More travelers are seeking an experience that provides a deeper connection to the place they are visiting. Hawai’i, with its unique
customs, history, language and cuisine, offers a rich cultural experience unlike any other. Led by full-time Cultural Coach, Jonelle Kamai,
The Fairmont Kea Lani’s Hawaiian Cultural Program was recently voted to be the best on Maui by readers of The Maui News.
Hawaiian Culture in Activities
Select from outrigger canoe paddling, ‘Ōlelo Hawai‘i (Hawaiian language class), lei making, ukulele lessons, hula lessons,
Hawaiian crafts, Hawaiian myths & legends, Hawaiian cultural tour, frawn weaving or stargazing/navigation.
Hawaiian Culture in Spa
Willow Stream Spa offers locally-inspired experiences that combine Maui-sourced products, oils and herbs with ancient
Hawaiian tradition to restore your mana (energy) and achieve kaulike (internal balance).
Hawaiian Culture in Dining
Over 90% of the produce at The Fairmont Kea Lani is locally sourced, fish is caught and cooked right off the boat and
grass-fed Maui Cattle Company steak and hamburgers is the norm.

employee’s family recipes.
Hawaiian Culture in Weddings
The Ka Male ‘Ana Hawai’i wedding package emulates an ancient Hawaiian
wedding ceremony that may have taken place over three hundred years ago.
The ceremony is performed by a Kahu (Hawaiian minister) who is the
great, great grandson of Queen Ka’ahumanu, the favorite wife of
Hawai’i’s first king, Kamehameha.

In Hawai’i, canoe regattas serve as a weekly gathering for paddlers and their
families to eat, drink, relax, laugh and play by the ocean. In celebration of Hawai‘i’s modern canoe lifestyle, Ama Bar & Grill offers a taste
of modern Hawai‘i, featuring everything from contemporary poke¯ bowls to plate
lunch specials in a relaxed, outdoor and social atmosphere with an unobstructed
view of the pacific. It's the perfect place to bring together family and friends, to
eat, drink, relax and talk story.
