MAIN ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Marila Velloso graduated in Dance in 1983 and from then on has been working as dancer and
dance creator, interpreter, choreographer, researcher and producer. Co-founder with Cinthia
Kunifas of the Companhia da Cidade (City Company) in 1996, which changed its name to Luzzo
Fluidans under the direction of the dancer and choreographer Sávio de Luna. In 2002 created
a dance producing company named Emovimento.
From 1996 on has been developing reflections on art, dance policy and academic issues addressed to improving the Dance area in the city of Curitiba and in the State of Paraná. Some
examples of her actions: co-elaborated and produced the 2010 Dance National Seminar, the
2009 Dance National Symposium, and the Body New Dramaturgy Meeting- 2010/2013, among
others. Concerning policies for the sector, she co-created the Curitiba Dance Forum and participated in the Movement Pro-Paraná Culture State Counsel. She also represents, until 2015, the
Cultural Police National Counsel and Dance Sector Collegiate nationally and the Management
Commission of Dance South American Net internationally.
Other accomplishments include teaching in the FAP/UNESPAR Dance Courses and Coordinating
three dance specialization courses in the Dance Research Group, researches on Dance Cultural
Policies and civil organizations, besides practical and theoretical researches on the interaction
between Somatic Education and Dance and investigative contemporary dance (articles on the

ow may exploring movements, that are part of different body systems, such as organs, glands, skeleton etc., stimulate body spatial explorations, mobility and refined
understanding of what we feel and what is materialized through small dance com-
positions? The workshop aims at contributing to dance by showing body and movement
exploration strategies through the sensations of what we mobilize and the power of what we
can notice as dance composition structures.

T
he workshop aims at knowing and experiencing the Body-Mind Centering Somatic
approach methodologies: recognizing and experiencing the corporal system characteristics and principles (skeleton, organs, glands, senses, perception, basic cell and
neurologic patterns, among others) aiming at planning and developing dance practices.
Objective: Learning the means and supports provided by our different body systems through
the BMC Somatic approach towards structuring corporal experiences and/or dance classes
addressed to movement and creation exploration.
Who it is addressed to: people interested in body movement and composition through improvisation.
Observation: we may provide other workshops specifically focusing on understanding body,
movement, dance and specific body systems, as well as cultural policies in Brazil and political activism in the art segment, according to demand and motivation.
