OVERVIEW
Metal drywall beads and trims are
traditional reinforcement and finishing products used in gypsum wallboard construction. Metal beads and
trims provide crisp, clean and straight
protection for drywall corners. The
most common metal trim is drywall
corner bead. Corner bead is applied
to 90˚ exposed outside gypsum corners to provide a strong, durable,
straight, crisp finished corner.
Metal beads and trims are available in
a wide selection of products and sizes
to finish almost any drywall finish
condition. Metal beads and trims are
nailed, screwed, stapled or clinched in
place and finished with joint compound. They are low cost, easily
applied and provide high-quality, long

Overview
Styles & Types
120/135˚ Corner Bead, also referred to as Splayed or OffAngle Bead, provides a clean, crisp finished look at off-angle
wall intersections.
Bullnose Corner Bead is used to create a smooth, rounded look to standard drywall corners. Bullnose adds contemporary styling and a sense of openness to any room.
Corner and Transition Caps provide quick and efficient
solutions to finishing bullnose intersections or installation of
baseboard or crown moldings. This eliminates mitering,
gaps and caulking.
Clinch-On Products, Inc. – The name is synonymous
with premium, high-quality finishing beads and trims. These
products are recognized as premier metal corner reinforcements. Beads and trim manufactured by Clinch-On
Products, Inc. of Dover, Deleware are available in the
Midwest, South, Southeast, Northeast and Colorado under
the Clinch-On® trademark.
Metal Trims provide
maximum protection and
neat finished edges to
gypsum panels around
window and door openings. They also provide a
clean trim line at intersections or where gypsum panels abut dissimilar surfaces such as
columns and window
mullions.
Metal Trim 200-A is a U-shaped trim for use where the gypsum panel edge will be exposed. Installation of the 200
series trim is completed with joint compound for a smooth
ready-to-paint surface.
Metal Trim 200-B is an L-shaped trim and is especially useful where gypsum panels butt against another surface plane.
Installation of the 200 series trim is completed with joint
compound for a smooth, ready-to-paint surface.

The 103 Deluxe® brand is
recognized as the premier drywall corner bead
finishing trim product.
These beads may be

clinched into place and are completely concealed with joint
compound.
Metal J-Trim 400 Series is J-shaped, reveal-type galvanized
steel trim used for door or window openings. No finishing
with joint compound is required.
Mini-Bead™ 800 is a dual-purpose mesh corner bead suitable for one-coat veneer plaster or standard drywall systems.
It’s a galvanized steel outside corner reinforcement with 11⁄4"
wide fine mesh expanded flange tapered along outer edges
for improved finishing.

Bullnose
Hot-dipped bullnose corner bead manufactured by Clinch-On Products, Inc.
is used to create a smooth, rounded look to standard drywall corners.
Bullnose adds contemporary styling and a sense of openness to any room.
The hot-dipped finish provides superior corrosion resistance.
Gypsum board panels must be cut back 3/4" to accommodate the bullnose
radius and ensure a flush fit. Bullnose bead is nailed, screwed or stapled in
place and finished with joint compound.
Bullnose to 90˚ Transition Caps are available to provide a smooth transition
to baseboard or crown molding. They install quickly and easily and can be
used with metal, vinyl or paper-faced bullnose corner bead.

Bullnose
Hot-dipped 3/4" bullnose splayed manufactured by Clinch-On
Products, Inc. is a sturdy metal component used to create a
smooth, round transition at exposed open angled
intersections exceeding 120˚. A generous 3/4" flange
allows for nail, screw or adhesive attachments. Knurled and
perforated flanges provide effective joint compound
adhesion. The hot-dipped coating provides added
corrosion resistance and is commonly used in humid
regions. Splayed bullnose is also available with
electrogalvanized coating (CBBW ).

Dietrich™ metal J-trims are strong, reveal-type galvanized
steel casings that provide maximum protection and neat
finished edges to drywall terminations around door and
window openings. Metal J-trims also deliver a clean trim
line at intersections or where gypsum panels abut
dissimilar surfaces such as columns and window mullions.
Hemmed-edges allow for quick installation and do not
require joint compound for finishing.

U-Trim/Spackle J
Dietrich™ U-trim, or spackle J is used to provide maximum
protection and clean finished edges on gypsum panels around
door and window openings and when wallboard abuts
dissimilar surfaces, such as suspended ceilings, beams, plaster,
masonry and concrete. U-trim is easily installed by sliding trim
over the edge of the board and nailing or screwing through the
knurled (long) flange. Installation is completed with application
of joint compound for a smooth ready-to-paint surface.

L-Trim
Dietrich™ metal L-trim is used to provide a clean finished
edge at door and window openings or when wallboard
abuts dissimilar surfaces such as suspended ceilings,
beams, plaster, masonry and concrete. L-Trim is installed
after the gypsum panels are already in place, unlike
spackle J, which must be installed during gypsum panel
installation. L-trim is easily attached with screws or nails
after the panels are in place. Installation is completed with
joint compound for a smooth ready-to-paint surface.

093 Zinc Control Joint (ZNCJ)

093 Zinc Control Joint
Dietrich™ 093 Zinc control joint is applied between abutting
gypsum panels, and is used to relieve stresses of expansion
and contraction of drywall and veneer plaster systems in
large ceiling and wall expanses over 30' in length. 093 Zinc
Control Joint is typically installed from door header to
ceiling, from floor to ceiling in long partition runs, and from
wall to wall in large ceiling areas. Zinc control joints are
manufactured from high-quality pure zinc and can be used
for interior or exterior applications. The 1/4" by 7/16"
opening is protected by plastic tape, which is removed after
joint compound or plaster has been applied and the finish is
completed.
Note: Where fire and sound control are prime
considerations, an approved seal must be installed
behind the control joint.

recognized alternative.
Dietrich™ Mini-Bead™ 800 and 900 corner bead are galvanized
steel reinforcements for interior, outside corner, veneer or thin
wall plaster applications. 1-1/4" wide fine mesh expanded flanges
are tapered along the outer edges to enhance veneer plaster
concealment. Mini-Bead™ 800 corner bead has 1/16" grounds for
one-coat veneer plaster and 90 keys per linear foot for excellent
bonding and strong corners. Mini-Bead™ 900 corner bead has
3/32" grounds for two-coat veneer plaster systems. Zinc MiniBead™ 900 should be used in exterior finish systems. Flange
attachments can be accomplished by either nailing or stapling.
Note: Zinc Mini-Bead™ corner bead should be used in
exterior finish systems.
