All-Ceramics
What’s New? What’s Proven? Controversies
and Clinical Tips
Knowledge of the latest indirect dental materials is vital to maximizing the aesthetic and functional success of your team-created restorations. Dental materials are sometimes being brought
to market and being widely used in patients without adequate
science-based evidence. Dr. Adams will help you increase your
understanding of the most advanced materials with the goal of
making better-informed choices.
A basic knowledge of today’s all-ceramic materials is also a must
for today’s assistants and hygienists, allowing them to explain,
discuss, and support treatment plans presented to patients that
include the most proven advanced aesthetic options. This full-day
science-based presentation is recommended for doctors, chairside assistants, hygienists and dental technicians.

future challenges?
• New coping designs for HIP’d zirconia. Should our labs be slow
cooling, or fast cooling zirconia restorations? Myths versus
research!
• What are the best cements for all-ceramics available today?
The latest approaches to increase bond strength and decrease
microleakage. Curing challenges under ACs?
• An update on surface treatments for all-ceramics. Making it
much simpler!
• Treatment planning considerations for all-ceramics: opening
the doctor-technician channels
• Are all-ceramics always the best choice? What are some of the
best alternatives?
• The role of occlusion in the function and longevity of allceramics
• Ways to improve bite registrations for your dental lab team to
ensure better occlusal results

Periodontics & Implant Dentistry for the GP
Office: Make it Simple
Dental professionals are inundated with numerous publications
and as well with commercial salespersons. It is very difficult for
the private practitioner to do thorough research to differentiate
what are miracle materials or simply mighty marketing.
This seminar will highlight some of the current concepts in
Periodontics and Implant Dentistry and will address some of the
controversies that plague our industry.

Will CAD/CAM make you more money?
Digital advancement are taking place everyday. Now is the time
to explore whether in-house milling will make you money in your
lab. We will examine different milling machine options depending
on certain lab needs. We will also explore different material
options depending on your patient/dentists needs. Finally, we
will demonstrate how in-house milling can make your laboratory
profi table and at the same time keeping control of your quality.
Whether you are outsourcing or have not engaged in digital
options at all - you need to know your milling options!
Trish Scrimshaw, RDT, received her diploma
from the Dental Technology program at George
Brown College in Toronto. Following graduation, she
took a position as an in-house laboratory technician
within the prosthodontic practice of Prosthodontic
Associates quickly moving to the position of laboratory manager/
laboratory technician where she gained additional experience
working with various CAD programs. In 2009 she established
Cheshire Dental Studio, which provides localized laboratory
services specializing in implants, cosmetic and combination

Esthetic Realities For Today and Tomorrow
What will separate us more then ever before in the years to come
will be our talent level and ability to understand the clinical/
technical side of dentistry. This lecture will focus on the “Team
Concept” of restorative dentistry and the importance of the dental
teams ability to effectively control the esthetic outcome. Under
the best of circumstances the transfer of information between the
dentist and technician for the fabrication of restorations is diffi cult
and challenging. Our educated patients and the advancement of
materials has created a need for us to didactically move through
the diagnostic process including biomechanical, functionally,
periodontal and
esthetically. With the advent of newer technologies such as
photographic, video and cad cam, our role in the communication
process will be a value to the dental community.

Full Arch Zirconia Hybrids: Predictable
Results with GC Initial ZR-FS and GC Initial
Zirconia
Far too many variables (heat rate, holding time, cracking, cooling)
hinder the fabrication of full arch zirconia hybrids. Add to that the
fact that we have no set formula to follow during fabrication we have become accustomed to following a standard formula
when fabricating single crowns and small span bridges (how to
grind, how to steam, what temperatures, cooling, etc.). With full
arch zirconia hybrids, technicians must rely on past experience,
intuition and logic to achieve the sought after outcome for a case.
This presentation will show you how to achieve predictable results
with GC Initial ZR-FS and GC Initial Zirconia during the fabrication
of full arch zirconia hybrids.

Individuality in the field of implant
prosthetics: Is ceramic still the material of
the future?
Ceramic and Zirconium are often too hard for human tissue and
serve no resilience in protecting the body for long term use.
Polymer, composite, and/or acrylics currently used as prosthetic
dental materials are too weak in strength, dissolve quite easily
showing no restraint to colour changes, often can produce a bad
odor and are prone to bacteria adhesions.
In this presentation, the speaker demonstrates the concepts
and materials used to achieve optimal patient satisfaction. With
Bredent Group’s innovative new system; Visio.lign the above
mentioned weaknesses and shortages will be overcome. The
aesthetic options possible with new and modern materials, such
as modified composites, are demonstrated on the basis of fixed
and removable restorations on implants. The speaker poses the
provocative question, “Does it always have to be ceramic?“

Lasers, Lateral Beams and Thought Processes!
Lasers are truly a dental paradigm! Lasers help us think outside of
the box into new areas of healing. What
otherwise may have been a very guarded prognosis , laser
applications can shift the outcome to a more
favourable prognosis. This lecture looks at real time video
procedures and post ops that allows faster healing
and less stress chairside, not only for the dentist and team but
also for the patient. Application involves not
only soft tissue but also hard tissue, teeth and bone. Local
anaesthetic is often not needed! Minimally invasive
dentistry makes it fun for everyone. We all deserve a win-win
situation!
