ORBEA’s ethos can be summed up in two concepts; modernity and respect for the customer. This is how we started
working in 1926, and is still the way we work today.
ORBEA controls all stages of the overall research and development, from the design process, through the
infinitesimal calculations, prototyping and trials to the detailed definition of each product. We closely regulate the
important parameters for final production. Once the product is on the market, we continually adapt future products
according to our end users’ perceptions’.
In the ORBEA design process, we have stringent testing mechanisms. We choose the right materials for each
requirement and we know how to transform them. Powerful design tools such as our “rapid prototyping” equipment
and our prototype workshop enable us to transform our designs into real products. Testing with final materials allows
us to optimise our products before going on to the production stage.
This requires the involvement of a multidisciplinary team of workers, all with very different points of view, working
together to achieve the same objective. From the creative design team who sketch new ideas, to the engineering,
quality and logistics teams, who transform these sketches into real products.

With cycling and
with cyclists
The first steps were taken with Luciano Montero, a great cyclist during the
1930s and two-time champion of Spain, followed by Julián Berrendero, alias “El
Negrero”, who was the first Spanish cyclist to win the “Vuelta de España” in
1941 and 1942.
We currently collaborate with three prestigious teams; Euskaltel – Pro Tour
squad, which needs no introduction, the Kaprin Galicia team from this province
and ORBEA Continental.

Finally ORBEA is closely linked to the best races on the world circuit, including the Tour de France,
as well as in other disciplines such as cyclo-crosse, velodrome, triathlon and BMX.
But it is in the Mountain Bike area where we have achieved our greatest sporting successes during
the team’s 15-year career. We have a number of world-level athletes in our ranks, including an Olympic
gold medal winner, as well as European champions and several Spanish champions.

The brand has also evolved in the Mountain Bike sector

A patented mechanism adjusts the traversal, geometry and progressivity of the suspension in the
Rallon and Evo models. The user can vary the rear traversal between 140 and 110mm, the
geometry by 2.5 degrees and progressivity of the system. All of this allows for adaptation to diverse
user preferences, different terrains and different types of outings.
The adjustments can be made in seconds without any tools.
Using a deceptively simple mechanism that weighs little, has rigid support and is extremely precise.
