DISCOVER THE WORLD OF CHUGGINGTON
Chuggington is a contemporary, action based, energetic
and vibrant series for children aged 2 – 4 years.
The series follows the humorous adventures of three
young trainees – Wilson, Brewster and Koko – as they
learn to ride the rails. Each traintastic episode engages
boys and girls alike, teaching simple yet important social
readiness lessons – from learning confidence, patience,
independence and responsibility, to understanding the
value of teamwork and friendship.
With a strong community of engines and people to help
and support the trainees as they sharpen their skills,
Chuggington offers unlimited ACTION, ADVENTURE,
LAUGHTER AND LEARNING.
THE TRAINEES
ROUNDHOUSE
KOKO
BREWSTER
WILSON
“Chugga Chugga Choo Choo!”
A fearless, electric, streamlined
passenger trainee built for high
speed, who loves to explore and
have adventures. “Traintastic!”
“Honking Horns!” A solid
dependable diesel-electric trainee
built for hauling heavy loads.
Brewster is sensible and will often
run through a list in his head
before doing a task – “check!”
“Let’s ride the rails!” A lively
multifunction engine with
oodles of enthusiasm. Wilson
is a bit of a scattertrain whose
eagerness isn’t always matched
by his ability to pay attention to
instructions.
The roundhouse is where most
of the chuggers sleep. The older
chuggers: Olwin, Harrison and
Chatsworth sleep on the upper
level, except Old Puffer Pete who
sleeps on the lower level with
the trainees.
VEE
Vee is the warm voiced announcer
with the important role of keeping
Chuggington running on schedule.
She is contactable from every
platform and always on hand to help.
DEPOT
The depot is nestled in the heart
of the city. This vast complex
contains platforms, repair sheds,
roundhouses, and yards for
loading, fuelling and training.
There is also a clock tower that
the chuggers use to tell the time.
Vee usually gives the chuggers
their tasks in the depot
and assigns them a tunnel to go
down. Four different coloured
tunnels lead to every imaginable
destination beyond the city.
ACTION
CHUGGER
Action Chugger is a jet
propelled super-hero train.
Not only can he race along
the tracks at Chug-a-sonic
speed, but he can fly too!
He is always available for
any chugger in trouble: “I’m
number one. I’m helpful, I’m
strong. I get the job done”.
RIDE IN THEATRE
A big outdoor screen where
chuggers can watch movies
under the stars. Action
Chugger movies are often
premiered here.
IRVING
An adult chugger with a
perfectionist streak. He
is responsible for rubbish
collection and recycling and
can usually be found
in the Recycling
Yard. “Tipping…
tipping…
tipping”. Irving
likes things
to be orderly,
neat and tidy.
RECYCLING YARD
Hoot and Toot are trainee twin
shunting engines - each with
a very distinct personality,
which can sometimes lead to
disagreements - not to mention
brother and sister rivalry!
Toot (green) is the more
dominant of the pair. She’s
feisty, a little bit naughty and
confident and daring. Hoot (blue)
likes to follow the rules. He’s
calm, level headed and practical.
HOOT &
TOOT
Rubbish is brought to the
yard and tipped into a pit for
sorting. Recycling arrives in
colour-coded wagons. Glass,
plastic, and cans can all
be crushed in the crushing
machine. The trainees love to
help with this process.
ROLLING
STOCK YARD
This is where all the many different
types of rolling stock are stored.
A chugger can spin the large
turntable and connect up to one
of the different spokes of track to
couple up to the required wagon.
OLWIN
An older female steam engine who always runs
on schedule. She loves mothering her “Little
chug a chugs.” Her close friends are Chatsworth
and Old Puffer Pete. She loves punctuality and
good manners.
OLD PUFFER
PETE
“Rattling Rivets”. Steam train Old
Puffer Pete is the oldest chugger
in Chuggington at 150 years old.
He loves to “pull the youngsters’
pistons.” He particularly likes to
spend time in Old Town where
he grew up. He is great
friends with Olwin, Vee
and Speedy and
enjoys sharing his
wisdom with the
trainees.
REPAIR SHED
This is where mechanic
Morgan and his
assistant Lori make
repairs to the chuggers.
There is a chug scan, to
diagnose problems and
a rotator for turning a
chugger on his or her
side allowing inspection
of the undercarriage.
OLD TOWN
This is where Chuggington first
started. The town was built for the
steam age, so everything there is
steam powered. The Old Town is
now a bit of a ghost town, but the
trainees love to go exploring there
and hear tales of the old days from
Old Puffer Pete and Olwin.
MEET THE NEW
CHUGGERS!
SKYLAR
Skylar is a cool crane chugger fresh out of the
teacher-training academy. Good natured and
patient, he takes his teaching very seriously and
will stay up half the night prepping a lesson or
building something incredible for a demonstration’.
The trainees aspire to be like him. “It’s crane time let’s get to work!”
DECKA
Decka is a brightly coloured doubledecker tram with a big
personality. Full of attitude,
she says it like she sees
it! She mainly works in the
city. “Decka-lightful”.
PIPER
Piper is the youngest trainee –
a small, modern steam engine
who runs on vegetable oil. She
is cute and innocent - like a
little toddler finding her way in
the world and is still wobbly on
her wheels.
EMERY
“Chugger approaching!”
Emery is a rapid transport
chugger who zips all
over town. Emery has
two voices, a formal
‘announcer’s’ voice,
and his normal cheeky
voice. He goes back and
forth between the two,
sometimes in the same
sentence! He likes
being funny and his best
friends are Koko, Brewster
and Wilson.”This chugger is
ready to depart”.
MTAMBO
Mtambo is a tour guide train at the
Safari Park. He is very wise
and loves to impart
knowledge and
tell stories of his
adventures – the
trainees hang
on his every
word.”Big and
small, short
and tall. On my
journeys I have
seen them all!”.
SAFARI PARK
CITY
Beneath the modern, urban
skyline of the bustling city,
chuggers go about their work
picking up passengers and
making deliveries. The tracks
wrap around and go through the
high-rise buildings.
This huge open park is on the outskirts of the
city. It has tracks running all through it so that
people can take a tour with Mtambo and
see the animals. There are monkeys,
giraffes, elephants, rhinoceros,
exotic birds and lizards.
DUNBAR Speedy
TRAINING
YARD
Next door to the roundhouse is
the training yard, which is used by
the trainees to practice engine duties
- like switching tracks, braking at speed
and exercising control on bends.
“Let’s get those
wheels to the rails”.
A shunting engine
with a strong work
ethic, Dunbar is
chief trainer to the
young trainees.
Most likely to
be found in the
Training Yard,
he is Vee’s right
hand chugger.
He likes
discipline.
McAllister
Speedy McAllister is a
steam engine and a
friend of Old Puffer
Pete and Olwin.
He can appear
tough but
beneath his
gruff exterior,
he has a kind
under carriage.
Speedy is
the exact
opposite of
his name!
ICE CAVE
Deep in the base of
the mountains is a
spectacular ice cave
where chuggers can
cut down icicles with
an ice-harvesting
wagon.
CALLEY
Calley is the rescue and breakdown chugger.
“Breakdown Chugger coming throoough!”.
She’s like a big sister to the trainees. One of
her best friends is Dunbar. Calley ‘absotootly’
loves rescuing!
ZEPHIE
Zephie is a young scissor lift
trolley car who runs errands
and is most likely to be found in
the Repair Shed and around the
depot. She’s big enough to carry
two people. Zephie is excitable,
giggly, girly and fun.
Calley’s
rescue shed
A siren goes off when a chugger is in
trouble and Calley’s monitor tells her what’s
going on. With the nudge of a button, Calley
drops down to an underground chamber,
housing a set of service wagons such as a
refuelling car, fire service car, and a break
down rescue wagon.
Chatsworth
A hard working diesel engine with a nervous
disposition. His best friends are Harrison and
Olwin. Chatsworth likes things to be peaceful
and doesn’t like
anything upsetting
his routine. He
is often heard
saying “Ohh, I
think I’m going
to overheat”.
THE QUARRY
Located on the mountain, this is where
stone is mined. The rock is then carried up
in wagons, through the steep tunnels, to the quarry
platform for dispatch.
HARRISON
A multifunction engine,
smooth as silk and considered
to be the fastest chugger
in Chuggington. He
likes being admired
and being the centre
of attention. “I’m
looking good”.
BORDER BRIDGE
This is a huge stone bridge that spans a rocky
ravine on the border of Chuggington. It is traditional
for a newly elected Mayor to enter Chuggington via the
bridge in a ceremonial carriage.
Hodge
A chugger pick-up truck
with a “seen it all” attitude.
Hodge is made of spare
parts (hence his name).
He knows lots of interesting
facts about Chuggington.
He likes collecting objects
and trivia.
FROSTINI
“Magnifico!” Frostini is the slick ice cream chugger
usually found inventing new gourmet flavours
in his Ice Cream Factory. Glamorous and
outgoing, he is a real showman,
and has his sales banter
down pat. Everyone
loves ‘The Great
Frostini!’
He loves
creating taste
sensations
and dislikes
imperfection.
FOUNDRY
Metal is melted down
and cast into things
like wheels, axles and track
sections. The process is mostly
automated and chuggers can
watch the metal being poured,
shaped and hammered from
behind viewing windows.
ICE CREAM FACTORY
This is on the outskirts of Chuggington
and has lots of rooms within it for mixing,
freezing and labelling. It’s a brightly coloured,
whimsical place!
