Plans for Implementing Successful Custom Shade Matching on Aesthetic
Anterior Cases
All Dental professionals want to make natural aesthetic anterior cases, but we all struggle to perfectly
shade match. This is caused by different circumstances and situations, as well as a lack of tools
available for aesthetic custom shade matches.
Luke Kahng will share his successful strategic plan that will easily match the custom shades and
complete anterior aesthetic cases for the most natural shade matching available.
• You will learn in great detail how to match single central teeth step-by-step.
• You will be able to learn his “recipe” for successful lateral custom shade matching.
• You will understand completely cuspid color to create a balance to match patients’ shades with
adjacent teeth.

Luke S. Kahng, CDT is the owner of LSK121 Oral Prosthetics, a dental laboratory in Naperville,
Illinois. In addition to being a board member for several dental publications, he has published
more than 100 articles with major dental journals. He also lectures internationally, offering
hands-on seminars to dental technicians and clinicians alike.
The first and second editions of his highly successful Chairside Shade Selection Guide
were launched in 2009 and 2010, with international sales worldwide. The third edition, produced in
2012, encompasses the same concept but as a ceramic shade tab. He is the author of four hardback
books: Anatomy from Nature, The Esthetic Guide Book, Smile Selection + CS³ Clinical Cases and the
Kaleidoscope Wax-up Book.

Razmig (Raz) Tatoulian, RDT s’est joint à Zahn Canada en tant que spécialiste en haute
technologie pour le Canada francophone. Après avoir complété le programme de technicien
dentaire au collège Édouard-Montpetit en 1999, il a décidé de se spécialiser dans les
prothèses fixes, et a travaillé au sein de plusieurs laboratoires. Avant de se joindre à Zahn
Canada, Raz était le directeur d’un laboratoire dentaire estimé du Québec. Il a constamment
perfectionné ses talents en participant à de nombreuses conférences et séminaires partout
dans le monde. Raz est fier d’obtenir les meilleurs résultats en combinant l’utilisation de produits
supérieurs à ses connaissances. Il a collaboré dans plusieurs cas complexes avec des praticiens de
renommée. Raz a également agrandi ses connaissances et son expertise en dentisterie numérique grâce
à l’utilisation de la technologie au cours de sa carrière. Zahn Canada sait mettre à profit toutes ses

Esthetic Realities For Today and Tomorrow
What will separate us more then ever before in the years to come will be our talent level and ability
to understand the clinical/technical side of dentistry. This lecture will focus on the “Team Concept” of
restorative dentistry and the importance of the dental teams ability to effectively control the esthetic
outcome. Under the best of circumstances the transfer of information between the dentist and
technician for the fabrication of restorations is difficult and challenging. Our educated patients and
the advancement of materials has created a need for us to didactically move through the diagnostic
process including biomechanical, functionally, periodontal and esthetically. With the advent of newer
technologies such as photographic, video and cad cam, our role in the communication process will be a
value to the dental community.
Peter Pizzi, CDT, MDT, FNGS, as an educator of dental technology and operatory
procedures Peter has found an easy transition into the lecture/clinician circuit. His personal
appreciation and expertise on all phases of crown and bridge, porcelain, Implantology,
muscle function, mandibular physiology, Ceramics and photography have made him a
source of knowledge and motivation for his peers to draw from. Peter currently lectures
nationally and internationally to both technicians and dentists for the communication
process and a predictable outcome of success for the patient.

Redefining Treatment Options for the Edentulous Patient
In recent years there has been an increase demand for a more removable options for conventional
and implant dentistry. Today with the help of unique components and Cad Cam technology DENTSPLY
IMPLANTS has developed multiple options for clinicians and labs that allows them to offer high precision treatments with different protocols that caters to the Edentulous case. Step by step technique on
handling each case from start to finish .
Fadi Touma, RDT, CDT is a 1994 graduate of Ferris State University (Dental
Technology program). He worked in a prosthodontic specialty office from 1994 to
2001. In 2001, Mr. Touma started his own specialty laboratory focusing on full mouth
reconstruction, implants and cosmetic dentistry. He has extensive implant knowledge
and experience with most implant systems. Mr. Touma holds an American certification
in addition to his Canadian registration. He is currently the DENTSPLY Implants District Sales Manager
and Technical Advisor for the Eastern region of Canada.

Symbiosis: Art & Technique in Implant Dentistry
This presentation illustrates a systematic approach based on the technician’s expertise with principles
& techniques in order to obtain predictable results on challenging implant cases. Tissue management
criteria on the implant restoration, with a novel approach for noninvasive pontic site development, and
the importance of proper diagnosis, treatment planning, and communication is emphasized.
Domenico Cascione, CDT, BS obtained his primary education in Bari (Italy), where he
was also certified as a Dental Technologist (CDT) in 1985. He is a Master Ceramist
and also is specialized in metallurgy, implant work and complex esthetic rehabilitation.
From 2005 to 2008 he was Research Associate and Program Director, Advance Training
for Dental Technology at the Center for Dental Technology, the University Of Southern
California School Of Dentistry. Since 2009 he became an Adjunct Faculty as a Clinical
Assistant Professor at the University Of Southern California School Of Dentistry.

Individuality in the field of implant prosthetics: Is ceramic still the material of
the future?
Ceramic and Zirconium are often too hard for human tissue and serve no resilience in protecting the
body for long term use. Polymer, composite, and/or acrylics currently used as prosthetic dental materials
are too weak in strength, dissolve quite easily showing no restraint to colour changes, often can produce
a bad odor and are prone to bacteria adhesions.
In this presentation, the speaker demonstrates the concepts and materials used to achieve optimal patient
satisfaction. With Bredent Group’s innovative new system; Visio.lign the above mentioned weaknesses
and shortages will be overcome. The aesthetic options possible with new and modern materials, such
as modified composites, are demonstrated on the basis of fixed and removable restorations on implants.
The speaker poses the provocative question, “Does it always have to be ceramic?“
Ljepa Katanic, RTD, obtained her Dental Technology degree from George Brown College
in 2007. Upon her graduation she gained 5 years of experience in dental labs within
Ontario. Ljepa is currently providing technical and business support to Central Dental
Ltd focusing her vast knowledge of the Bredent product line after receiving hands-on
training both in Germany and from Peter T. Pontsa R.D.T. and former owner of Dent-Line
Of Canada Inc.

inégalée, une grande flexibilité et un prix à la portée de toutes les cliniques dentaires et de tous les
laboratoires dentaires. Eric présentera la rapidité de ce nouveau système, qui est en cours d’adoption par
l’industrie dentaire, ainsi que les changements de flux de travail numérique à prévoir dans le laboratoire.
Il discutera comment vous avec votre dentiste pouvez implanter cette nouvelle technologie qui bénéficiera
aux deux entreprises. Eric evoquera également l’évolution des différents matériaux de laboratoire utilisés
dans les technologies numériques et discutera leur utilisation optimale afin d’améliorer la consistance

Eric Clolus est le Directeur du Développement Commercial pour la division des soins
dentaires numérique et est avec 3M ESPE depuis cinq années. Avant de rejoindre 3M
ESPE, Eric était partenaire et gestionnaire dans un laboratoire dentaire. Eric a acquis ses
connaissances auprès de techniciens de laboratoires et de dentistes. Eric possède une
connaissance approfondie de l’industrie de laboratoire dentaire, des centres d’usinage
numériques et comprend aisément les flux de travail dans le laboratoire. Il participe
aussi a l’intégration et a l’implantation des systèmes CAO CFO dans les cabinets dentaires et les
laboratoires.
