined with the flex
of the tree, ensure a pleasurable ride for hours at a time.
Among its options (color, tree widths), the Gaited Pleasure Saddle offers two choices
of seat depth (rider’s personal preference): either half-deep or deep. While the halfdeep seat will satisfy a need for space and freedom, the deep seat will be up to the
task when it comes to security.

ICELANDIC SADDLES
Our Icelandic saddles were designed in collaboration with the master trainer Mr. Benedikt G. Lindal, a leading authority on
Icelandic horses with more than 35 years of experience. These models are built on a modified spring tree whose deepest
part lies further back than on a traditional Stübben tree and extends over a longer surface. The tree, in combination
with special flaps and panels tailored to the Icelandic breed, provides a high level of comfort and is perfectly suited to
the different motions of the gaited horse. But, the Icelandic models can be used with non-gaited horses as well, and will
provide great comfort to the trail and long distance rider.

Icelandic Elegant
Flat seat version. The elegant is the traditional competition model. The shallow seat
provides for a greater range of movement. The sports saddle design allows for the
seat position to be changed without it affecting the horse’s movement or its natural
eagerness to go forward. The Elegant is available in a RS version with a quilted seat.
Icelandic All Round
Built on a half deep-seat and designed as a n all purpose saddle, this very versatile
model will suit equally the needs of the beginners or the seasoned competitor. The
emphasis of this model is put on providing support and a safe, secure seat. The All
Round can be made as well in a RS version (with a quilted seat)

Icelandic Comfort I
(Half-deep seat): This model is built on a quilted seat and a long panel, and is geared
towards trail riding or for the rider spending many hours in the saddle.
Icelandic Comfort II
(Flat seat): This model is identical to the Comfort I, but with a shallower seat, which
provides more freedom of movement.
Icelandic Focus
The Focus features completely doubled leather and is built on a flat seat NT tree.
This deluxe saddle has high knee rolls and an embossed seat logo, and is perfect for
competition or pleasure.
