Any type of bullying or violent behavior is grounds for immediate dismissal from the program. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Q: How do I know if a class, meeting or rehearsal is delayed or canceled? A: We will do our best to post announcements on the website (www.HdGDramaTroop.com), our Facebook page (HdG Drama Guild / KEG Productions), our Facebook group (HDG DG Info), & send out emails to the affected groups. If neither staff nor a substitute is available & we must cancel, we will attempt to contact you via phone or text. Q: Does my child need to be potty trained to participate? A: Yes. Q: Do I have to stay in the building during my child’s meetings & rehearsals? A: It is not a requirement that you stay in the building. However, if you choose to stay, we ask that you stay outside the meeting/rehearsal room. Q: Am I responsible for paying for my own script? A: Yes. Please note that the cost of scripts may vary from production to production. As long as the scripts are not rented, they are yours to keep. If they are rented, you may be charged a rental fee. The libretto for the musical will be rented. All notes must be written in pencil. The libretto is not yours to keep. A deposit will be required before you receive the script which will be returned to you when the script is returned at the end of the show provided it is clean. Q: Am I responsible for supplying my/my child’s costume? A: You will need to supply certain parts of your/your child’s costume. Generally, this will include shoes, socks, underwear, etc. Whatever you supply – you keep. Whatever the Guild supplies – the Guild will keep. On occasion, we may ask you to supply the entire costume if a part calls for “modern clothing” that you or your child can continue to use after the production as everyday wear. Q: How do I satisfy the new mandatory volunteer requirement? A: There will be opportunities throughout the year – including but not limited to set builds, set break downs, chaperoning, & working ticket/concession sales at various performances. There will be a sign-‐up sheet at orientation & all troupe meetings, as well as a webpage at Volunteerspot.com where you can sign up online. Go to the Guild website & look for the link on the homepage. Q: What supplies do I/my child need? A: This will be decided by the troupe leader or director & will be announced at the first meeting. Generally, a pencil, yellow highlighter & your script (which will be given to you) are expected. For girls, we generally like them to come with their hair away from their face. Headbands & ponytail holders work well. PLEASE NOTE: We ask all of our actors to make sure that they have black shoes that they can dance in (no treads on the soles), a pair of black pants/leggings (that they are capable of dancing in), & a long sleeve black shirt (the Guild t-‐shirts work great for this). This attire is customarily used underneath a variety of types of costumes & may be difficult to find once Spring approaches. In addition, actors might be required to make quick costume changes in the wings of the stage. We strongly recommend that they have camisoles/t-‐shirts & shorts (not loose fitting) in black or white to wear over their underwear for these quick changes.
