For our Tenth Anniversary year, G&P paid tribute to four phenomenal humanitarians for their
continuous support and dedication to The G&P Foundation mission: Debra L. Lee, Glenda
Bailey, the Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Dr. Stephen D. Nimer, Chair of
the G&P Medical Advisory Board. Our Live Auction brought in over $400,000 thanks to the
auctioneering skills of Brook Hazelton, Managing Partner of Phillips de Pury. The evening
ended with a spectacular $1.5 million surprise donation to G&P from the Royal Family of Abu Dhabi.

This year’s Angel Ball featured a special menu created by Sirio Maccioni of Le Cirque and a
star-studded roster of celebrity presenters & performers including Randy Jackson, Petra Nemcova,
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Star Jones, Liz Smith, Joan Collins, LL Cool
J, and Ivana Trump. The stars were out in full force to support G&P and those in attendance
included: Sean “Diddy” Combs, Roberta Flack, Neil Sedaka, Harvey Weinstein, Gayle King,
Bar Rafaeli, Jason Lewis and Chace Crawford to name a few. With an unbelievable line-up of
performers to lead the celebration, Joss Stone kicked off the night and John Legend and his band
brought down the house later in the bill. Kathy “Sister” Sledge joyfully sang her signature hit
and was joined by hot new girl group, Epiphany to gear up the crowd. The evening concluded
with show-stopping performances by none other than music industry legends Chaka Khan
and Patti LaBelle. We are very grateful to all of these G&P “angels” for so generously donating
their time and talents to our cause. As guests left the New York Marriott Marquis that night,
they could see the G&P colors—red and purple—lighting up the sky on that great New York
landmark, The Empire State Building.

As Dr. Nimer so eloquently stated in his acceptance speech —“To make progress in the struggle
to cure cancer requires vision. It requires dedication. And it requires courage. The life of a
scientist is filled with many frustrations & frequent rejections but hopefully some real glory, the
glory of discovery.” In ten years, The G&P Foundation has awarded nearly $7 million in medical
research grants to the nation’s top doctors, many of them now leaders in the field of cancer

Our partnership with fashion designer, Nicole Miller, continues in 2008! Coming on the heels of
the success of her G&P “Angel Dress” last fall [see related story in this issue], Nicole and her
team will create another amazing design for her collection inspired by The G&P Foundation. We
are so thankful to Nicole for her love and support.
Famed New York-based artist Hunt Slonem has agreed to donate his time and talents to paint an
Audi A5, generously donated by Audi of America, which will debut at the New York International
Auto Show in March. This one-of-a-kind piece of automotive artwork will tour the nation
raising awareness for The G&P Foundation and then be auctioned off in conjunction with our
2008 event.

G&P Celebrates Tenth Anniversary on the French Riviera
G&P Co-Founder, Denise Rich kicked-off the Tenth Anniversary celebration of the Foundation with panache on May 20, 2007 at the
Cannes Film Festival. The cocktail reception, presented by Audi, was graciously held on G&P supporter John Rosatti’s yacht, the
M/Y Nice N’Easy, in Cannes Harbour. Guests included Don Johnson, Fawaz Gruosi, Ivana Trump, and Nadia Swarovski among others,
who danced to the sounds of DJ Donna D’Cruz and admired the new Audi RS 4 Cabriolet, the evening’s display centerpiece. The
Foundation extends its heartfelt thanks to John Rosatti, Dawn Kimball and our friends at Audi for their support of the G&P mission.

Our friends in Houston, Texas made The G&P Foundation feel right at home at a cocktail reception held on April 19, 2007. G&P
supporters Melissa and Michael Mithoff hosted the evening with Laura and Greg Casey who very graciously opened their home to
G&P. This cultivation event was the first in ten years ever held for the Foundation outside of New York.
The weather cooperated on a beautiful spring evening enabling the Caseys to throw open the French doors leading to their backyard
as classical guitarists from Moodafaruka entertained the hip, Houston crowd. The natural beauty of the Casey home was enhanced
by Bergner Johnson who provided orchids, anemones and dogwood in full bloom. A Fare Extraordinaire served beef carpaccio, duck
quesadillas, tuna tartare and tempura asparagus while Houstonians mingled and wine flowed.
G&P Co-Founder, Denise Rich, captivated the audience with Gabrielle’s story and the origins of The G&P Foundation. G&P Board
Member Michèle Rella also spoke and introduced 2001 G&P Medical Research grantee, Dr. Jeffrey Molldrem from Houston’s own
M. D. Anderson Cancer Center.
The G&P Foundation was incredibly moved by the warm reception given by the Houstonians. We would also like to extend a
special thank you to Christopher Phillips for his help in bringing these two worlds together. The G&P Foundation looks forward to
a long-lasting friendship with our new supporters in Houston!

On Saturday, October 27, 2007
two very special young girls
decided to make a difference
in the lives of those affected
by cancer. At the 17th Annual
Make-a-Difference-Day in
Larksville, PA, the Bonczewski
sisters, Abby and Jillian,
raised awareness of leukemia
and lymphoma by giving
silicone bracelets bearing the
word “Relentless” to those
making a contribution to cancer
research. With hard work and
determination, the girls were
able to raise $147.00 and
donated all proceeds from this
fundraising drive to The G&P
Foundation! Their mother,
Karen, said that their family
had dealt with a devastating
diagnosis of AML so they
were compelled to help in any
way possible. Our great
thanks to Karen, Abby and
Jillian for their hard work,
dedication and philanthropy!

The G&P Foundation just gained another supporter! We are thrilled for Board
Member, Erin Zammett Ruddy and her husband, Nick at the birth of their
firstborn child, Alexander James Ruddy. This little angel arrived at 11:04 AM on
September 2, 2007. As we reported in our last newsletter, Erin (a CML survivor)
went off of her Gleevec in order to become pregnant and miraculously,
her cancer remained undetectable for the entire nine months. Congratulations,
Erin and Nick and welcome to the world, Alexander!
