PRESENTATION
Social Entrepreneurship Immersion Spanish (hereinafter SEIP) is the program that
incubates and accelerates social entrepreneurs carry out by El Hueco. It's addressed to
all those who have a newly established idea or company whose aims to solve a social
and / or environmental problem. It will be made in a suitable way and addressed to
people who wish to develop their venture in Spain or Latin America.
This action is part of the Social Entrepreurship finance tools and support in Europe Project
(VP/2014/0433), co-financed by DG Employment, Social Affairs & Inclussion of the
European Commission.
The SEIP program will help entrepreneurs to be immersed for three months in an
ecosystem that encourages social entrepreneurship in Spanish-speaking countries.
Definitely, it will help them to succeed in their endeavors.

WHY IN EL HUECO?
El Hueco is an initiative of the NGDO Cives Mundi, a Spanish non-profit organization,
with over 25 years of experience in international development cooperation. During that
time it has implemented projects in 20 countries in Africa, Asia, America and Europe
(see www.civesmundi.es)
As a result of this work, Cives Mundi has established collaborative agreements with local
entities (universities, NGOs, public and private entities) dedicated to promote development
in different countries of the South where it works, as well as with other institutions of
the EU countries (see http://www.civesmundi.es/esp/contrapartes.php)
These alliances, together with the know-how of generation of sustainable development
accumulated for over two decades of work by Cives Mundi, they are the fundamental
basis of social entrepreneurs who want to be developed in Spain and / or Latin America.
The objective of El Hueco is to encourage an attractive ecosystem for entrepreneurial
talent: open, competitive and attractive to businesses and entrepreneurs. It generates
quality employment opportunities and an economic, social, responsible and sustainable
development for the implementation and development of business initiatives.

WHY IN SORIA?
The SEIP program is developed in Soria, a small Spanish town that, due to its characteristics
it's ideal for stimulating entrepreneurial initiatives. Just two hours away from Madrid,
Soria is a very comfortable city, with reasonably affordable prices, without transport
problems or pollution and with an intense cultural activity.

Soria is the third Spanish city in the ranking of quality of life and is the capital of a province
with the highest life expectancy rates in Spain. The Province of Soria is known for its
natural values and for the disposition of a rural environment with a significant potential
for endeavor.

SEIP PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
A Social Business Plan based on actual initiatives, with short-term application and
execution, will be provided to the entrepreneur at the end of the program.
Establishing relationships and transferring knowledge between Europe and Latin America
in the field of social entrepreneurship.
Effective linguistic immersion in Castilian for social entrepreneurs, due that the full
program is taught in Spanish (with the possibility of resolving doubts in other languages).
Multinational and multidisciplinary teams consolidation within an entrepreneurial
community.
Creating an attraction of financing focus in terms of social entrepreneurship.
Unlocking the value of rural area in general as a suitable testing field for social and green
pilot projects based on real economy and social responsibility.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Social entrepreneurs from all over the world, especially interested in undertaking in Spain
and/or Latin America who satisfy the following conditions:
Having more than 18 years.
Full availability to travel and be dedicated full time to the project.
Minimum knowledge of Spanish: Level B1
Having in course an idea or project of social and/or green undertaking.
LEVEL OF COMMITMENT
To participate in SEIP program your project must be a priority for you. It is essential that
you will have availability and you will be committed to spend all your time during the 3
months that the program lasts, in order to participate actively in all SEIP planned activities
and collaborate with other participating entrepreneurs, sharing your experiences with
them.

WHICH TYPES OF UNDERTAKING DO WE SUPPORT?
SEIP program supports social undertakings since its beginnings, when they only are an
idea, until 2 years after their entry into the program.
Three categories of undertakings are distinguished, depending on the phase in which
they are:
a. Idea (incubation). The social entrepreneur has identified a social or environmental
problem and knows how to solve it. He doesn't have a business plan and the business
model might not be defined.
b. Launching (acceleration). The social entrepreneur has a clear business model and has
developed its business plan. He has not yet established his business or has done it
recently.
c. Expansion (internationalization). The social entrepreneur has launched a undertaking
and wants to expand it (internationalize) in Spain and/or Latin America.

TRAINING.- You will follow a program of classroom training, in a very small group (max.
10 students), divided into 11 sessions, where you can explore different strategic lines,
define your business model, learn how to talk to investors... At the end of the incubation
process you've been able to develop your own business plan or your company growth!
TUTORING.- You will have specialized mentors in different areas: social action, new
technologies, business, communication, finances, environment, leadership, R & D, etc.
MENTORING.- A mentor or "big brother" will be assigned to you. He will accompany you
and will be your reference person throughout all the incubation.
COMMUNITY.- You will be part of the community of El Hueco entrepreneurs and you
will receive the support of all its members.
VISIBILITY.- We will focus our communication efforts to give visibility to all the incubated
projects.

NETWORKING.- We will provide you access and contact to all members of El Hueco
ecosystem that are interesting for you. We will hold special networking events for our
entrepreneurs. We will visit social entrepreneur communities in different places of Spain
and we will go to social enterprises and institutions.
You will end the program with the best contact book to launch your social undertaking!
ROUND OF INVESTORS.- You will participate in a round of investors organized by El
Hueco.
FINANCING.- When you seek funding, mentors will advise and accompany you.
WORKSPACE.- You will have a workspace in the coworking area of El Hueco, so you can
work in a creative environment where you would find everything you need.
LODGING AND UPKEEP.- We will be in charge of, if you wish, managing your
accommodation in shared housing with other entrepreneurs like you during the 3 months
that lasts the incubation process in order to don't waste a minute of networking.
We also have also at your disposal a service of variety and healthy menus at an affordable
price.

SPANISH IMPROVEMENT.- Optionally SEIP provides you access to one of the most
prestigious centers of Spanish learning for foreigners in our country, so you could improve
your Spanish during the 3 months of your stay in Soria.

VOLUNTEERING.- Furthermore, the program offers you the possibility of volunteering
in your free time in NGOs and social enterprises, in this way your immersion in the social
sector is total.
INTERNSHIPS.- Those entrepreneurs who want to continue their training process when
the program in Spain has been completed, SEIP offers the possibility of internships in
the field in different countries of Latin America, in social enterprises as well as NGOs
and other third sector organizations. Haiti, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Ecuador,
Peru, Paraguay, Argentina... Tell us your preference and we will design with you your
customized internship.

SEIP program will run from April 6 to June 18, 2015.

DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME
The program is intensive and will be developed over 11 weeks, during that time the
following areas will be addressed:
Training in terms of Social Business Plan.
Expert mentoring in social undertaking, ecological undertaking, business and finances,
creativity, innovation, leadership, etc.
Case studies of real social undertaking in Spain and good practices at international level.
Events with all the undertaking community of El Hueco.
Full-time coworking space in El Hueco.

OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES
Voluntary work in social enterprises and institutions.
SEIP program offers the possibility of continue the training process with internships in
the field in Latin America, it will be in undertaking projects as well as social functions.
Tell us your preference and we will design with you your customized internship.
Housing service in shared flats.
Upkeep with variety and healthy menus in El Hueco Club Coffee.
Spanish retraining course in Antonio Machado International Center.

LODGING AND UPKEEP
We offer you the option of accommodation in a single room in shared apartment in Soria
during the 3-month program for a total price of 600 euros.
If you want another place to stay, don't hesitate to contact us.
We also have also at your disposal a service of variety and healthy menus in El Hueco
Club Coffee at the expense of 5 euros each menu.
SUBMISSION OF CANDIDANCIES AND ENROLMENT
Candidacies would be submitted from February 23 to March 30 by e-mail attaching the
form provided on the website.
Candidacies will be assessed by a team of experts from the community of El Hueco. It
will be resolved within a maximum of 72 hours. The acceptance in the program will be
notified by an email.
There are 20 places available that will be filled in strict order of receipt and validation.
