NEWMARKET - lone (Griffin) Kent, 88, of Newmarket died Thursday evening, dec. 30 at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover after a short illness.
Mrs. Kent was born in Newmarket June 23, 1894,
daughter of the late John and Abbie (Bartlett) Griffin.
She was raised in Newmarket, and was a graduate of
Robinson Seminary of Exeter and Mt. Holyoke
College, class of 1917 in South Hadley, Mass. She
taught school!;in Claremont and Mt. Holly, N.J.
She was a charter member of the Robert G. Durgin
American L~gion Auxiliary 67 of Newmarket. She was
pas.t pr~sident of the Pisc.ataqua Pioneers, past regent
an(i regIstrar of the Gramte Chapter of the Daughters
of the American Revolution of Newfields and most
recently a member of the Exeter Chapter of the DAR.
She was a member of the Newmarket Community
Church and past president of the Friendly Club of the
church. She was a member of the Newmarket Historical Society and most recently the scribe for the class of
1917 for the Mt. Holyoke Quarterly.
She is survived by one daughter, Miss Lois Kent of
Ne';Vmarket;two sons, Roy E. Kent of Newmarket and
,~A;:'Col.John F. Kent, U.S. Army retired, of Anchor:",'age, Ala.;
three
grandchildren;
two greatgrandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Caroline Colby of Mt.
Dora, Fla.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held last Monday from the
Brisson and Kent Funeral Home, Newmarket. The
Rev. Jahn Horgen, pastor of the Barrington Evangelical
Free Church, and Rev. Shane Estes, pastor of the Newmarket Community Church, officiated. Burial will be in
Riverside Cemetery, Newmarket.
Bearers were Richmond Walker, David Duquette,
Ralph S. Walker, Warren Sawyer, Jr., Dr. L. Forbes
Getchell and John Tavlor Kent. Those attending services included representatives from the Exeter Chapter of the D.A.R., Newmarket Woman's Club, Robert
G. Durgin, A.L. Auxiliary Unit 67, Senior Citizens of
Newmarket and the Southeastern Christian Academy.

vENFIELD - Mrs. Eunice (Clapp) Kendrigan, 87, died
Monday, April 16, at her home on Stevens Street aftl:!r
a brief illness.
She was a native of North Scituate, Mass., and had
resided in Newmarket for several years before coming
to this area in 1959. She was a widow of Benjamin Kendrigan.
Mrs. Kendrigan was a graduate of North Scituate
schools and the Emerson and Bridgewater normal
schools.
She taught kindergarten for many years, and while in
Newmarket she owned and operated a pre-school/kindergarten program.
Mrs. Kendrigan was active in extension work, was a
member of the Newmarket Grange, was past president
of the N.H. State PTA, and was past matron of the
Orient Chapter, OES, of Exeter.
She was also a member and active worker in the Enfield Community Church.
The family includes a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Jean
Beede of Enfield; two grandchildren; a brother, William Clapp of California; and nephews.
A memorial service was held at the Enfield Community Lutheran Church on Saturday, followed by blrial
in Oak Grove Cemetery.

LEE - Euna (Wilkie) Keniston, 86, of
Rt. 155, died suddenly Tuesday, Sept. 7,
1993, at the Exeter Hospital Emergency
Room.
Born Feb. 12, 1907, in Manchester,
she was the daughter of Arthur and Ivie
(Luce) Wilkie. She has lived in Lee for
many years.
She was a graduate of Haverhill High
School and Keen~ State Teachers College, Class of 1927. For many years she
taught at schools in Brentwood, Epsom, South Lee, and
the Center School of. Lee.
For over 60 years, she was a member of the Lee Church
Cqngregational, and served as a trustee and a member of
the church choir for many years.
She was a Past President of the Lee Women's Club and
was very active in sponsoring the 4-H program. She also
took an active part with the club in forming the new library, which was the Old Center School on Lee Hook Road.
A member of the Past President's Club of the N.H. FederationofWomen's
Clubs, she was also a member of the
Starboard Club which first lit the Village Green Tree in
the early '60s.
She was active for many years in the New England Polled Hereford Association and was an ardent Red Sox fan.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Robert L.
Keniston, Sr. of Lee; a son, Robert L. Keniston, Jr. of Lee;
three grandchildren, Rebecca Uhlenberg and Robin Fimlaid
of Lee, and Robert L. Keniston, ill, of Dover; three greatgrandchildren, Justin Fimlaid and Megan Uhlenberg of Lee,
and Justina Keniston of Peterborough; a niece, Mrs. J.
Derek (Joan) Seeley of Lee.
She was predeceased by a sister, Marjorie (Wilkie) Murphy and a brother, Howard Wilkie.
Funeral services were held on Friday, Sept. 10 from the
Lee Church Congregational, with Rev. James Livingston, .
Pastor, officiating. Burial followed in Lee Hill Cemetery,
Lee.

Wednesday, Nov. 13, 1996 at Exeter

Born Nov. 5, 1916 in Washington,
he was the son of George and Lillie
(Nantelle) Keller. For the past 58
years, he had resided in Newmarket.
During World War II, Keller
served in the U.S. Army and was a
life member of the Robert Durgin
American Legion Post No. 67.
He operated Bob's Lunch in Newmarket many years ago, and had
been employed at Public Service of
New Hampshire for 30 years, retiring in 1980.
A 50-year member of the Newmarket Volunteer Fire Department,'
Keller served as fire chief from 195871 and was a life member of the N.H.
Fire Chiefs Association.

of the Newmarket Senior Citizens
and Dover Senior Citizens.
He enjoyed playing whist and bingo, and was the recorder for Pa's
Bowling Team, Newmarket.
Keller was the last of the four
founding members of the Newmarket Handtub Association, for which
he was recently presented a certificate. He was also a life member of
the New England States Veterans
Firemens League.
Survivors include his wife of 56
years, Marguerite (Smith) Keller of
Newmarket; a son, Dick and his
wife, Pat Keller of Newmarket; a
daughter, Elaine and her husband,
Robert Zwiercan of Newmarket; two
sisters, Mrs. Vincent (Hazel) DiMambro of Dover and Mrs. Maurice
(Marion) Varney of Hart's Location;
a halfbrother, George Keller of Merrimack; nine grandchildren; seven
great-great grandchildren; and four
nephews.

uesday, Aug. 11, 1992 at Exeter Hospital after a long
illness.
Mrs. Khounrasaphipak was born Jan. 1, 1930 in Vientiane, Laos, the daughter of Kasy andSomvanma Southammavong, and had resided in Newmarket for the past 10
years. She was a member of the Buddhist Temple of Lowell, Mass.
She was the widow of Beuang Southammovong.
Survivors include three sons, Ou1am Koun1asa and
Kharnla Bone, both of Newmarket, and Pouxam Southamm<:>vongof France; two daughters in Laos; 16 grandchIldren; a brother and two sisters in Laos.
A funeral service was held by the Buddhist Monks of
the Lowell Temple on Tuesday, Aug. 11 from the Kent
and Pelczar Funeral Home, Newmarket.

DURHAM - Mrs. Jane T. Kingman, 89, of Durham
Rd., died at her home on Saturday, Dec. 4, 1993.
Born June 13, 1904 in Dover, she was the daughter of
George E. and Jenny (Dennett) Tuttle. She resided in Durham for the past 36 years. Previously she resided in Worcester, Mass. for five years and in Kansas City, Mo. for
10 years.
Mrs. Kingman was a graduate of Dover High School
and the University of New Hampshire Class of 1925.
She was a member and former treasurer of Strawbery
Banke Guild of Portsmouth, a member of the National Society of Colonial Dames, a member of the Warner House
of portsmouth, and the Durham Historical Society.
Mrs. Kingman was a member of the Unitarian Church
of Worcester, Mass.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Bradford
M. Kingman of Durham; two daughters, Jane K. McDonough of San Mateo, Calif. and Ann K. Valpey of Durham;
a son, Bradford S. Kingman of Concord, Mass.; and seven
grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Ma~or Nursing Home in Grand Rapids, Mich., where
she had lived for the past eight years.
Born Feb. 19, 1893, in New York she was the
daughter of Andrew and hannah (Davids,?n) Smith.

Newmarket and in Dover most of her life. She was an
active member of the Newmarket Community Church
and the Dover Baptist Church.
The widow of Milton A. Kimball, a former postmaIJ

- A graveside memorial service was
held Saturday, June 11, at the Riverside Cemetery for
Esther A. Kimball, 89, widow of the late Milton A.
Kimball, formerly of Durham Point Road in Newmarket.
The service was conducted by Ronald Gregoire, Pastor of Living Word Ministry, Dover, with a special
vocal and guitar music by Veronica Gregoire.
Friends and relatives attending came from as far as
Daytona Beach, Fla. and Scituate, R.I.
Mrs. Kimball died Jan. 22, 1983 in Grand Rapids,
Mich. where she had lived for the past eight years. She
leaves two children, a son, Melvin B. Kimball of Grand
Rapids, Michigan and a daughter, Dorothy K. Dore of
Daytona Beach, Fla.
She was also the beloved grandmother
of James
Dowe, Rochester,
Diana Jacques, Berwick, Me., and
Michael Dowe, Flagstaff, Arizona. She also leaves 11
great-grandchildren
and one great-great
granddaughter, and a sister-in-law, Bertha Kimball Garrity of West

Kimball, 77, of
Newmarket died Thursday, Nov. 3, at the Portsmouth
Regional Hospital.
Born Aug. 14, 1911 in North Berwick, Maine, the son
of Leon and Sarah Heona (Simes) Kimball, he had lived
in Florida from 1980 to 1988.
Before retiring in 1976, he had been employed at the
Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was a member of Beacon Light Chapter, Order of
Eastern Star; Yorkshire Lodge, AF&AM, of North Berwick, Maine; Kora Temple of Lewiston, Mine; and the
Quint-Cheney Post of the American Legion in North
Berwick.
Surviving are two sisters, Alice Morrill of Newmarket
and Marcia Elizabeth Spear of Orange, Mass.; and two
nieces.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Johnson
Funeral Home, North Berwick, Maine. Interment was in
Hillside Cemetery, North Berwick.

Road, died 'Tuesday, Sept. 20, 1994 at his home after a
brief inness.

He was born July 5, 1903 in Newmarket, and was the
son oft~e late Bela and Alice (Meader) Kingman. He summered m Durham for many years prior to moving there'
in 1957.
A graduate of Newmarket High School, Class of 1921,
he graduated from Dartmouth College in 1925 and received
his masters from Columbia Teachers College in New York.
Froin 1933 to 1938, Mr. Kingman was dean of Nichols
Junior College in Dudley, Mass. He was headmaster of
the Bancroft School in Worcester, Mass., from 1938 to
1943, and Pembroke Country Day School in Kansas City,
Mo:, from 1943 to 1953.
Mr. Kingman changed careers in 1953 and became vicepresident of the Worcester County Institution for Savings
in Worcester, Mass. In 1957 he came to the Portsmouth
Trust Company, Portsmouth, as president and held that position until his retirement in 1969. He remained as chairman of the board for several years.
He was president of the New Hampshire SPCA and
served on a number of boards including the Portsmouth
Hospital. He was a member of the Rising Star Lodge 47
F&AM in Newmarket since 1925.
Mr. Kingman was the husband of the late E. Jane (Tuttle) Kingman.
He is survived by one son, Bradford S. of Concord,
Ma.:-s.;Two daug.\1ters, Jane K. McDonOUgh of San Mateo,
Calif., and Ann K. Valpey of Durham; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Helen Kingman Guyer

Born March 29, 1911, in Boston, Mass., he had been
a resident of Newmarket for the past 34 years and had
previously lived in Exeter and South Boston, Mass .
. He retired as a shipping supervisor at the Macallen Co.
m Newma~ket after 34 years of service.
He was a member of St. Mary's Churdland active in
their clothing drives.
He had been actively involved with the Newmarket Youth
Center for several years.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member
of the Robert G. Durgin American Legion Post No. 67
the Newmarket Senior Citizens and the Newmarket His:
torical Society.
Sttrvivors include one son, Daniel L. Knox of Raymond;
and three grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday, Dec.
13, at St. Mary's Church with the Rev. John Finigan as

62, of Bay Road, died Thursday at Elliot Hospital in Manchester after a long
illness.
Born July 2, 1917,in Newmarket, the
son of the late Andrew and Mary Zych
Kruczek, he was a 1937 graduate of
Newmarket High School and a longtime
resident here. He was the owner and
operator of Kruczek's Garage, North
Main Street.
Mr. Kruczek served in the European
Theater during World War II, attaining
the rank of sergeant in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of the Robert G.
Durgin American Legion Post No. 67.
He was a well-known pitcher for area
baseball teams. Mr. Kruczek also was
the owner and operator of Kruczek's
Ice business from 1946to 1948.
He was a member of St. Mary's
Church, a former director of the American Citizens Club ofPoUsh Descent
and a former member of the Newmarket Water Board.
Members of his family include his

Newmarket, passed away here on April 29 at the age of
77. He had been a patient at the Brandywine Hall Care
Center and died after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Newmarket on Jan. 26, 1914 and was
a graduate of Newmarket High School.
He had been employed as a supervisor for Stride Rite
Shoes of Boston, Mass. for over 26 years.
He is survived by his wife, Joanna (Sopel) Kustra; sisters
Mary Hodsdon and Helen Burke of Newmarket. His
brother was the late Joseph Kustra, also of Newmarket.
Surviving children are Constance Piercey of Center Barnstead, N.H.; Robert Kustra of Stoneham, Mass.; Joyce Rizzo of Pennsylvania; and Richard Kustra of Stoneham, Mass.

He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.

N.H., she was the daughter of
Harry Abbott and Gertrude
Clara (Peek) White. She attended schools in Rye, Robinson
Female Seminary of Exeter,
and graduated from
Portsmouth High School before
attending Plymouth Business
College in Portsmouth.
She was employed by New
England Tel & Tel and was the
chief operator in Newmarket
and Durham. She also worked
as a bank teller at Indian Head
Bank, Newmarket, and Durham
Trust Co., Durham.
She was a member of the first
spouses graduating class of the
New England Institute of
Boston. She and her husband,
Roy E. Kent, operated the Kent
Funeral Home in Newmarket
for many years. Upon retiring,
they moved to Rollinsford in
1996.
For more than 50 years, she
was a member of the

She was an active member

NEWMARKET — Mrs. Tekla Kieltyka, 94, of 239 South Main St. died
Tuesday at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital
after a short illness.
Born in Poland on Aug. 19, 1883, she
was the daughter of Daniel and Catherine
Kazanowska Salwa and the widow of Joseph Kieltyka.
A resident here for 76 years, she was a
member of St. Mary's Church, the Polish
Women's Club and the American Citizen's
Club of Polish Descent. For many years
she had been an employee of the Newmarket Manufacturing Co.
On Aug. 25 of this year, she was
awarded the town's Boston Post Cane.
Survivors include three daughters,
Mrs. Mary Dynda of Poland and Mrs. John
(Stephanie) Bogacz and Mrs. Joseph
(Sophie) McGrath, both of Newmarket;
two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren -a sister, Mrs. Louise Rajchel of
Lowell, 'Mass.; several nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's
Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

NEWMARKET—Esther A. Kimball, 89, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 1983,
at Springbrook Manor Nursing Home
in Gand Rapids, Mich., where she
- had been a resident for the past eight
years.
Born Feb. 19, .1893, in New York,
she was the daughter of Andrew and
"Hannah (Davidson) Smith.
She had resided on Durham Point
Road in Newmarket and in Dover
most of her life. She was an active
member of the Newmarket Community Church and the Dover Baptist
Church.
The widow of Milton A. Kimball, a
former postman at the University of
New Hampshire, she is survivedd by
a son, Melvin B. Kimball of Grand
Rapids, Mich.; a daughter, Mrs.
Dorothy K. Dowe of Daytona Beach,
Fla.; seven grandchildren; and 12
great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at
a later date and will be announced.
Burial will be in Newmarket in the
spring.

NEWMARKET — Katherine
E. Kleczek, 83, of Dame Road
died Nov. 30, 2002, at her daughter's home in Newmarket.
Born May 28, 1919, in
Manchester, she was the daughter of Franciszek
and Katarzyna (Ludwin)
Smas. Raised in Manchester
she moved to Newmarket 1934.
Kay worked on the family
farm and also worked full time
in various factories in the
Seacoast area. She was also a
devoted mother, raising seven
children by herself. Kay loved
her flowers and gardens.
She was the widow of Stephen
Kleczek, who died in 1963.
Survivors include four sons,
Stephen Kleczek Jr. and his
wife, Brenda, Frank Kleczek
and his wife, Vicki, all of

NEWMARKET — Ralph M.
Knight, 82, of Packers Falls
Road, died Saturday, June 21,
2003, at Rockingham Nursing
Home, Brentwood. He had been
a Newmarket resident since 1947.
Born in Indianapolis, Ind., on
Dec. 26, 1920, he was the son of
Carl and Mary (Faulkner)
Knight. He worked as a tool and
die maker at General Electric
in Somersworth for 33 years.
He joined the U.S. Navy and
volunteered for submarine duty
and served in the Pacific during
World War II.
He was a life member of the
Robert G. Durgin American
Legion Post No. 67 and served
as commander, vice commander, treasurer, trustee and on
the executive board.
He served as commander of
Submarine Veterans of World
War II for eight years for Maine
and New Hampshire. He was a
member of the VFW in Lee,
Post No. 10676, and served as
quartermaster until his illness.
He volunteered at the Navy
Museum at the Portsmouth
Naval Shipyard and was a
member of the Navy Memorial
in Washington, D.C.
Survivors include his wife of
57 years, Muriel (Haley) Knight
of Newmarket; two sons, Alan
E. Knight of Alexandria, Va.,
and Robert A. Knight of
Littleton; three grandchildren;
a sister, Mrs. Helen Murphy of
Phoenix, Ariz.; one nephew and

May 5, 2003, after fighting a
lengthy illness.
Fred lived most of his life in
Newmarket and lived the last
five years with daughter Lisa

and son-in-law, Chip
Heginbotham, of Elyria, Ohio.
A very giving, honest man
and loving father, he spent 20
years in the U.S. Air Force
from 1946-1966 and most of his
working career at JD Cahill
Company in Hampton.
His loves and pastimes
included his granddaughters,
Sara and Emily, coin collecting,
teasing his son-in-law about
Ohio sports teams, discussing
politics and keeping up with
current news issues about his
New Hampshire home.
Freddy "Fuzz" had many
friends and family that will

courageous battle with

Dr. Kimball was a
professor of English at
Northern Essex Community College, Haverhill,
Mass., from 1961 until 1992,

English Department from 1961
until 1970.
He is survived by his wife
of 30 years, Anne M. Kimball,

He enjoyed collecting antique
clocks and spent many hours
repairing clocks with his good
friend, the late Douglas Livingston.
He enjoyed traveling and made
several trips to Europe and Israel
as well as touring Western national
parks and the Eastern seaboard.
He was an avid crossword puzzle
solver and especially enjoyed the
challenge of the New York limes
puzzles.
His gentleness, open-heartedness and sense of humor gained
him the love and friendship of
many. His greatest loves were
his family, his beagle, Freckles,
and serving his Lord and Saviour
through preaching and teaching the
Holy Scriptures.

NEWMARKET — Mrs. Victoria Kustra, 90, of Boardman Avenue, died at
her home Friday, Aug. 29, 1980, after a
short illness.
Mrs. Kustra was born in Poland on
March 19, 1890. She had resided in
Newmarket for the past 74 years. She
was formerly a weaver at the Newmarket Manufacturing Co. and later
was employed at Sam Smith Shoe until
her retirement in 1968.
She was a member of St. Mary's
Church, the American Citizens Club of
Polish Descent, the Polish Women's
Club and Grupa.
She is survived by two daughters,
Mrs. Helen Burke and Mrs. Mary Hodsdon, both of Newmarket; two sons,
John J. Kustra of Stoneham and J.
Misty Kustra of Newmarket; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren;
and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated on Monday at 9 a.m. from
St. Mary's Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery in Newmarket. Visiting
hours are Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 at the
Brisson and Kent Funeral Home, 41
Exeter St., Newmarket.
Flowers are acceptable or memorials
in her memory may be made to the
Newmarket Regional Health Center, 14
Elm St.
Mrs. Mary Kruczek, 70, passed
away April 16th at her home after
a long illness.
Mrs. Kruczek was born in Poland, March 31, 1896, the daughter of the late Thomas and Rozola
(Grochmal) Zych. She had made
her home in Newmarket for the
past 53 years.
She was a member of St.
Mary's parish, a member of the
American Citizen's Club of Polish
Descent, the Polish Women's Club
and a former member of the Polish National Alliance.
She is survived by her husband, Andrew H. Kruczek of
Newmarket, a son Chester J.
Kruczek of Newmarket, four
grandchildren, a brother Anthony
Zych of Durham, three sisters,
Mrs. Katherine Bleharczk, Mrs.
Helen Szepanik and Mrs. Loudwika Vojewoda oll of Poland,
several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held
Monday from the Brisson and
Kent Funeral Home, followed by
a solemn high Mass of requiem at
St. Mary's Church.
Rev. Paul Vaichunas was the
celebrant, Rev. Vincent Lawless
the deacon and Rev. Lionel Parenteau the sub-deacon.

Kleczek Sr, 55, died Nov. 24, 2010,
in Dover.
Born April 20, 1955 in Exeter,
he was the
son of the
late Stephen
and Katherine (Smas)
Kleczek. Ken
was a graduate of Dover
High School
and lived
most of his
life in the
KENNETH
Seacoast
KLECZEK
area.
Ken was a licensed electrician
and for many years was employed
with IBEW Local 490 in Dover.
Ken was a hard-working, caring individual with a free spirit.
He was also a good storyteller.
Ken enjoyed spending time with
family and friends, watching the
Patriots and eating chocolate.
He is survived by his sons, Kenneth Jr of Rochester and Andrew
of Hampton; his grandson,
Atreyu; his former wife, Sue
Hamel; and his siblings, Elaine
Parent of Lee, Stephen Kleczek
Jr. of Newmarket, Nancy Charest
of Northwood, Gene Kleczek of
Nottingham, and Frank Kleczek
and Cathy Richardson, both of
Newmarket. He also leaves aunts,
Jean Gagnon of Somersworth
and Mary Smas of Salisbury,
Mass.; and his uncle, Frank Smas
of Dover; and many cousins.
Family and friends are invited to

tradition and then a service to
acknowledge, honor, and show

Matthew T. Kennedy
Had Served in Numerous State, Town Officr
NEWMARKET, Feb. 20—Matthew
T. Kennedy, chief of the Newmarket Fire Department, and a
prominent grocer in this town for
38 years, died Sunday afternoon
in the Exeter hospital, following a
short illness. He had been in poor
health for three years.
Mr. Kennedy was born in Newmarket, Jan. 31, 1871, the son ofI
Thomas and Catherine Kennedy.
He was educated in the local
schools and before establishing a
business of his own was affiliated
with the W. W. Durell, Leavitt and
'Watterson stores here.
He was also prominent in town
and state affairs, having served as
state senator from this district, and
three terms in the state Legislature. He had served as town clerk,
and selectman and in addition to
holding the position of fire chief
for 25 years, was also fire warden
for this section at the time of his
death.
The survivors are three daughters, Elizabeth F., and Catherine T.
Kennedy and Mrs. Mary Connelly, all of Newmarket; and two
nephews, Thomas J. Connelly of
Newmarket a'id William T. Kennedy of Exeter.

widow of Bela Kingman and owner of Kingman's Rexall Store
here, died al her home Saturday
after a Song illness.
Born in Durham Point, June 7,
1.876, she %vas the daughter of the
late James D. and Emma (Perkins) Meader and hid resided in
Nevanarlxt since 1898.
Mrs. Kingman had been a member of the Community Church
here since its organization In 1898
and was a deaconess emeritus of
the church. She formerly served
as secretary of the Congregational Society for many years.
Survivors inelude a daughter,
Mrs. John W. Guyer of Kenmore,
N.Y.; a son, Bradford M. King
man of Durham; a sister, Mrs.
James W. Carney of Hyde Park,

Rosanna Knight
Rosanna Knight, 93, died
Friday morning at the Hobbs
Nursing Home in North
Hampton, after a long illness.
.,he was the widow of James
Knight and a former resident of
Newmarket.
Mrs. Knight was the daughter
of the late Joseph and Sarah
(Bardman) Newton. She was a
member of the Newmarket
Community Church and a
former member of the Daughters
of the American Revolution,
Granite Chapter, Newfields.
She is survived by two
granddaughters, Mrs. William
(Christine) Beals of Newington,
and Mrs. John Costello of
Tyngsboro, Mass.; one sister,
Mrs. Katherine Shepley of
Dover. Also two great, great
granddaughters and two great,
great great granddaughters.
Funeral services were held
Sunday afternoon at the Brisson
and Kent Funeral Home. Burial
will be in the spring in Riverside
Cemetery, Newmarket.
Miss Catherine Kennedy
NEWMARKET— Miss
Catherine Genevieve Kennedy, 86, a lifelong resident
here, died Triesday at a
Hampton convalescent home
after a long illness.
She was a communicant of
St. Mary Church. elftoMembers of the family include two nephews, Thomas
J. Connelly of Rye Beach and
William T. Kennedy of Exeter.
The funeral will be held
Saturday at 8 a. m. from the
Brisson and Kent Funeral
Home followed at 9 by a
