THE HOW-TO
Prelightening Formula: Vero K-PAK Crème Lightener with 10 volume (3%) Veroxide
Highlight Formula 1: Joico Color Intensity 1 part Light Purple + 1 part Clear (purple foil)
Highlight Formula 2: Joico Color Intensity 1 part Hot Pink + 1 part Clear (pink foil)
Violet Base Formula: Vero K-PAK Color ¾ 7V + ¼ 6V with 10 volume (3%) Veroxide
PHASE 1: PRELIGHTENING
Before: Model has bleached Level 10
hair with a ¾-inch regrowth of Level 7
dark blonde.
Apply Prelightening Formula to regrowth and
process to a Level 12 Platinum Blonde.
Proceed to Phase 2.
PHASE 2: COLOR TECHNIQUE
1 Section the hair from a side
parting, leaving a small lightened
overhang to fall on top of the
highlighted color. Section a small
pie-shaped triangle that is narrow
at the crown (¼-inch wide) and
wider toward the fringe area
(approximately 1½-inches wide).
2 Take a narrow, diagonal slice
parting at the back (toward
the crown) and apply Highlight
Formula 1 to a ¼-inch from the
scalp area (at the edge of the
foil) through to the ends.
3 Take two additional narrow,
diagonal slice partings with
Color Formula 1, for a total
of three back-to-back slice
partings.
4 Proceed to the front/ fringe
area. Take a diagonal slice
parting and apply Highlight
Formula 2.
5 Continue to take narrow,
diagonal back-to-back slice
partings with Highlight Formula
2, for a total of three slice
partings.
6 Completed foiling procedure.
Apply Violet Base Formula to all
the remaining blonde hair from
scalp to ends and process for
35 minutes.
7 Apply K-PAK shampoo; rinse. Apply
K-PAK Cuticle Sealer for 5 minutes;
rinse. Apply K-PAK Intense Hydrator for
5 minutes; rinse. Dry hair and style with
appropriate Joico styling products.
