Whilst we strive for 100%
RM/TP lines we also
occasionally infuse other
breeds or lines. We refer
to these pups as 1-99%
RM/TP Australian
Labradoodles
We may add a 3+ breed
british/american/australian
labradoodle or alternatively a
Kennel Club pedigree line (e.g
labrador/poodle/spaniel) or
lastly a 2-breed dog (e.g a lab x
poodle F1/F1b/F3B or even a
spoodle)
Results are diverse and
depend on what has been
infused. If a poodle is used,
then the coat will be tighter so
this backcross is useful if
needing to correct coat. The
examples on this page are
poodle backcrosses.
Are the offspring still
australian labradoodles?
Yes, any labradoodle with 3+
breeds is an australian
labradoodle, If any infusion is
not done by Rutland Manor
and/or Tegan Park then we do
not call them 100% RM/TP we simply refer to them as
australian poodle backcrosses
to ensure you know what you
are buying.
How do I know if
poodle has been added?
Ask the breeder and check the
pedigree. On a grading system
poodle backcrossing is denoted
by a B or a P or for double
addition PP.
What
are
the
advantages/disadvantages
of a poodle backcross? The
tighter curls are a useful coat
corrector. However excessive
backcrossing can result in a
pup which is more than 75%
poodle which is not our
objective.

Colours?
Poodle
backcrosses are bred in
chocolate/cafe, black/silver,
cream and apricot/red.
Creams can have black or rose
pigmentation depending on
their colour genetics.
Sizes?
Poodle x ASD
doodles are usually medium
(labrador sized) which is about
20-22 inches to the shoulder
and 19-25kg in weight.
Medium/Standard Poodle x
ASD, is the lowest priced,
wool/fleece option available, if
cost is a consideration without
compromising on the low/no
shedding coat. We can plan
1-99% ASD pups in mini size.
Allergies/asthma? We
have high success rate with
poodle x ASD. Always test the
actual pup and read the
breeder’s legal disclaimer.
