2016 Golf Season Preview
As we begin to see longer days, more sunlight, and some green
grass we would like to give everyone a brief reminder of some of
the services offered at the golf shop:
Bag care- We have open spaces for bags in the bagroom. Your
clubs will be right here at the club so you can enjoy the convenience of not having to worry about storing, transporting, cleaning,
or even touching your bag before you go play. Every time you
come out your clubs will be loaded on a cart before you head out
and when you complete your round they will be cleaned and
stored right here for your convenience. They will also have
name labels on each club (in case you forget or lose a club) as
well as a CC of Jackson bag tag put on bag. The cost of bag care
is $95 per year.
Past Club President Gerald Franklin
gets a hug from the Easter Bunny
Push Cart Storage- We are also happy to store your pushcart so
you don’t have the hassle of loading and unloading from your
trunk each time you play. Your clubs will be loaded on your cart
by our friendly bag staff when you come out to play. Cost for
push cart storage is $75 per year.
Junior bag storage- Junior sets can also be stored for $45 per
season. Junior bags are considered those 13 and under.
Club repair- We offer a wide variety of club repairs. Regripping,
loft and lie angle adjustments, and cutting down clubs can all be
done right on site. We can also take care of reshafting of broken
clubs as well as putting in the lastest high-tech shaft to match your
swing. Clubs should be regripped every 40 rounds or every other year, new grips give you that ‘new club’ for much less than
purchasing new equipment.
Merchandise- We carry all the latest name brands in equipment
and apparel at outstanding prices! Members and their guests receive member pricing on all merchandise which is considerably
less than retail prices. If we don’t have your size, color, or if
there is something special you are looking for we will be happy to
try to ‘special order’ it for you!!!
Ladies Evening Out !
Instruction/Fitting- We have three PGA professionals on site;
Director of Golf-Ron Beurmann Golf Shop, Head ProfessionalHenry Thompson, Assistant Professional– Patrick Humphrey.
We are all happy to help improve golfers of all skill levels improve their games. We also provide and RECOMMEND club
fitting with all club purchases. Please feel free to set up time with
any of us for a lesson or fitting.

MEMORIAL DAY BUFFET
HOW ARE OUR
SERVICE STAFF EMPLOYEES PAID ?
MONDAY, MAY 30, 2016
(a’la carte service ends at 3:30 pm.)
A Family Buffet
DO THE SERVICE EMPLOYEES RECEIVE THE
SERVICE CHARGE ON YOUR CHITS?
Not directly, but indirectly through much higher
wages and benefits.
Most service persons in
public restaurants are paid restaurant minimum
wage and are left a cash tip on the table. At the
Club, the service charge automatically charged on
your bill is pooled and paid out entirely in the form
of higher wages and vacation based on skill,
seniority and willingness.
Other benefits to
working full time at the Club not always common
in the public sector are: Medical-Dental-Vision
Insurance and a Pension Program. The Staff also
receives unemployment when the Club is closed or
not open to full capacity.
Home Smoked Ribs, BBQ Chicken,
Grilled Sirloin Steaks, Grilled Burgers,
Dogs and Sausages, Sweet Corn,
Baked Beans, Baked Potato Bar
Salads and Appetizers
An Ice Cream Sundae + Dessert
Buffet
5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
RESERVATIONS PLEASE
$24. Adults,
$15 Young Adults 11-17 Years
$6. Children 4-10 Years
WHY NOT JUST HAVE THE SERVICE PERSON
RECEIVE THE SERVICE CHARGE
FROM MY
TABLE???
In this scenario, the best stations for service staff
would be on the Banquets that always have a
higher check average and customer count per staff
member. With the Club’s current system, more
skilled and senior servers can be kept in the most
important area of service, the Member’s Dining
Rooms.
Regular Lunch service
until 3:30 p.m.
Cart or Caddie Required
on Weekends
until 3 p.m.
CAN A MEMBER LEAVE A TIP THAT THE SERVER
WILL GET ?
YES ! Many of our staff members could certainly
earn more money at a cash restaurant where the
customer count is much higher. It is always an
added incentive for a server to receive an extra
gratuity for good service. Just write on your check
“EXTRA GRATUITY” and an amount. Make sure the
word “Extra” is there. That server will receive the
amount OR percentage you specify. It certainly is
not expected or required !!

Tournament play will once again include all
three nines. The format will be the same as years
past with two major differences. The committee has
decided to open the field to in-town guests. We will
also have a Gross winner this year as well as the net
winner. The field will be divided into 3 groups and will
be played on all three nines each day. Although each
participant may not be playing the same course on a
given day, by the end of the tournament they will
have played each nine twice. Lunch will be a cookout,
outside the Mixer, on Friday and Saturday during play.
The awards dinner immediately following play
on Saturday will be the same as in 2015. The goal of
the committee is to keep this one of the best events
the club has!
Favors for each participant will be distributed
Thursday during registration. The derby participants
on Friday night will again earn their participation in
this grand spectacle from the best low net scores
from Thursday and Friday’s rounds.
The atmosphere and non-golf camaraderie will
again be spectacular! The Friday Casual Party and Saturday Awards Banquet are always great fun. The Waterford Crystal prizes will be treasured for years. The
cost of $750.00 per team
