In 2016, Shu Uemura Art of Hair welcomes the MUSE IMAGE AWARDS.
The MUSE IMAGE AWARDS is a national styling competition which celebrates the
remarkable craftsmanship and creativity of the hairstylist. The competition provides a
platform for hairstylists of all experience levels, to push their artistic limits and create their
own work of art.
Five lucky finalists will be selected to attend a national photoshoot, where they will be
mentored by a renowned industry expert to recreate their winning muse look.
The National winner will be selected from a panel of industry experts and will have the
chance to win a
10 page photo spread in INSTYLE
The competition provides hair stylists with a unique opportunity to raise their professional
profile and showcase their artistic creativity nationally and internationally!

THE THEME
Create your own Shu Uemura Art of Hair muse by
interpreting this years official theme;
Be inspired by the bustling streets and bright lights of this
intoxicating city
HOW TO ENTER
1. Compile a mood board to show the concept behind the
inspiration for your hairstyle look (using the theme above)
2.Include a paragraph on the entry form explaining the mood
board and detailing the inspiration behind your look. You
may include a title.
3.Submit 2x photos of your model:
*one head shot before (unstyled)
*one head shot (styled)
Images to be A4 in size.
Please ensure your images are of good quality.
(eg. format 2mb jpeg files or HD 300dpi)
There is no need to use a professional model or photographer for your entry
4.Fill out the entry form at the back of this brochure and
send your mood board or a photo of your mood board,
paragraph and photographs to the address provided on
the entry form. Photo or original moodboard submitted
must be no bigger than A3 in size and one sided.

THE FINALIST
PHOTO SHOOT

Photoshoot, where everything will be provided to assist you
in recreating your winning muse look.

THE WINNER
The the lucky stylist will receive a
10 page photoshoot spread in INSTYLE magazine
a unique opportunity to raise your profile and artistic skills
both nationally and internationally.
THE FINALISTS
The 5 finalists will receive a personalised canvas of their
muse look from The Finalist Photoshoot event as well as
6 months supply of Shu Uemura Art of Hair product to the
value of $1300.

Entries must be received no later than 19th June 2016.
THE MAIN RULES
• Only one entry per person
• There are no limits on the number of entrants per salon.
• Candidates must be from a Shu Uemura Art of Hair salon
exclusively
• Photo submission must be A4 in size and of high resolution
(e.g. 300dpi)
• Photo submissions should be recent and will not be returned
• Only Shu Uemura Art of Hair products may be used to style
hair
• No late entries permitted
• All entries will be judged based on creativity, technical
expertise, fit with the Shu Uemura Art brand and fit with the
entry brief
• The judges’ decision is final. Neither Shu Uemura Art Of Hair
nor the judges will discuss results
• The photoshoot is awarded to the winning individual, not the
salon

Entry only open to Aust. residents 18+ who are a hairdresser or stylist employed at a hair salon which stocks
Shu Uemura Art of Hair products. Entrants must be available to attend the Finalist Photoshoot Event on 11th
