PROVIDING TOTAL FILTRATION SOLUTION
FOREWORD FROM
THE MANAGING DIRECTOR
This being our first step in issuing
our inaugural Bulletin/Newsletter has
marked a path for Salutary Avenue in
venturing into a greater dimension and
forging and enhancing a stronger and
more dynamic relationship with our
customers, agents, affiliates and within
the group itself.
With the vision of the company to
emerge as one of the leading filtration
solution provider in the world, I truly
believe that this bulletin will serve as
a vital instrument in communicating
and spreading news and information
pertaining to product and company
development.
However, we need to differentiate
between MAF products Brand with
those which have already been in
the markets for over 30 years. Our
products have been here, in the
domestic markets as well as in some
Asian’s countries for just over 10
years.
Malaysian Filters (MAF) products’
qualities are comparable to world
standards and specifications and
complied with the requirements
of most of the well known gas
turbines’ makers in the world. We
understand the local and most
Asian countries weather/climate
wet and dry seasons are uncertain,
etc. Based on these concepts we
have designed and manufactured
our products to suit the environmental conditions so that power generations
are able to perform efficiently throughout the year round.
Salutary Avenue must take cognizance of what had happened and could not
afford to remain in its comfort zone. We must improve our competitive edge,
qualities and productivities.
To those who have not yet use MAF products................
If you fear of using Malaysian owned products, how do you expect One
Malaysia concept to progress! .
ABUNAIM MOHAMAD.

MAF NanoTec MEDIA
MAF FILTER WITH NanoTec MEDIA
MAF NanoTec media technology provides a micro porous
structure with unparalleled process control and durability.
MAF MAF NanoTec media technology consists of a “web”
of submicron diameter fibers bonded to a substrate of
MAF filter media.
This new generation nanofiber coating technology
significantly improves media’s ability to collect dust
particles on its surface, and minimize the number of
particles that penetrate into its depth.
Excellent For Your GT’s
MAF NanoTec filter media is designed to meet the
challenging demand of OE applications in gas turbine/
dust collection OE applications. As the innovative filtration
leader, MAF filters sets the standard for efficiency and
extended life.
Durable, High Efficiency
MAF NanoTec air filters features the nanofiber layer on
both sides of the substrate filter media. Thanks to this
unique design, initial filter efficiency is improved. For
urban and industrial locations with high concentration of
particles below one micron in size, MAF NanoTec offers
best turbine protection against fouling.
Improved Efficiency
The brand new MAF NanoTec filter media offers
significantly improved fractional efficiency over untreated
substrates (97% versus 90%) when tested against AC fine
test dust.
When tested with 0.3 to 0.4 micron of NaCl particles,
which are similar to soot, nanofiber coated media has
60% fractional efficiency as compared to 20% with
standard untreated media. In gas turbine/dust collector
applications
Extended Life
Not only does nanofiber coating greatly improve equipment
protection, it also extends filter life and service intervals.
When tested with NaCl particles (soot), MAF NanoTec
filter media coated with nanofiber offers a fourfold increase
in filter life.

Kerteh,
Keeping in line with SA’s new business thrust, the company has
successfully completed 8 units on the fabrication, installation and
testing and commissioning of the Solar MARS 90 8MW air intake
filtration system for Petronas Gas Berhad (PGB) Kerteh, Terengganu
for the onshore area. There are also several offshore projects that
had been completed to improve the existing system which is not
suitable for the current environment in Malaysia. By introducing
our patented MAF weather louvers, we are able to protect the
current filtration system from the salt water ingression inside the
filter house that will damage the turbine blades. The completed
offshore improvement systems are at Bekok A platform, Guntong
A platform, Tapis A platform and several others.
During the last twelve months alone, the
company has garnered projects worth
more than RM10 million
For the last twelve months alone, the company have been actively
involved in projects with several other customers including
provision of Erb West gas Turbine air intake system improvement
for Petronas Carigali-Sabah Operation (PCSB-SBO), upgrading of
gas turbine combustion air intake and exhaust gas ducting material
at Export Terminal, Telok Kalong, Terengganu and retrofitting on
inlet gas turbine filter housing at GPP2 Complex A. The company
has recently completed a project with Petronas Carigali (PCSB) to
upgrade its air intake system by installing MAF weather louvers.
New and improved stainless steel filtration
system at GPP A, Kerteh, Terengganu.
The patented MAF weather louvers have also been successfully
installed at TNB Pasir Gudang for the ABB air intake system and
as for today, they did not have any unplanned shutdown during the
monsoon season. For the overseas markets, we are in collaboration
with Japan Vietnam Petroleum Co. Limited, one of the leading
oil & gas company in Vietnam to improve their existing filtration
system commencing in July 2009. Currently we are also in the
midst of discussion with the TNB Power Generation in providing
the filtration system for their new power generation plant.

SA SOCIAL CONTRIBUTION
Despite the economic downturn which is gripping the whole
world today, SA is still able to exercise its duty towards society.
As part of SA’s effort in strengthening its contribution towards
society at large, SA has embarked in 2 major contributions
recently which is a programme called School Pocket Money to
two schools in Kota Puteri namely Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri
Kota Puteri and Sekolah Menengah Kota Puteri. The School
Pocket Money program was also extended to two recipients
who are children of our staffs as a gesture of appreciation of
their academic excellence.
According to Pn Hasmah Ismail, the school
headmistress;
“This is the first financial contribution made to the
school in its 11 years history and we are very proud
that a Bumiputra company is doing this charitable
act during the time in need”
SA BIDS FAREWELL TO
ITS LONG SERVICE STAFF
A farewell ceremony was held to one of our staff from the Metal
Department, En Ismail Suib on 27 February 2009. Interestingly, the
farewell coincides with En Ismail’s 55th birthday which was celebrated
in a joyous mood by all the staffs at Bayu office.
En Ismail started at SA in 2000 as an operator and was soon promoted
to become a line leader within the same year.
Over the years this father of 5 girls has reached the position of
assistant senior machinist until his last day in SA.

and has great initiative in gaining
as much knowledge as possible.
I believe that with his right set of
attitude coupled with this experience,
he will be able to gel well with the society when he join
the work force.
