Welcome!
I’m delighted to welcome you to the third Access
All Areas open day for the community. Building on the positive feedback from
past events, our programme incorporates popular attractions from previous years and includes
activities which are new for 2015.
When I arrived at Aber almost four years ago,
I was aware that we arranged some fantastic
open days for prospective students and it
has been a longstanding aim to open up the
campus to the local community. We believe
that our Access All Areas day is the perfect
opportunity for you, our neighbours in the
town and the surrounding area, to explore
our campuses, meet some of the University’s
excellent staff and find out more about
some of the really great work happening
here.
We want to celebrate our strong ties with
the local community and encourage people
to take advantage of what we have to offer.
We are working closely with local schools,
colleges, adult learners, local suppliers
and businesses to make the University
even more accessible and I’m pleased that
you have been able to join me and my
colleagues today.
I hope you enjoy your day at the University;
please remember you are welcome to visit at
any time, to use our fantastic facilities such
as the Sports Centre, the Arts Centre and our
excellent cafés and restaurants.
I look forward to meeting you in the very
near future, and catching up with last year’s
attendees!
