frames are the result of hours and hours of
research with carbon fibre, a material so
sophisticated and complex that only very few
know how to manipulate it properly.
Even though we are building bikes with the
material of the future, carbon fibre, we still
believe firmly in the possibilities provided
by aluminium's excellent properties. Today
We have behind us more than 70 years of
history. In reality very few brands in the
industry can boast of growing and
improving over so many years. But we
know, that time does not stand still, and
this we continue to work day by day to
offer better bicycles.
In recent years Orbea has become as much a
dominator of carbon fibre and its application,
as it has been a great connoisseur of aluminum
and its innumerable alloys. The fruit of this

construction of custom sized frames.

Aerodynamic harmony in an ultralight frame.
When you are trying to go fast nothing is a
luxury. Keeping this in mind we designed our
new frame ORDU: a multi use frame for time
trailling and triathlon where speed is the
determining factor.
For it we have chosen the best carbon fibre
on the market, the same material that was
originally concieved for Formula One cars
and which Orbea has now adapted for its
bicycles. 75% of the frame has been
manufactured in this M30 type carbon
fibre. Its mechanical properties are inarguably
reaching levels of stiffness and lightness that
up until now have been unthinkable.
In respect of the materials like aluminium and
other types of carbon they achieve an
improvement of 30%.
But not only does it use the best material.
Even more, we have turned to sophisticated
calculus programs and numerous tests to
determine the best layout of the carbon fibre
sheets and to achieve a design that allows
the optimum aerodynamic penetration.

Together with the selection of super stiff
materials, the design of its tubes and the
zone were the seat tube, rear stays and top
tube join both contribute to create an
optimun rigididity that translates into an
excellent stiffness and for sure, just plain
riding efficiency.

High technology, an exquisite selection of materials, comfort, and a totally
different aesthetics describe this frame with a captivating personality.
Orca is an ultra light frame, that combines high resistance fibres (stiffness) and
a high elasic module (comfort), reaching an optimum equilibrium of mechanical
properties and durability in terms of fatigue resistance.
The composition and orientation of the T700S carbon fibre has been
redesigned and optimised to increase pedalling efficiency by 20%. The
increased lateral stiffness of the frame has been possible with losing an ounce
of the comfort that characterises this frame, it in fact it adds to it.That is why
it deserved the prize of bike of the year in Spain and France.

Its careful functional design maintains an excellent vertical stiffness, synonomous
with comfort, thanks to its vibration absorbtion capacity, and which grants to
the bike a comprehensive aesthetic style in the joins of the tubes.

The experience acquired in recent years with composites like carbon fibre today
allows us to present a wider range of carbon frames, each with their own mark
of exclusivity and personality. Amongst these the OPAL personifies
competition in its pure state.
Designed for high level competition and maximum pedalling efficiency it shares
the monocoque manufacturing technology of other Orbea frames. Monocoque
technology has demonstrated with its growth that it is suitable to manufacture
highly durable and fatigue resistant frames, without the type of deterioration in
comparison to other available technologies.
The selection of materials and the tube design has been directed in search of
the maximum pedalling stiffness. Integrally constructed in high module M30
carbon fibre it increases by 20% stiffness in respect of other frames, without
any increse in weight.
The 45 degree orientation of the exterior carbon fibre sheets produces a
modern and attractive style, something that contributes without doubt to
guarentee a lateral structural stiffness capable of responding to the needs of the
most demanding bike racer.
The frame transforms all of the pedalling force and converts it into immediate
acceleration.

Carbon fibre is the elite of materials. Its high mechanical performance makes it
a frame material of luxury and glamour. In Orbea we have been concerned
to develop new materials that are foussed upon the ends of those that do
not seek high level competition, but without renouncing carbon's excellent
properties.
The ONIX frame is a faithful refelection of this philosophy. In its structure it
shares part fo the DNA of the ORCA, like its monocoque construction,
sculptured tube shapes, stiffness and handpainted finish. All of this gives the
frame a personality sufficient to establish it a a leader in a market overflowing
with carbon frames. Harmonious shaping, style and carbon fibre of the highest
performance, together with new elaborate and daring paint finishes that give
a new riding experience.

Why climb up when it is easy to go down? At Orbea we can give you one
good reason: the ARIN. Yes, we have designed a alluminium frame that weighs
only 920 g.
The key has been the development of a new control tension technology (TCT)
that permits reduced spacing in the frame tubes. A reduction up to a point that
was never before event hought of.
The integration of the tubing profile by Orbea's R&D Department in collaboration
with Columbus applies sophisticated finite element calculus programs. For each
tube a profile and spacing has been developed to function to take the strain that
each pedal stroke places on the frame. The result has been a tube sculpture
comprised of different poligonal profiles that increases by more than its 15% the
lateral stiffness in relation to other carbon and aluminium frames.
The 34.9 mm diameter seat tube improves more than 5% the stiffness of the
pedalling torque.
Strength in the hardest of competitions, such as the Tour de France, is not
intended to be without some measure of comfort, and to this end our frame
engineers have developed the vibration absorbtion comfort conept to achieve the
highest standrads in quality aluminium.
Its polished welds - something indispensable in such frames of reduced weight
and its hand aerographed finish, confer on it a sobriety and elegance that is in
perfect symbiosis with the most modern technology.
All of this whilst maintaining our characteristic geometry, giving it its great
cornering manourevability and a high head tube that favours an erect and relaxed
ergonomic posture.

Still the hallowed frame of the Orbea higher range. We use triple butted 6000
alloy, subjected to our thermic solubalisation treatment, to construct its extremely
robust tubes.
Carbon fibre is used in the manufacture of the rear triangle, providing an
improvement of more than 30% in vibration absorbtion. The diameter of the
seat tube has been increased to 34.9 mm, increasing the pedalling torque
stiffness of the frame by more than 5%.
The polished welds joining the harmonious tubes offer a sober and elegant frame.
The carefully finished frame and artowrk highlight the tube shapes and sizes,
creating a new sensation when you ride.

The AQUA was born with an essence of ARIN, but with the force of
hydroforming.
A frame with shapes and sizes of its own, a vanguard design that confers on this
frame a personality of its own. The shapes and sizes are made possible thanks to
one of the most innovative tube manufacturing technologies: hydroforming. The
particular design of the tubes is molded through the control of water pressure.
Up until today Orbea remains the only provider in the market of high end frames
and continues to advance new and vanguard designs for those that don't make
a profession out of cycling.
To the scupltured shapes obtained with the force of water we have added a
precious finish, with optimum mechanical performance and reduced weight.

The profile of the integrally designed tubes in Orbea have increased more than
15% the lateral stiffness of the frame. The 34.9 mm seat tube considerably
improves the pedalling torsional stiffness. The carbon rear triangle also contributes
to making this a very light and comfortable frame, thanks to the improved
vibration absorbtion.

We are not only focussed on developing products for a fixed
use, but we also want to develop a concept of use that
functions with the needs and ends of each person.
A a result of this we have introduced to our range of bicycles,
the Touring family. A bike concept that finds their reason to
be in their comfort and their relaxed ride.
Many people want a ride with racing characteristics - a light
frame, a road geometrey, 700 c wheels, and a road groupo
- but at the same time they want a comforatble and relaxed
position.
The principal barrier to achieving this combination in a bike has
been the traditional racing handlebar that forces the rider into
a competition like position, one that is certainly more
demanding and less comfortable than it need be.
For all of those that identify with this more relaxed style, we
dedicate three road bike models with a straight handlebar and
an adjustable stem.
For sure we are letting everyone who doesn't need the
demanding racing position, to get on a bike, which fulfills their
intention of enjoying it, in a manner that is healthy, thanks to
an erect seat position.

The Rallon EVO is a new frame. Based
upon the Rallon 2003 we have kept the
best ... the Fit-Fast system and the Enduro
geometry, and then to top it off, we have
pulled a few new aces from our sleeve.
We have refitted the principal pivot point
with a new giro system in the Fit-Fast
points, basically totally redesigned, new
forged cranks, changes to the independent
geometry, and a reinforced and lightened
front triangle thanks to it conical tubes.

season the Rallon is 250 grams lighter,
stiffer, and with a still even finer functioning
that maintains the adjustable travel of FitFast. And there are many more details that

tourists has played an important role. The challenges put in
front of both the person and the machine are enourmous. The

pedal system, the ergonomic molded handlebars allowing

They are bikes for recreational use, good for a
ride in the park or on the bike path, or good
to take way to the beach for holidays. They
are designed primariliy for comfort and saftey.
It is essential that these types of bikes seek to
obtain maximum comfort by allowing an erect
positon on the bike with has the spine
practically vertical. These charactersitics are
obtained in the design of the frame
geometrey. Shorter to reduce the distance
between seat and handlebar, a higher head
tube to alow the handlebar to be set high and
a shorter seat tube to obtain easier handling.
Thanks to this geometry you are assured that
the spine is practically vertical, the arms are
kept stretched out in a high position above our
waist and the height of the seat is adequate to
maintain good stabilty. And if this is not
enough, we have equipped these bikes with
an adjustable stem that permits the perfect
adjustment of the handlebar positon. The fork
and the suspension seat post, like the seat are
strengths of its comfort, the others the elements
that also contribute to make the Ravel an
exceedingly comfortable bicycle.

From the beginning of time man has aspired to cross their peaks, and his desire has turned these mountain passes into a universally known stage.
