Het Internationaal Kortfilmfestival Leuven groeit en de bekendheid
en populariteit van de kortfilm kent al een aantal jaren een gestage
maar onstuitbare opmars.
The International Short Film Festival Leuven is flourishing. The
success and fame are increasing steadily thanks to the growing
interest in short film.
En daar zijn goede redenen voor. Kortfilm is film herleid tot de essentie: een gebalde, korte en krachtige weergave van een idee, een
situatie of een gevoel. Met een beperkte productietijd en een beperkt
budget komen kortfilmmakers meteen tot de kern van de zaak. De
kortfilm is ontdaan van alle commerciële belangen, wordt niet gehinderd door sterren met capsones, rode lopers of zakelijke inmenging. Er telt maar één ding: de intrinsieke kwaliteiten van de film.
There are good reasons for this success. Short Film is film reduced
to its essence: a succinct, short and to the point expression of an
idea, a situation or an emotion.Often restricted by a limited time and
a small budget, short film makers immediately come to the heart
of the subject. Moreover, short films are neither led by commercial
interests, nor bothered by toffee-nosed superstars, red carpets or
professional interference. There’s only one thing that counts: the
intrinsic quality of film.
Een kortfilmfestival is dan ook het ultieme festival voor iedere
filmliefhebber: een kleurrijke explosie van creativiteit, van ideeën
en manieren waarop filmmakers die ideeën vormgeven. Van minispeelfilms, humoristische gags of korte crimi’s over woordeloze
impressies, intimistische slices-of-life tot avontuurlijke videowerken, clips en visuals: op 8 dagen tijd, gespreid over 30 compilaties en
meer dan 270 films geeft het IKL een beeld van de state of the art in
haar honderd-en-één verschijningsvormen. Het IKL is een stoomcursus hedendaagse film & video.
As a result, a short film festival is pre-eminently a festival for every
film aficionado. It is a colourful explosion of creativity, of ideas and
ways in which film makers express them. The ISFFL gives a state
of the art of film in its manifold manifestations. Mini feature films,
humorous gags, short crimi’s, silent impressions, intimistic slices of
life and adventurous video works, clips and visuals are presented in
30 compilations with over 270 films. In doing so, the ISFFL can be
considered as a crash course in contemporary film & video.
Is de kortfilm een genre op zich of een visitekaartje van solliciterende cineasten? In de meeste gevallen: beide. De kortfilm is een
genre op zich omdat de korte duurtijd andere mogelijkheden biedt
en een andere manier van vertellen vereist. En sommige cineasten
verkiezen dit formaat boven andere. Maar voor vele jonge cineasten is een kortfilm tevens een visitekaartje, een demo waarmee ze
uitpakken op een filmtalentenjacht zoals het Internationaal Kortfilmfestival Leuven.
Is the short film a genre in itself or a visiting card of film makers
looking for a job? In most of cases it is both. The short film is a
genre in itself, because the limited time offers new possibilities and
requests a whole different narrative style. Some film makers even
prefer this genre above another. But many young film makers use
the short film as a visiting card, a demo of their own cinematographic style and identity, for film talent scoutings like the International
Short Film Festival Leuven.

THE SUNFLYERS
Hugo Schoeters is in een soort midlife-crisis beland. Zijn vrouw Chantal
kan zijn gedrag niet meer verdragen en stuurt hem doorheen zijn amoureuze
verleden. Samen met zijn neef Ben, die alles filmt, bezoekt Hugo zijn exvriendinnen. Maar niet alles loopt van een leien dakje...
Hugo is in a midlife-crisis. His wife Chantal is fed up with his behaviour and
comes up with a plan. She sends Hugo on a quest throughout his romantic
past. Together with his nephew Ben, who films the whole enterprise, Hugo
visits his ex-girlfriends. But not everything goes as smoothly as planned…
Het is zomer en de verschillende modelbouwvliegtuigclubs in de buurt maken
zich klaar om deel te nemen aan de jaarlijkse airshow. Voor de club ‘The
Sunflyers’ betekent dit echter de laatste deelname. Ze willen er echt iets van
maken en vragen de 83-jarige oud-Belgisch kampioen Hubert mee.
It’s a hot summer day and the various aeromodelling clubs in the area prepare
themselves for their annual championship. This year’s championship marks
the final game for the modelling club ‘The Sunflyers’. In an effort to celebrate
their final appearance, the men invite the 83-year old honorary member
Hubert to the show.

An intimate portrait of a young introvert woman, called Iris. Iris sits and
waits; her relationship with Tom seems to fade out. When an unknown
woman enters into her appartment, Iris starts to smile in a different way...
Twee mannen dragen een boomstam naar een onbekende bestemming. Het
werk is zwaar, maar ze hebben haast. De rivaliteit tussen de mannen neemt
gaandeweg toe. Wanneer een meisje zich bij hen aansluit, komt het tot een
gewelddadige uitbarsting tussen de beide mannen. Deze parabel, die zich
situeert in een fictief universum, werpt vragen op over menselijke conflicten.
Two men carry a palm tree through an endless desert to an unknown destination. Little by little the two men become rivals. When they have to decide
whether or not to let a young woman accompany them, with the added risk
of jeopardizing their own quest, they come into conflict. Los Hervideros, an
audiovisual parable situated in an existentialist universe of deserted landscapes, raises questions about the origin of human conflicts.

ze naar levensmoed... leven - dood, meisje - vrouw, kind - ouder, liefde liefdeloosheid. Haar leven verloopt in zwart-wit. Vindt ze de kracht om haar
eigen kleuren zichtbaar te maken?
A story about Alice, a 13-year old girl that doesn’t live in Wonderland. She
doesn’t eat anymore, and the emptiness inside is growing. Still she tries to
regain her life. Life - death, girl - woman, child - parent, love - lovelessness.
Her life is in black and white. Will she be able to bring her own colours back
in sight?

Bartje zelf wordt verbannen naar een donkere en vochtige zolderkamer.
Terwijl de rook van Opa’s sigaren langzaam maar zeker het huis vult, zint
Bartje op wraak...
Grandad is old. Grandad is terminal and unpleasant. Grandad smokes
cigars that stink. Grandad himself doesn’t smell all that great either. And
now Grandad’s moved in and he’s taken Bart’s lovely room. Without so
much as a ‘thank you’, ten-year-old Bart is exiled to a dark and amp attic.
As the smoke of the cigars slowly fills the house, Bart plots his revenge on
his unwanted and foul ancester...

FOREVER
Naar aanleiding van zijn vaders dood komt Werner na lange tijd weer naar
huis. Zijn vader, befaamd schrijver Herman Paulus, blijft zelfs na zijn dood
de ster van de familie. Maar Werner kan ook dingen, dat weet niemand, maar
hij kan ook dingen ...
Werner comes home after a time of absence to attend his father’s funeral.
His father, famous author Herman Paulus, remains even after his death the
star of the family. But Werner can do things too, no one knows, but he can do
things too...
Om aan zijn kritische vriendin te bewijzen dat hij wel degelijk ‘rock ‘n’ roll’
is, laat gladde reclameboy Anton een tatoeage zetten bij de mysterieuze Dr.
Lee. Wanneer Anton zonder te betalen wegloopt uit de tattoo shop, spreekt
Lee een oude Chinese vloek uit over de tatoeage, en begint Antons knusse
leventje langzaam uit elkaar te vallen...
To proof his critical girlfriend that he is ‘rock ‘n roll’, the slick marketing
guy Anton decides to get a tattoo and goes to the mysterious Dr. Lee. When
Anton leaves without paying, Lee lays an old Chinese curse upon the tattoo.
Shortly after, Anton’s cosy life starts falling apart....

Een zwaar toegetakelde Edward Monskii en een vermoeide Botter Gaarman
zitten op een Corsicaans terras, wachtend op hun lang geplande missie. Wanneer een oudere man, Ernest Carpentier, bij hen komt zitten, ontstaat er een
gespannen en mogelijk gevaarlijke situatie...

Door dagelijkse activiteiten rond een tankstation te observeren en te luisteren
naar de gesprekken die er gevoerd worden tussen eigenaars, personeel en
automobilisten, kan je heel wat leren over een land. Het tankstation wordt zo
een microkosmos. De documentaire-aflevering “Gasstation-Arizona” gaat
over migratie. Tienduizenden mensen, op de vlucht voor politiek geweld of
religieuze vervolging, trachten dagelijks de grens over te steken, hopend op
een beter leven.
By observing everyday activities in and around a filling station and eavesdropping on conversations between owners, personnel and motorists, we
discover a great deal about the country itself. The gas station becomes a
microcosm. The documentary episode “Gasstation-Arizona” deals with the
theme of migration. Whether fleeing political violence or religious persecution, tens of thousands of persons try each day to cross borders in the hope
of a better life.

Een miserabele nacht uit het leven van de superhelden Blake’s 7. Ze zijn
uitgeput, hun benzine is bijna op en Vila moet dringend naar het toilet. Dan
komen ze hun aartsvijand Servalan tegen.
A miserable night in the life of the superheroes Blake’s 7. They’re tired, low on
petrol, and Vila’s bursting for a pee. Then their archenemy Servalan turns up.
Johan is bezig zijn relatie met Julie te verwoesten. Hij is zichzelf niet meer, hij
gedraagt zich koud en egocentrisch tegenover haar. Het is een kwestie van tijd
voordat de liefde tussen de twee voorgoed verdwenen is. Na een nachtje stappen
ontmoet Johan een vreemde man, die hem confronteert met zijn cynische en
destructieve gedrag.
Johan is busy destroying his relationship with his girlfriend Julie. He is no longer

The war. The number of wounded and dying people is continuously increasing in village hospitals. Suddenly, a severely wounded general is brought in.

Colette, to the seaside. While driving, he gets a call from his girlfriend, Alice,

In Flatlife wordt het ophangen van een schilderij een vrij risicovolle onderneming, kaartenhuisjes blijken onderworpen aan de wet van Murphy, de was doen
vereist speciale vaardigheden in het domein van de ethologie, en naar televisie
kijken blijkt levensgevaarlijk te zijn. Soms is een verre vriend meer waard dan
een goede buur.
In Flatlife, hanging a painting on the wall becomes a quite hazardous
operation, houses of cards seem subject to Murphy’s Law, doing the laundry
requires special skills in the field of ethology, and watching TV turns out to be
a life-threatening activity. Sometimes a far friend is worth more than a good
neighbour.

Drie mannen zitten aan tafel. Ze beginnen aan een nieuwe manier van
onderhandelen.
Three men are sitting round a table. They are entering into negotiations of a
new type.
Met behulp van schakelaars, knopjes en hendels van alledaagse voorwerpen
zoals microgolfovens, stereo’s, auto’s, deuren en toiletten choreografeert
Gorka een mechanische dans van dagelijkse routines. De samengevoegde vormen, kleuren en texturen onthullen de rijkdom en variatie van de voorwerpen
die het anders zo onopvallende decor uitmaken van ons dagelijks bestaan.
Through the use of switches, buttons, and handles from ordinary objects
like microwaves, stereos, cars, doors, and toilets, Gorka has succeeded in
choreographing a mechanical dance of daily routines. The different forms,
textures, and colors are superimposed to reveal the richness and variety of
these objects that almost unconsciously make up our daily lives.

COMPETITIE 2005
COMPETITION 2005
De Vlaamse en Europese Kortfilmcompetitie nemen een centrale
plaats in in het Kortfilmfestival. De Vlaamse competitie wordt
verdeeld in 4 segmenten (animatiefilms, fictiefilms, documentaires
en videoclips), de Europese competitie -die sterk uitgebreid werd dit
jaar- is enkel toegankelijk voor korte fictiefilms.
To the ISFFL, the Flemish and European Short Film Competitions
are the most important. The Flemish competition is divided into 4
segments (animation films, live action films, documentaries and music
videos), whereas the European competition - that has been extending
significantly - is only accessible for short live action films.
Er worden zowel jury- als publieksprijzen uitgereikt. De totale
waarde aan prijzen (er worden natura prijzen én cash prijzen uitgereikt) bedraagt dit jaar 30.000 euro.
The prizes granted are jury awards as well as audience awards. This
year the total amount of prize money (there are prizes in kind ánd
cash prizes) comes to 30.000 euro.

Daarnaast is er een aparte, door SCAM samengestelde jury die de Vlaamse
korte documentaires beoordeeld. Dit jaar zetelen in deze SCAM jury
Françoise Wolf, Jean-Jacques Jespers en Fabio Wuytack
There is also a separate SCAM jury for the Flemish Documentary
Competition. The members of the SCAM-Jury are Françoise Wolf,
Jean-Jacques Jespers and Fabio Wuytack.

JURY
The ISFFL-jury consists of 5 persons. The festival has invited a varied group
of people, coming from different sections of the film world (directors, actors,
producers, promotors, journalists...) with knowledge of short films and short
film festivals. The ISFFL-jury consists this year again of 3 international and 2
Belgian delegates. The ISFFL- jury will evaluate the short live action films of
the Flemish Short Film Competition (18 titles) and the European Competition
(35 titles). In the Flemish Competition, the jury will award 2 prizes: the Prize
of the Jury and the Prize for the Best Debut. In the European Competition, the
jury will award the SACD Prize of the Jury.
De IKL-jury bestaat uit 5 mensen. Het festival nodigt steevast een bont gezelschap uit; mensen uit verschillende geledingen van de filmwereld (regisseurs,
acteurs, producenten, organisatoren, persmensen, ...), mensen die over kennis
van zaken beschikken en vertrouwd zijn met de kortfilm en de kortfilmfestivals. De IKL-jury bestaat dit jaar uit 3 buitenlandse afgevaardigden en 2
mensen uit eigen land. De IKL jury beoordeelt de korte fictiefilms in de
Vlaamse Kortfilmcompetitie (18 titels) en de Europese Competitie (35 titels).
In de Vlaamse Competitie mag de jury 2 prijzen uitreiken: de Prijs van de Jury
en de Prijs voor het Beste Debuut. In de Europese Competitie mag de jury de
SACD Juryprijs uitreiken.
THOM PALMEN (Sweden)
Naast voormalig hoofd van de Europese Coördinatie van Filmfestivals is Thom Palmen oprichter
en artistiek directeur van het Zweedse Umea
Filmfestival. Om jong talent de mogelijkheid
te geven films te maken richtte hij zijn eigen
distributiebedrijfje op: Botnia Film. Aangezien
Thom Palmen oorspronkelijk van Nederland is
en pas in de jaren ‘80 definitief verhuisde naar
Zweden, spreekt hij nog steeds vlot Nederlands.
Former head of the European Coordination of
Film Festivals, Thom Palmen is the founder and
artistic leader of the Swedish Umea Film Festival. In order to give young talent the opportunity
to make films, he founded his own distribution
company: Botnia Film. Born and raised in Holland, Thom Palmen moved to Sweden in the ‘80,
but he still speaks fluently Dutch.
CHRISTOPHE DIRICKX (Belgium)
Als scenarist van de films als Alles moet Weg, Manneken Pis of Villa des Roses is Christophe Dirickx
één van de belangrijkste en meeste gevraagde
Vlaamse filmscenaristen. In 2003 publiceerde hij
voor de bundel Mooie Jonge Honden zijn eerste
kortverhaal. Christophe is lid van de European Film
Academy. Momenteel werkt hij aan een zesdelige
reeks voor de Vlaamse televisie.
Being the writer of films like Alles moet Weg,
Manneken Pis and Villa des Roses, Christophe
Dirickx is one of the most important and most
wanted Flemish film scriptwriter. In 2003, he
had his first short story published in the volume
Mooie Jonge Honden. Christophe is a member of
the European Film Academy. Presently he is writing a six part drama series for Flemish tv.
SIEN EGGERS (Belgium)
STEPHAN WINKLER
Voor het grote publiek is de actrice Sien Eggers
na haar legendarische en hilarische vertolkingen
in In de Gloria en Het Eiland geen onbekende
meer. Sien Eggers was ook te zien in films als Iedereen Beroemd! en recent nog De Indringer. Als
theateractrice speelde ze mee in vaak bekroonde
producties van het Toneelhuis, het Raamtheater,
Victoria, … Momenteel werkt Sien mee aan de
prestigieuze miniserie De Kavijaks onder regie
van Stijn Coninx
Actress Sien Eggers is widely known in Belgium
thanks to her legendary and hilarious performances in In de Gloria and Het Eiland. Sien
Eggers also appeared in films like Iedereen
Beroemd! and, more recently, De Indringer.
As a theater actress, she performed in frequently awarded productions of Het Toneelhuis,
Raamtheater, Victoria, a.s.o. On this moment,
Sien is working on the prestigious mini series De
Kavijaks, directed by Stijn Coninx.

Stephan Winkler is van alle markten thuis, toch
wat film betreft. In 1994 maakte hij de kortfilm
Sichtblende. Later volgde nog de documentaire
A Natural Thing (goed voor de Special Prize of
the State Commission for Political Education) en
de langspeelfilm Guf Ha- Neschamot – The Hall
of Souls. Winkler is oprichter en drijvende kracht
achter W-Film, de Duitse producent en distributeur van kortilms en documentaires.
Stephan Winkler is an all-rounder in film making.
In 1994 he produced the short film Sichtblende,
followed by the documentary A Natural Thing.
This documentary was awarded the Special Prize
of the State Commission for Political Education. He also produced the full-length film Guf
Ha- Neschamot – The Hall of Souls. Stephan is
the founder of W-Film, the German short film
and documentary production- and distribution
company.
BALTASAR KORMÁKUR (Iceland)
Eenmaal afgestudeerd van de Toneelschool in
IJsland werd Baltasar Kormákur snel een bekend en
gerespecteerd acteur in eigen land. Grensoverschrijdende erkenning krijgt hij door de regie van zijn
internationaal gelauwerde langspeelfilms 101 Reykjavík (met oa. Victoria Abril in de hoofdrol) en The
Sea. Later speelde hij ondermeer nog in de
Belgisch-IJslandse coproductie Stormy Weather
(2003). In 2006 wordt in België zijn nieuwste film A
Little Trip to Heaven gereleased, met Forest Whitaker
in de hoofdrollen).
After he graduated from the School of Acting in
Iceland, Baltasar Kormákur became a well-known
and respected actor in Iceland. As a director he got
worldwide recogniction with his films 101 Reykjavik
(with Victoria Abril as main character) and The Sea..
Later he also acted in the Belgian-Icelandic-French
co-production Stormy Weather. In 2006 his new film A
Little Trip to Heaven will be released (starring Forest
Whitacker).

Selected Shorts, the short film dvd label of the International Short
Film Festival Leuven, hasn’t let the grass grow under its feet. The
label launched three dvd’s in less than a year’s time. After 10 Jaar
Leuven Kort (november 18th, 2004) and Selected Shorts #1 (april
20th, 2005), the third dvd Selected Shorts #2 was released on
November 3rd, 2005.
Selected Shorts, het kortfilm dvd label van het Internationaal Kortfilmfestival Leuven, laat er geen gras over groeien. Na de verzamel
dvd 10 Jaar Leuven Kort (release; 18 nov. 2004) en Selected Shorts
#1 (release: 20 april 20505) verscheen op 3 november 2005 de derde
dvd die de organisatie uitgaf op minder dan een jaar tijd.
Selected Shorts is niet enkel een dvd label maar speelt tevens de rol
van kortfilmdistributeur. Het label beschikt immers over de publieke
vertoningsrechten van de (meeste van de) uitgegeven
kortfilms. Op die manier kunnen cultuur- en kunstencentra, bioscopen, festivals en organisaties allerhande kortfilmvertoningen organiseren op een technisch eenvoudige én bovendien zeer betaalbare
wijze.
Selected Shorts is more than a dvd label; it also plays the role of
short film distributor. The label maintains the public screening rights
for the majority of its released titles. Hereby it allows cultural- and
arts centres, cinemas and festivals to organise short film screenings
in a technically simple and financially attractive way.

FESTIVALCAFÉ: PROGRAMMA
FESTIVAL BAR: PROGRAMME
During 8 days, the STUK bar will be an attractive meeting place for all the
festival’s visitors, artists and staff. In this bar, there will be previews of the
different programmes as well as performances of DJ’s, VJ’s and bands. All
the events in the festival café are FREE. Concerts and DJ-sets start around
22.00 PM.
Het STUKcafé fungeert 8 dagen lang als sfeervol festivalcafé, festivalcentrum en ontmoetingsplaats. Heel het festival lang worden er previews van de
verschillende programma’s vertoond en betreden een hele rits DJ’s, VJ’s en
bands het podium. Het festivalcafé is uiteraard GRATIS toegankelijk. De
optredens en DJ-sets starten omstreeks 22u.

Deze Leuvense band rond Tom Van de Goor ontstond in 2004 uit de as van
Les Cicatrices en Tryptich, twee Leuvense underground-iconen van weleer.
Wilson serveert een subtiele balans tussen bitterzoete melodieën en gentle
noise.
This band of Tom Van de Goor & Co rose in 2004 from the ashes of Les
Cicatrices and Tryptich, two former underground icons from Leuven. Wilson

DIJF SANDERS
Deze naar Antwerpen overgewaaide Bruggeling is zonder meer dé grote belofte van het moment. Dijf staat voor een mix tussen bebop, swing, jazz, pop
en elektro; een crossover tussen Tom Waits, Aphex Twin en Biosphere. Zijn
band breidde recent uit met trompettist Jon Birdsong, die eerder actief was
bij Calexico en Beck. Onlangs nog in de aftershow van de dEUS concerten,
nu in het festivalcafé.
Originally from Bruges but living in Antwerp, Dijf Sanders is undoubtedly thé great musical promise of the moment Dijf brings a mix between
bebop, swing, jazz, pop and elektro; a crossover between Tom Waits, Aphex
Twin and Biosphere. His band recently expanded with trumpet player Jon
Birdsong (formerly Calexico and Beck). Recently in the aftershow of dEUS
concerts, now in the festival bar.

De 24-jarige Gentenaar is een van dé revelaties van het jaar. Jerboa pakt
uit met soundscape-achtige vibes over jazzyfunky beats tot instrumentale
hiphop en combineert het betere samplewerk met live instrumenten. Of in
zijn eigen woorden “A blend of haunting melodies & expressionist beats”.
The 24-year old Ghent-based DJ Jerboa is one of this year’s revelations.
Jerboa displays a set of soundscaping vibes over jazzyfunky beats to
instrumental hip hop, and hereby combines the better sampling with live
instruments. In his own words: “A blend of haunting melodies & expressionist beats”.

TICKET PRIZES
Voor een voorstelling betaal je 5,5 euro. Met STUK-kaart: 4 euro per ticket.
Je kan ook een ZESxZED kaart aanschaffen: 6 tickets naar keuze voor 24
euro. Deze kaart is geldig gedurende het hele festival (én kan, indien niet
alle plaatsen gebruikt zijn, ook de rest van het seizoen nog gebruikt worden
in Cinema ZED). De ZESXZED kaart is niét strikt persoonlijk. De kaart kan
enkel aan het STUK-onthaal gekocht worden.De lounge en het festivalcafé
zijn GRATIS toegankelijk.
A normal ticket costs 5,5 euro. Special reduction for holders of STUK-card
(4 euro/ticket) or ZESxZED-card: 6 screenings of your personal choice for 24
euro. This ZESxZED-card is not strictly personal, and can be used throughout
the whole festival (and, if the card is not fully used, also during the rest of the
season in Cinema ZED). All tickets can be bought at the STUK ticketing service. All events in the lounge and the festival café are FREE.

possible!). Reserved tickets must be collected latest 20 minutes before the

to come and buy your tickets early!

From the railway station:
Follow the Bondgenotenlaan heading for the city centre, until you arrive at the
Grote Markt. The Naamsestraat is the first street on your left hand beyond the
town hall. The STUK is situated on number 96, on your right hand.
Coming from Brussels (E40 Brussel - Luik):
Take exit 22 (“Leuven”). After a sharp curve, you arrive on the E314. Immediately take the first exit (Exit 15: “Leuven”). Follow this road straight ahead
(Koning Boudewijnlaan), hereby crossing 2 traffic lights. Just before entering
the city, you see a viaduct. Take right, and follow the city ring of Leuven until
the first traffic lights (Naamsepoort). Here you take left, for Naamsestraat.
STUK Arts Centre is situated on number 96, on your left hand.
Coming from Hasselt (E314 Hasselt - Leuven):
Take exit 15 (“Leuven”). Follow this road straight ahead (Koning Boudewijnlaan), hereby crossing 2 traffic lights. Just before entering the city, you see a

Always follow the city ring of Leuven, until you reach the Naamsepoort. Take

Vanuit het station:
Stap de Bondgenotenlaan door, richting centrum. Je komt op de Grote
Markt. Aan je linkerkant zie je het Leuvense stadhuis. Het stadhuis ligt op
de hoek van de Grote Markt en de Naamsestraat. Sla dus onmiddellijk nà het
stadhuis links af. Je bent nu in de Naamsestraat. Het STUK bevindt zich op
nummer 96, aan je rechterkant.
Vanop de E40 Brussel - Luik:
Neem afrit 22 (“Leuven”). Na de scherpe bocht kom je op de E314. Neem
onmiddellijk de eerste afrit (Afrit 15: “Leuven”). Je komt op de Koning
Boudewijnlaan. Volg deze 4-baansweg. Je passeert 2 lichten. Na de 2e
lichten kom je aan een viaduct. Sla net voor het viaduct rechtsaf. Je bevindt
je nu op de ring rond Leuven. Je komt uit op de Naamsepoort. Ga aan de
lichten linksaf, de Naamsestraat in. Het STUK bevindt zich op nummer 96,
aan je linkerkant.
Vanop E314 Hasselt - Leuven:
Neem afrit 15 (“Leuven”). Je komt op de Koning Boudewijnlaan. Rij steeds
rechtdoor. Je passeert 2 lichten. Vervolgens kom je aan een viaduct. Sla
net vóór het viaduct links af. Je bent nu op de ring rond Leuven. Aan de de
eerstvolgende lichten (de Naamsepoort) sla je linksaf, de Naamsestraat in.
Het STUK bevindt zich op nummer 96, aan je linkerkant.

PARKING
Halfway on the Naamsestraat, heading for the city centre, there is an underground parking on your left hand (H. Hartparking), just before the STUK.
Here you can park from 19u00 to 7u00 for a fixed price of 3 euro.
Als je vanop de Leuvense ring de Naamsestraat inrijdt, is er aan je linkerkant
(net voor je het STUK tegenkomt) de Heilig Hartparking (tegenover het
Heilig Hartziekenhuis). Hier kan je onbeperkt avondparkeren van 19u00
tot 7u00 voor een vast bedrag van 3 euro.

Na het fascinerend Holoceen 1: Jeruzalem nemen
de jonge Berlin-makers nu Iqaluit, de hoofdstad
van Eskimoland (Nunavut) onder de loep.
Met theater en film maken ze een portret van deze
geïsoleerde stad die balanceert tussen oeroude
tradities en nieuwe wegen.

Abke Haring studeerde in 2002 af aan het
Herman Teirlinckinstituut met de zelfgeschreven
monoloog Nageslachtsfarce/genocide. Sindsdien
wisselt ze acteren af met schrijven en regisseren.
Als actrice was ze in Het Toneelhuis te zien in
Het kouwe kind en Turista. Over haar nieuwe
monoloog wil ze niet veel kwijt. We weten dat hij
HOOP heet. We weten dat zij een fantastische
actrice is. En dat ze weerspannige teksten schrijft,
die ze dan zelf speelt. HOOP.
Niemand minder dan auteur Ivo Michiels
schreef voor deze voorstelling een nieuwe tekst:
- Fluister eens het woord jij in jullie jij-taal.
- Iwit
- En jullie?
- Ilissi.
- Het lijkt op ‘illusie’… een beetje gemeen
van me, ik geef het toe.
- Als je bij minus 35 graden Celsius kokend water
in de lucht werpt,
tuimelen er kristallen over je heen.
- Als je telefoneert bij plus 35 graden Celsius
naar iemand die zit te knorren bij minus 35
graden Celsius, wat komt er dan naar beneden?
Juist, meneer Vinnie, dat heb je goed: een
begin… A propos, ik heb een dochter, een meisje
van zes, Hanna heet ze.
