Avalon Lakes
Avalon Lakes is one of the premier golf courses in the world designed by
legendary golf course architect, Pete Dye. The Lakes offers 5 sets of tees that
range from 4904 yards to 7551 yards. Offering a variety for all skill levels,
this par 72 golf course features undulating greens, beautiful terrain and plenty
of ‘lakes’. Our signature hole is number 8, a majestic peninsula par 3 that
plays from 128 yards to 244 yards. The usual pin placement is located only
steps from the water’s edge.

Squaw Creek
Squaw Creek is one of the oldest championship caliber golf courses in the
Midwest. Her mature tree lined fairways provide the golfer with a visually
magnificent memory. Squaw Creek offers 5 sets of tees that can range from
4990 yards to 7372 yards. Your walk in the park experience will test golfers of
all skill levels. Squaw Creek was designed by Stanley Thompson, a highly
talented Canadian golf course architect with more than 150 courses in his
portfolio. Our signature hole is number 12, a short par 4 dogleg left that
commands utmost precision off the tee and feather-like touch on and around
the green.

Buhl Park
Buhl Park is a classic country club golf course that plays from 5450 yards to
6369 yards. This course has some of the fastest and well guarded greens you
will see anywhere. Buhl Park may be our most challenging course from the
member tees. Its signature hole is number 18, a truly picturesque par 3
surrounded by water that can stretch to 220 yards. With over its 100+ years of
existence it has been played by some of the worlds greatest golfers.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many courses does The Avalon Inn have to offer?
We have three 18 hole facilities, Avalon Lakes, Squaw Creek and Buhl Park.
What is the pace of play for each course?
Each course is paced between 4 to 4 1/2 hours. We will also add an additional 30 minutes to a round if we are cart
path only.
What type of rental clubs do you offer?
We have premium rental clubs available. When renting clubs, club sharing is prohibited. Call the Avalon Lakes
Golf Shop for more information at 330-856-8898.
Are caddies available for our round of golf?
Currently The Avalon Inn does not offer a caddie program. We encourage our guests to rent one of our luxurious
golf carts. Walking is always permitted.
How can I find out when you will aerify the greens on your courses?
Our aerification schedule varies throughout the year and is subject to change. Please inquire about the schedule
when you book your package.
What is the cart path rule for the day?
Each day we determine whether or not the carts may leave the path. Please call the golf shop at 330-856-8898 for
the cart rule of the day.
Do any of the courses have GPS carts?
All 3 of our courses offer GPS units in our carts.
May I bring a cooler filled with my own drinks and food to the golf course?
No, coolers and outside food and beverages are no permitted. All food and beverages must be purchased from
Avalon.
I am handicapped and would like to have a handicap flag. What do I do? And what does the handicap flag allow
me to do?
We require a written doctor’s note or disability card in order to obtain a handicap flag. Golf carts with handicap
flags will be allowed the following guidelines:
 Players may drive carts inside cart path but please return carts to the paths at the cart posts
 Players may not drive closer than 10 yards from any greens or fairway bunker
 Carts must remain on the cart path in restricted areas, such as par threes and holes designated ‘Cart Path Only’

Can we leave our clubs at the golf course during our stay?
We will be happy to store your clubs during the duration of your stay. All clubs will be safely locked into our bag
storage room at the end of each night.
I noticed all of your packages are based on double occupancy. What would I pay if I wanted my own room?
We do have Luxury King rooms available for our guests who prefer to stay in their own room. The cost of this
room would increase your package by $74.00 per night.
I am interested in having a golf lesson during my visit, is this available?
Golf instruction is available for all resort guests. We have multiple professionals available to help golfers of all
skill levels. Please inquire at the golf shop. Appointments required.
What types of payments are accepted in the golf shops?
We accept cash and all major credit cards. Please be advised that we add an administrative fee of 3.5% to all credit and debit purchases in the golf shops.
