Mickey Whittington Retires
After 35 Years of Service
‘I plan to spend more time with my family and friends’
I
f you live in the Jesup area, you probably know Mickey
Whittington. Mickey was the friendly face you saw in
Satilla REMC’s Jesup office and in the Wayne County community. He became part of Satilla’s family in 1978, shortly
after he served his country in the Vietnam conflict. Mickey
became the Jesup District Manager in 1982.
As a “people” person, Mickey enjoyed meeting and
assisting the Members of Satilla REMC throughout his 35year career. He remains involved in many civic clubs and
organizations and will continue to serve on numerous
boards and committees. Mickey desires the best for Wayne
County, Jesup and Satilla REMC Members. The Jesup area
folks are certainly part of his extended family.
Mickey plans to spend more time with his children,
Celeste and Amber, and his grandchildren. He also plans
to hunt, fish and perfect his golf game with his wife, Linda.
Mickey will be missed at Satilla and in the Jesup area.
We wish him well.

Energy Efficiency
Tip of the Month
Your heat pump can use 10 percent to 25 percent more energy if
it’s not properly maintained, which includes regularly checking and
replacing the air filter when it’s dirty to keep parts from working
too hard or even becoming damaged. Keep brush and plants tidy
around the outdoor unit, and dust the return registers inside. For
more details on heat pump maintenance, visit EnergySavers.gov.
