Spring has arrived, and the flowing contours of the Swartland region has been transformed into a lush green landscape of budding vineyards,
with fervent preparations underway for the new harvest season. October is known as the most beautiful month in the winelands for good
reason, and it is the perfect time to visit Swartland Winery to replenish your wine stock and to taste our new offerings.
IMPRESSIVE MEDAL HAUL
Swartland Winery's trophy cabinet is overflowing with new additions after stellar
performances at recent wine shows. We were awarded a sought-after double
gold (grand d'or) medal at the Michelangelo International Wine Awards for the
Bush Vine Cabernet Sauvignon 2010, as well as two gold and five silver medals.
The Michelangelo Awards is widely regarded as one of South Africa's most
authoritative wine competitions and entered wines are annually scrutinized by a
large panel of esteemed international judges.
2014 Michelangelo Awards
Two of our wines, the Swartland Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 and Swartland
Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot 2013, also received gold awards at the 2014
Gold Wine Awards, a competition aimed at identifying the best value wines on
the local market, thus guiding consumers in their purchasing decisions.
GOSPEL SKOUSPEL
Swartland Winery acted as official wine sponsor of the 2014 Gospel
Skouspel, presented in conjunction with Radio Tygerberg. This popular music
event, which features performances by the country's top artists, takes place
annually at the Grand West Arena and this year has been expanded to
include a show in Pretoria. Swartland is proud of our association with this
world class production that provides an excellent platform for Afrikaans
Christian music.

NEW WEBSITE
Our perennially popular range of dessert
wines has recently been expanded with
the release of the Swartland Red
Muscadel. Fans of the Hanepoot, Red
Jerepigo, White Jerepigo, Cape Ruby and
Cape Vintage products will enjoy this
fortified wine with its attractive light
pink tint and distinctive sun-ripened
muscat and berry flavours. Now
available at the cellar and leading wine
retailers countrywide.

SWARTLAND BUILDING BRAND IN EUROPE
Swartland is one of South Africa's most recognizable brands abroad and
the cellar already exports wine to 42 countries worldwide. Our marketing
manager, Pieter Terblanche, recently travelled to Europe to expand and
strengthen Swartland's trade relationships on the continent. Pieter's
destinations included the UK, Austria, Poland and Belgium where he
conducted various trade visits.
