AQUATIC PROGRAMS
AQUATIC: GENERAL INFORMATION

well. To make our facility as safe as possible, children 7 years of age and under must be accompanied in the
water and be within arms reach of a parent or guardian 14 years of age or older. The ratio of children 7 years
& under per adult is 3 to 1. This policy is referred to as the “Within Arms Reach Policy.”

(especially seizure disorders) should be accompanied by another
person knowledgeable of their condition.
Safe Swimming: Please remember to respect the following
guidelines during your swim...
•Respect Aquatic Staff and the other swimmers
•Follow the pool rules - they are there for your safety.
•Let the Lifeguards know if you have a question or need first aid.
•Use appropriate language at all times.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Refund Policy: A full refund will be made upon cancellation of a class or activity by the
Leamington Department of Culture and Recreation. Refunds will not be possible in the event of an
unexpected situation such as inclement weather, power failure, building evacuation, mechanical
difficulties or a pool fouling. In the event of a pool fouling every effort will be made to teach classes on
deck. Requests for refunds and credits must be received in writing prior to the third class. Refunds and
credits will be prorated from the date of the request. A Doctor’s note must accompany a refund request.
Refunds for programs will be charged an administration fee of $15.00. Please allow 1-2 weeks for the
processing of refunds. Approved refunds will be mailed to your home.
Transfers: Requests for transfers are based on class availability.
Waiting List: If you cannot be accommodated in any of your selections, you can request to be placed
on a waiting list. Participants cannot be registered in one class and on a waiting list for another. Individuals
on a waiting list will be contacted only if a space becomes available, or if a class has been added.
“Make-up classes” are not available for missed classes.
Easy Steps To Successful Swim Lessons: Before the first lesson starts, come to recreational swimming at our
pool. Have fun in the water and practice the swimming skills you or your child already know. Your pre-visit to the
pool will make your first day of lessons a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Recreational swimming will give you an
opportunity to try out new things and have a fun time in the water. Talk about the lessons with your child. Make sure
that you have realistic expectations. The program is not designed for everyone to complete each level every time they
register... Remember, once you know a skill, you can still get better, faster, stronger.
FAMILY CHANGE ROOM: The Family Change Room is open to accommodate all parents/guardians with their opposite
gender children, as they change and prepare for Complex programs. The Family Change Room features private changing
stalls, private lockers, infant change area, showers, and grooming area.
Children 6 years of age or older are asked to use the appropriate gender dressing room. Children under 6 years may use
any dressing room accompanied by an adult 14 years of age or older. For cleanliness and safety reasons, participants
must enter pool area through the shower area.
Board of Health Regulation state:
page 16

AQUATIC PROGRAMS
FAMILY SWIM LESSON
This program is a great opportunity for the entire family to participate in the learn to swim program. Family lessons are a less
structured approach where the instructor may teach multiple levels. This program is most effective if the participants are within
2 swim levels of each other. Larger gaps between participant levels can still be accommodated, however since the levels will
have very different requirements, all skill requirements may not be met in one session. Safety is our main concern. Participants
