Features And Benefits.
Cummins G/GTA8.3 delivers reliable performance with reduced
maintenance. Every time. Because it shares many of the same
heavy-duty components with the highly successful and versatile
Cummins C Series diesel engine – with millions of C Series
engines in use around the globe. Here are some of the heavyduty components that make the G/GTA8.3 the right choice for
your applications:

Lubrication System – High-capacity 9.25-gallon oil pan
is standard. Positive pressure lubrication feed to all internal
bearing and wear surfaces.
(1) 90˚F (32˚C) or lower water temperature to aftercooler.
Speed Control – Adjustable pressure-compensated
hydraulic governor provides precise and stable rpm control
under all load conditions.
Additional ratings are available. Check with your Cummins distributor.
(2) 130°F (54°C) or lower water temperature to aftercooler.
(3) Engine capable of NOx emissions of less than 10 tons per year.
(4) Engine capable of engine out emissions for NOx / CO / NMHC of 4.0 / 2.0 / 1.0 gr/hp hr, respectively.
All data is based on the engine operating with fuel system, water pump, and 9 in H2O (229 mm H2O)
inlet air restriction with 5 in (127 mm) inner diameter, and with 2 in Hg (51 mm Hg) exhaust restriction
with 6 in (152 mm) inner diameter; not included are alternator, fan, optional equipment and driven
components. Coolant flows and heat rejection data based on coolants as 50% ethylene glycol/50%
water. All data is subject to change without notice.
Warranty – Cummins one year, unlimited hours.

Data represents gross engine capabilities obtained and corrected in accordance with SAE J1995 and
ISO 3046 conditions of 29.61 in Hg (100 kPa) barometric pressure (500 ft [152 m] altitude), 77ºF (25ºC)
inlet air temperature and 0.30 in Hg (1 kPa) water vapor pressure using dry processed natural gas fuel
with 1035 BTU per standard cubic foot (38.56 kJ/I) lower heating value. Deration may be required due
to altitude, temperature and type of fuel. Consult Cummins Customer Engineering for operation above
this altitude.
