Features
• PREMIUM PERFORMANCE OPTICS: High-grade aluminum, semi-specular finish produces up to 85%
reflectance. Internal hammertone finish at top of reflector to prevent lamp voltage rise on HPS and reduce
bright spots beneath luminaire. Eight distinct reflectors,
each providing different light distributions ranging from
Narrow to Very Wide. Primary path reflector shape elements eliminate secondary reflections for higher efficiency.
• DUST-TIGHT CHAMBER: Sealed optical chamber provides dust-tight enclosure to ensure maintained light levels. Cast aluminum lens frame accommodates Glass,
Teflon, or Glass/Teflon lens assembly; fully gasketed and
secured to the reflector using stainless steel screws and
hinge. Teflon lenses resist dirt and dust build up transmitting 5% more light. Gasketing is high temperature silicone.
• BUILT IN MODULARITY: Wide-Lite’s modular optics hang
‘hands-free’ on a hinge for quick connect installation,
and easy, safe disconnect for servicing and re-lamping.
Modular Optics can be interchanged with ease should
the activity in an area require different optical performance.
• RUGGED HOUSING DESIGN: Durable die-cast aluminum
housing components provide maximum strength and
heat dissipation. All service hardware stainless steel.
• SOCKET: Glazed porcelain, 4KV and 5KV pulse rated with
a vibration proof nickel-plated screw shell and springloaded centre contact. Socket positions factory preset.
• BALLAST: Swing open hinge system with the ballast lid
and optical assembly. Quick disconnect plug provided for
connection to input supply wires. Pre-wired high power
factor ballast designed for up to 55° ambient temperatures, -29°C starting temperatures for Metal Halide and
-40°C for HPS. Encapsulated in polyester resin compound
with capacitors and ignitors located outside encapsulation. Completely sealed ballast assembly reduces dirt.
Lamp current crest factor less than 1.65.
• FINISH: Standard Finish is white Duraplex IITM
Electrostatic Powder Finish; optional colours available.
• CONTROLS: Compatible with Wide-Lite HiLo controls,

Features
• BUILT IN MODULARITY: Wide-Lite’s modular optics
hang ‘hands-free’ on a hinge for quick connect
installation, and easy, safe disconnect for servicing
and re-lamping. Modular Optics can be interchanged with ease should the activity in an area
require different optical performance.
• RUGGED CONSTRUCTION: Die-cast aluminum
electrical enclosure and optional guard, sealed to
the heat and shock resistant, glass optical chamber
with neoprene gasketing; secured with stainless
steel hardware.
• OPTICS: Glass globe provides low glare, even symmetric illumination with generous spacing to mounting height ratios and approximately 40% uplight.
• ENCAPSULATED BALLAST: Swing open hinge system with the ballast lid and optical assembly,
designed for easy installation and replacement.
Quick disconnect plug provided for connection to
input supply wires. Pre-wired high power factor
ballast designed for up to 55°C ambient temperatures, -29°C starting temperatures for Metal Halide
and -40°C for HPS. Encapsulated in polyester resin
compound with capacitors and ignitors located outside encapsulation for ease of maintenance.
Completely sealed ballast assembly reduces dirt.
Lamp current crest factor less than 1.65.
• LAMPHOLDER: Porcelain, 4KV pulse rated, griptype medium based socket prevents lamp loosening; 4 pin, PLT base on Compact Fluorescent.
• FINISH: Standard Finish is white Duraplex IITM
Electrostatic Powder Finish; optional colours available.

Features
• MOTORIZED SHIELD: Designed for indoor sports
lighting for applications requiring flexibility of on/off
control without the use of instant restrike starters.
Top shield closes over face of floodlight blocking
100% of forward light when signaled. When the
shield is closed, the lamp is idled at low light intensity using Wide-Lite’s HiLo control system to ensure
low operating temperature of the lamp & fixture.
Allows special theatrical effects due to its instant
dark to light capabilities.
• DUST-TIGHT OPTICAL ASSEMBLY: Sealed optical
chamber; heat and impact resistant tempered glass
lens; aluminum lens frame and extruded gasket,
secured to the main housing using stainless steel
screws.
• HOUSING: Die-cast aluminum with integral cast
heat dissipating fins. All service hardware & fastners stainless steel.
• INSTALLATION & WIRING: Lamp socket is prewired
with a 10 ft. 16/3 SO cord and modular 3-wire plug.
Shutter control motor is prewired with a 10 ft. 16/5
SO cord and modular 5-wire plug. Ballast secondary is prewired with modular receptacles to accept
plugs from fixture socket and shutter control wiring.
Primary side of ballast is factory prewired with 6
ft.16/5 SO cord and L2320P 5-wire plug.

(not shown) is remote mounted from the fixturehead and is enclosed in an extruded aluminum
housing to prevent noise from magnetism, between
ballast core and outer housing. Ballast is CWA-type
capable of operating 1000W metal halide lamp.
Ballast starting current is less than operating with
reliable starting to -30° C. Ballast is encapsulated in
a non-melt resin to further ensure quiet and cool
operation. Ballast coil windings are copper with
Class H (180°C).
• MOUNTING: Cast aluminum mastfitter (MF-1) for
fixture shall provide slip fitter for 2 3/8" (68mm) O.D.
vertical pipe tenon. Remote ballast to be adaptable
for wall, platform or rack mounting.

Features
• BALLAST: High power factor, CWA type with 180°C
insulation rating, equipped with integral two level
switching control. Copper ballast coil windings
providing an operating Current Crest Factor that
does not exceed 1.65 during operation. High Power
Factor Ballast (90% or above) operates at full output
and Corrected/High Power Factor (60% or above) at
reduced output. Designed for -30°C starting temperature for Metal Halide and -40°C for HPS.
• BALLAST OPTIONS:
Integral construction to specified fixture, selection
from Keene Industrial products, Keene Outdoor
products and most Wide-Lite products.
Remote from specified fixture, for non-recessed
mounting location, encapsulated for improved noise
reduction and thermal characteristics. For mounting distance between lamp and ballast, follow ballast manufacturer’s recommendations.
Ballast voltage availability : 120V, 277V or 347V.
• SWITCHING: Switching of power levels is accomplished by means of a solid-state electronic control
device, in conjunction with additional capacitor(s).
Electronic control device incorporates integral
zero-cross detection for switching of capacitors, to
ensure both electrical stability and lamp stability
during switching. The use of zero-cross detection
switching promotes full lamp life through control of
dV/dT during switching function. The electronic
control device employs the use of a solid-state
relay to accomplish switching, avoiding instability
and contact arcing related to mechanical relays.
The electronic control device employs an integral
start-at-high period of ~15 minutes when the ballast
is first energized, allowing lamp arc-tube to warm
up and stabilize before dimming. Control input of
the Dimming Module requires additional wiring than
standard lighting circuit. The control wiring may
run in the same conduit as the lighting supply
wiring, according to CEC C22.2 Sec. 12-904 2c. The
default light level is Low when at 0V input to the
module. High level is activated instantaneously
when the control-input voltage is turned ON.
Control-input voltage can be selected between
120-277VAC, or 347VAC (see next page for ordering
details).
• SWITCHING TYPE: Switching devices provide manual or automatic control of lighting system. Each
manual switch (HLMS1) represents control of one
zone, for on/off and High/Low, via switching the
control voltage on and off. Occupancy detectors
can be used for complete automatic control. A
Master Ballast may be incorporated to supply the
detectors and control circuit with 120VAC. Wiring
schematics available upon request.

OCCUPANCY DETECTORS
Passive Infrared Occupancy Detector for indoor, high mount,
narrow view application. For use with Hi-Lo and Hi-Med
switching ballasts. Provided in an aluminum single gang
box, with adjustable mounting knuckle (1/2” NPT thread), for
easy aiming. Features simple three wire installation, user
adjustable time delay, integral Start-at-High, and control
selection switch.

HI-LO INTEGRAL CONTROL
WIDE-LITE
• Infrared motion sensor step dims (to 50%) individual fixtures based on aisle occupancy under
the sensor. Micro-processor-based design
starts lamp on high brightness step for 15 minutes, even after the loss of one AC line cycle,
to assure rated lamp life.
• The Wide-Lite HiLo Integral Control option is
available with the Performer, Coolbay, Ultrabay,
Vertic’Aisle, Softbay, and Glass Hibay with 1751000W Metal Halide and Pulse Start MH, and
150-1000W High Pressure Sodium.
• HiLo step dimming via relay switching of dual
capacitors located in ballast housing.
CONTROLS
• Standard area pattern lens features 360° field
of view for use in open areas. Two decals are
included to limit view for narrow warehouse
aisle applications.
OPTIONAL COUNTERWEIGHT
• The PIR (Passive Infra-Red) sensor and dimming relay are housed in a single unitized
injection-moulded enclosure.
• Fixtures may be pre-wired with wire harness
and connector for fast, 30-second installation
requiring only a screwdriver. Adjustable universal swivelling mounting bracket attaches to
the rim of the reflector. Sensor has self-adjusting multi-volt operation for fixtures rated 120480VAC at 60Hz without taps or jumpers.
• Unit is equipped with LED lamp behind lens,
which blinks three diagnostic patterns to facilitate installation and debugging. Additionally, a
manual override test switch on the sensor permits confirmation of proper operation of the fixture.
• Activity timer, standard on all units, allows user
to adjust the observed motion ON time setting
from 0-15 minutes. Useable PIR sensitivity
range is up to 60 feet on axis (at 25°C) floor
ambient.
• Unit is suitable for indoor damp locations and
0°-50°C ambient (non-condensing).

• CONSTRUCTION: Formed aluminum housing with cast
aluminum end plates securely mounted by fasteners.
Wiring compartment is accessed by an aluminum
cover, providing full access to any components during
installation or service (RI Series).
• BALLAST: Pre-wired high power factor ballast
designed for up to 55° ambient temperatures, -29°C
starting temperatures for Metal Halide and -40°C for
HPS. Encapsulated in polyester resin compound with
capacitors and ignitors located outside encapsulation
for ease of maintenance. High Intensity Discharge
ballast with class H insulation system, copper windings, and high power factor. CWA (constant wattage
autotransformer) ballast circuit type for 120, 277, and
347 volt, and CWI (constant wattage isolated) for 208,
240, 480, and 600 volt systems.
• ELECTRICAL: Electrical connections made on bottom
end, through 3/4” conduit. Internal capacitor and ignitor
pre-wired and mounted with sufficient space from
ballast core to ensure cool operation and long component life. All ballast circuits are 100% tested during
assembly.
• INSTALLATION: RI Series - Depending on building
construction, installation can be vertical or horizontal.
For vertical orientation, ballast must keep electrical
components cool by securing aluminum end plates to
desired surface (hardware is provided). RO Series Formed metal bracket suitable for mounting to pole or
wall. 1" threaded pipe on bottom provides electrical
wire connections.
