We continue to strengthen our position in the fashion industry
every day, and this year we will be attending the world renowned
WHO’S NEXT show as ‘guest of honour’.
We view this distinctive invitation, to one of the most important
events for the fashion sector, as a clear indication of the development
and the success of the Turkish ready-to-wear industry.
Distinguishing ourselves from our competitors by the high level of
design, production and service that we have achieved, our sector has
seen an annual export of 17.4 billion dollars, a figure set to increase
to 20 billion dollars in the near future.
It would not be wrong to say that the winds are blowing in favour
of Turkey: our existing classic customers, as well as the new markets
which we have entered, both herald future prosperity for the Turkish
ready-to-wear industry.
As IHKIB, we will be putting our signature on a variety of events that
have been designed to promote the brand ‘Turkey’ at Who’s Next. By
participating in diverse events, such as our Istanbul Store, we hope to
raise awareness of Turkish creativity, and of our country’s tastes and
images: from the Grand Bazaar to Turkish cuisine, music to tea bag
designs, and of course, Turkish delight.
In addition, our brands and designers have come together as
part of a programme that aims to develop the promotion of, and
international competition within, the international ready-to-wear
sector, its designs and its trends. They will be exhibiting a preview of
their capsule collections at WHO’S NEXT, under the collective title of
‘Istanbul Apparel & Design Cluster”.
We are convinced that our efforts will deliver positive results,
success for Turkish fashion!

Gül Ağis, the designer of LUG VON SIGA, mixes
different ethnic patterns in feminine clothes with
modern and understated cuts. This collection has
now been exhibited within the FAME area of WHO’S
NEXT for several seasons in order to develop the
presence of the label on the international scene.
What is unique about ‘Lug Von Siga’?
I make reference to my own culture and heritage in
every collection that I create, and so they always
include embroidery, prints, detail and ethnic
references. I love mixing old and new to create
something totally new.
What are you currently working on? I continue to work on the collection for spring/
summer 2015, as well as that of autumn/winter 201516, which will be presented for the first time in a
catwalk show during Mercedes Benz Berlin fashion
week...
What do you hope to achieve by participating in

Nejla Güvenç, designer of the brand
NEJ, wishes her creations to provide
an education on environmentalism.
She constantly strives to find the best,
and most beautiful, materials possible,
uses natural fibres, and mixes new and
vintage textiles to produce unique and
original pieces. In 2010, the designer was
counted amongst the Turkish selection
of the “10,000 Women” partnership,
which was launched by Goldman Sachs,
Harvard University and Pennsylvania
University to support of the world’s
female entrepreneurs. Nejla Güvenç
is also a board member of the Turkish
Ready-to-wear Federation, as well as the

Born in Istanbul, Özlem Kaya went on to
study at Mimar Sinan University. She met
Hakan Yildirim whilst still a student,
and began her career at his side. For
six years, she prepared collections and
took charge of client relations and
participation in design trade shows.
In 2004, Özlem Kaya created her own
workshop, where she continues to
